In my opinion the mod would be perfect if the thematic units were only recruitable by the faction they come from (maybe with an exception for some cothique units because that fits the coastal mercenary theme).
Regardless of these factors though, a lack of power in the Tier 1 Units does seem to be the most common complaint I have seen.
I am certainly no master of balancing Units. I've been using a mod to remove any external factors from the fight when I balance Units. Like Using a mod with a flat battle map with no obstacles, so that neither unit is more tired or has some form of advantage, and another mod to remove "Lords" from the equation by making basic Units be able to fill the Lord slot in Custom Battles.
But the people using them in campaigns I still feel have an advantage over me for seeing the Unit in real action! I have read the comments and want to make sure I listen to feedback, so I will most definitely be looking into all previous Tier 1 Units cost on the next Update alongside the "Dragon Guard of Caledor" Unit Roster! :]
Yes the Militia Tier Units are intended to be weak, roughly on par with the High Elf Spearmen if the are Tier 1 Melee, or with the High Elf Archer or Light Armored Archer if they are Tier 1 Ranged. In the Files, the lowest Ranked Cavelry for the High Elves are considered like Tier 3 I believe, so Tier 1 Cavalry are balanced around the Dark Rider of the Dark Elves since it is considered Tier 1.
If you pit any of them in an even fight with the corresponding Unit, it should have the desired cost to efficiency. Sometimes it can be difficult to place a price on other factors that make a unit excel in a specific circumstance though, for example the price on "Nagarythe Warband". If they are given time to fire all of there ammunition, they have a significant advantage against other Tier 1 infantry. But if they only fire 1 or 2 times, they dont.
My absolute favorite units are the White Lion units as they entirely complete Alastar and let me make an actual army for him, which I LOVE<3. So far besides those two things the units are great. I think that trying to put an emphasis on where the units come from (like chrace unites having strider) is an excellent idea as well.
These first Units are not tied to a particular Culture, and as a result do not have a Unit Cap.

Hopefully I can add to it a bit by saying I'm only a couple hours away from releasing my first bundle of Dark Elf Units! After that I will be bouncing back over here, to add another bundle of Units for the High Elves within the next few days. :]

this submod is pretty simple actually and what it change is...
- remove all unit additional requirement building and also their unit cap
- move all unit recruitment to landmark and resource building only
Yes sub-mods are most definitely okay! However it is requested that the submod requires the original mod in order to work and is not essentially a re-upload of the original.
To throw it out there aswell, I do maintain the right to release an official version of a submod someone else has created. For example, I plan to eventually release an official rebalance of the Units for SFO and Radious Total War. If someone else has already made a submod that does this, I will still release the one that I have made.
As long as those 2 things are not a problem, it is certainly okay! :D
and btw can i make submod for this mod? of course with full credit and all permission are yours

I'm excited to announce that the next update will be dropping later today!
It will feature 6 new Militia Units with a Saphery Theme:
• Squires of Hoeth
• Squires of Lileath
• Sapherian Apprentices (Life)
• Spellbreaker Militia
• Spellsword Militia
• Shadow Peak Prospectors
After this update, this mod will still receive regular updates until I feel like I have completed my High Elf Roster, however I will begin alternating between Races each update, in an effort to create Units for each person's favorite Warhammer Race!
The first additional Unit Mod will be "Glacierheart's Unit Mod - Dark Elves", and will start with an expansion of the Black Arks Militia Roster.
I will look into seeing if there are any available unused textures for the High Elves. That is something interesting that I had not thought about.
mentions: i am no modder so i cant say if its also fact with elves, but Snek did mod variants by unused assets from basegame - perhaps bcs of performance impacts- into Empire, andf if this Items exist also for Elves, would be an great addition in my eyes.

In fact, Dark Elves are winning in the poll to be the next race actually, even though from what it sounds like, the asrai may have more lore for me to look through.
Now that I have the foundation if the mod laid out, I think I can make units even quicker. Hopefully I can get to every race as soon as possible. I may start bouncing around from race to race, so that everyone gets a little of what they are hoping for. :]

Norsca would be a really fun one to do as well, everything from Clansmen of the various tribes to Norscan Half-Giants. I've always really liked the look of their units. I fell like I have a lot of ideas for them. (Plus they could have some easy crossover with Warriors of Chaos)
I wish I could pump these units out faster! Haha xD
There is a poll in the description of this mod to decide which race I do next, but I do plan to visit every race at some point!
I'll look into some lore on the Dark Elves and start thinking of some ideas. :]
I believe that my first Elite Units should be coming out tonight or tomorrow. I'm in the final balancing stages, with only 4 Units left o balance, and then after creating some new unit cards, they should be ready. :]
I'm excited to get some feedback on these Elite Units. I am attempting to create an Elite set of Soldiers from each of the different cultures starting with Cothique and Chrace. The rosters will feature a core set of units shared across all cultures, but with a couple of unique Units for each one. For example, the Storm Guard of Cothique will have unique Unit called "Thunder Bolt Crew", while the Lion Guard of Chrace will have a unique Unit called "War Lion Beastmaster".
