I don't mind, you're free to use these for other mods, no permission is needed. However, I didn't draw these portraits or animate them, perhaps you should maybe ask the artists? It's up to you but I'm more than happy with you using them.

Hi! Are you ok if I include your mod in a large portrait patch (still requiring users of the patch to subscribe to your mod) but modifying some files to include the portraits in the default Paradox categories?

Sorry for taking so long. I took a look at the remote file ID and fixed it to the correct number. Someone else tested it and says it works now. Let me know if it works for you guys now, maybe redownload it if possible.

Mod should be working fine I check it out in my end, if you still have issues unsubscribe, make sure you don't have the physical files anymore in your computer C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\2589114334 then resubscribe and check that same file path to see that you have 8 MB, 27 files, and 15 folders for it.

@xelth12. no need to be rude and sarcastic, this person pumps out a lot of mods, and in general they work without a problem. Since you did take the time to say how to fix it, you could have just politely said "hey OP, this is the problem and this is the fix", so that they could have fixed the issue. It's not like they haven't tried to resolve the issue as they have communicated with others.

This mod doesn't work. Period. And it's simple, that's because Genius OP here messed up the descriptor file as mentioned. The mod ID is not the same in it than what it's supposed to be.
Rookie mistake that should have been fixed a long time ago.
Manual installs can help though. A bit messy you gotta make sure any and all components of the mods are erased and the launcher doesn't list it anymore. Then manual install, rewrite the descriptor file with the mod's actual ID and it should work. Did for me, even though I had to redo it a dozen times.
PS: Sorry for the salt it kept messing up my game and I got quite.. well, salty.

@Vael good catch - I can confirm it's the same for me too. The descriptor file says its ID is 2588218143 which is a mod that is either private or deleted.

I hope flagster11 can take a look.

I think I have the descriptor issue figured out

the remote file ID for this mod mismatches with the mod ID. You should double-check that it's the same on your end.

Anyway, I can just use the unpacked version locally :) The mod itself works, but my Launcher seems to hate the zip file.

I've unsubbed, opened and closed the launcher a few times, manually ensured the data was NOT is the Launcher's SQLite database, the files were 100% deleted, and finally resubbed. I tried both before the name change and after. Something weird is happening and I'm at a loss for what.

Do you think it's just an issue with your disk? I've never had an issue with a stellaris mod before that sounds like what you're experiencing. Have you deleted/redownlaoded it at all?

I swear it worked when I tested it, but my game just seems allergic to your mod. It's deleting the *.mod file in the /mod folder when I boot the game up, then the Launcher complains the mod is missing, then the next time you open the Launcher it asks if I want to add the new mod to a playset.

I am able to use the unzipped files as a local mod, but no idea why my PC hates the zipped version. I use other zipped mods without issue.

Yes, editing the descriptor.mod in the zip file to have the current Steam name "Diamont Species from Metroid" fixed the Launcher's problem of continuously thinking it was a new mod every time and thinking the zip file wasn't downloaded.

You should update your zip fire with the right name, or rename the mod (via the Steam mod admin page) to "Diamont Species"

Seems like the Launcher is unhappy than your mod name on Steam (Diamont Species from Metroid) and the mod name in your descriptor.mod (Diamont Species) do not match.

Yeah something funky is happening with my Launcher. It wants to keep deleting the ugc_<mod_id>.mod file.

My launcher has decided to star complaining that your mod is not on disk. I suspect it is having a bad day - I'll report back soon with more info.

Let me know if you make any progress. As far as I know, it shouldn't conflict with any species mods, namely ones that may edit existing species classes (mammalian, reptillian etc). It should work with your version, it doesn't really use any version-specific features besides Lithoid traits. I'm sure this isn't the issue, but you have the DLC right? The only time the mod was listed, but did not appear for me in-game was when I tested it with the DLC turned off.

@flagster11 3.0.4 - I'm going to try it without other mods first. Small chance all of the other species mods I have are interfering. I'm doing development on them right now, so I haven't tried debugging yours quite yet.

You could try to "create" a mod in the game's launch menu, and then copy-paste the files from this mod into your created mod folder. What version are you playing on?
