Probably not going to port this whole thing. I did a State Troops reskin which I donated to WH3's SFO.

Submods for this are welcome. FYI, the State Troops portion of this mod is now incorporated directly into SFO for WH3.

there is a slight issue with some of the faces of Outriders and Pistoliers, otherwise fantastic mod.

for whatever reason, this mod causes some issues with Unique steam tanks mod, as well as Imperial Master Engineers
the issue being the men riding on the steam engineer on the von zepple style steam tank, are just floating heads, and hands.

That’s perfect! It doesn’t have to be too much. After all, this is meant to be a role play, not lore friendly. I meant it like there would only be a little shield variation per faction. Great to know you are working on it!

I have definitely considered (and started) a submod for Sigmars Heirs that gives unique, and province appropriate gear to each state troops variant.

No promise that gets done before we're onto Warhammer 3 though.

Will you be thinking about making faction specific shield markings? For example, middenlqnd gets bears, averland gets a sun, Marienburg gets a fish/mermaid, etc.

@Grandmaster Last I played it was compatible with Sigmars Heirs, and the reskin even applied to all his provincial State troops.

@mlgundling I had exactly that almost done, just another week of cleanup to go, when Deads Empire General expanded variants came out and I kinds of dropped it. I'll revisit that and maybe out out something with more Napoleonic style.

Great Mod! Would you consider reskin the empire general and doing more 17th century reskins of the officers? If not, maybe add uniqueu officers into it? It would fit great with your mod and be a cool roleplay!

even if i have this loaded before the dryrain overhaul, the infantry are being overwritten by dryrain.

I like the new look for spear men and Halberds but the back packs on swords men and all Great swords wearing floppy hats kinda kills it for me. I liked the kinda field kit the normal models had with a little German bread bag and canteen.

I think you could just rename the fine for this, putting an exclamation point in front, and it would work with SFO.

As it is, I'm not planning to do that, and after a Covid bout last month, I'm definitely lacking the creative and problem-solving spark for modding and may not be posting anything more for a while.

Any faction color change mod should work for sure, yeah. I don't override unit or faction colors at all, but some of the custom assets may be oddly colored if you use any really saturated colors.

Snek, if I use a mod that changes colour of a faction, would that mess up this mod? It doesn't change the texture you see...

Yeah those ones, but you have to be really close to even notice either way

I did also see that turning unit detail to ultra, some spearman would have invisible weapons. But ultra detail tends to break some other reskins and stuff too somewhat

Is it the ones with the extra scarring on their faces? Those were textures I adopted from LT Apollo's reskins and sometimes they display weirdly.

This is freaking dope. Love it. Some faces of swordsmen and spearmen have odd texture seaming and glazed over eyes though, some kind of weird transparency?

@Coitus I'm mulling what, if anything, I want to do with the RORs and Elector Count troops because the bigger overhauls already change so much with them, and I personally hate CA's choices for half of the Elector Count troops which make more sense as different RORs and not as the soldiers that a province specializes in.

Dwarfs will get this kind of reskin for sure since I'm going to be giving Dawi Thunder a rework.

@NoName woodsmen or riverwardens sound interesting. I've seen good versions of Wolf-kIn and Teutogen Guard on the workshop before.

Snek if you need any ideas for lore infantry units to add to the empire how about something like wolf-kin which is the Ulric versio nof the Simgar flagellants? Would be nice to have some axe units in the empire roster. Woodsmen would be a nice low tier axemen. Teutogen guard is also a possibility if you want to add hammer units. Haven't seen anyone try to add riverwardens yet. Longshanks are a good choice too. You could also go for "lords of the harvest" which are halfing swordsmen that make up the majority of the melee infantry halfings in the imperial army but I understand if you don't want to go halflings.

its an pure scriptmod for model variety, only should affect overhauls, that touch vanilla unit textures, and even then, you get the their textures or his, mod order etc, you mileage will vary but it wont bug out in any way. ....like he mentioned in the literally first two sentcences of the description..
..one reason i dont touch SFO is the always dump, ignoring any information given ??SFO??? question.and the normal braingarbage that follows in the Comments- although in this Case an whole Sentence was written, which is positiv outstanding. Flame me, i wont read it.

@Anax It should be compatible with that, is this is purely cosmetic and doesn't touch unit data.

@Trygveblacktivger If you made an edit to the backpack base to clear everything between the first variant mesh tag, you can take them off.

@Keego Extremo the backpacks started as either dwarf miner or master engineer backpacks. I did the remodeling and animating in Asset Editor.

Okay so after looking at this. It looks veeeeeeeery good. Tho i dont like the back packs it makes it feel more 18th century. And if i could request a submod or something that removes them.

Else i like the style you went with it looks cool and feels abit like how the Empire looks in the Mark of Chaos game
