I have a mod that gives you benefits based on the damage you deal and somehow having this mod enabled makes this super unbalanced because it removes the damage cap. While normally this wouldnt be big of an issue if i dealt 3x their hp with one attack and the damage count showing that number as 5k for example for a 1.5k hp enemy, with this other mod it does matter. I am not sure why this happens, but maybe the level cap broke again because it also seems like i deal more damage the more i kill far beyond level 20. I have killed over 5k blue slimes and the damage i deal to them reaches millions

Does this affect the range of banners at all? I've been looking for something that extends the range of banners to cover much larger areas.

for some reason every time I kill a single worm I get flooded with messages on the chat saying I reached level 1 against them

I would love a version of this that works up to the vanilla banner effect, so after 50 kills you get to level 0.1, or something of the sort, and work your way up to 100% of the vanilla banner effect

@JMStheKing not sure if this was possible when you made the comment, but you can set the maximum banner level to 1, which just means you have the banner effect once, meaning it should be the same as if you were affected by a vanilla banner.

Would you ever add a setting to give the vanilla stat boosts one time? I'm not too fond of the tedium of collecting banners, but with this mod, you get too strong too quickly.

For those who are curious I did some quick testing, in the current 1.4.4 version each level gives you 15% increased damage dealt and 5% reduced damage taken. (of course with level 20 giving you immunity and instakill):gearthumbsup:

Anyone know if banners have no effect while this mod is active? I'd imagine their effects wouldn't stack.

Couple of cases where the mod isn't working (there might be more). These enemies still do their full dmg even at max lvl:
- Armed Zombies
- Voodoo Demons (might also be normal Demons, only tried this on a FTW seed) don't do contact dmg but their projectiles do
- Harpies also don't do contact dmg but the feather projectiles do
- Giant Turtles do their full contact dmg (which on a Master FTW world is a oneshot)

I'd guess that's because of how life steal is coded in the game; you have a 'healing' bank that refills fairly quick over time, but if you're healing for thousands of points in a single shot, it's probably taking a while to fill it back from -6000 out of like. 80.

killing high level enemies with the Spectre armor set bonus active at the same time will heal me once or twice for thousands of points, but then no longer spawns any more orbs after that. No idea if it's terraria seeing the high number and cutting it off, or if there is a feature in this mod that does that, but the only way to get it to function again is reloading the world or disabling the mod. Not really a complaint, but just letting you know

To all those asking, it looks like every level gained against an enemy is a 15% (additive) adjustment to the damage calculation (both directions)

So by default, you'd need at least level 4 for this to overtake vanilla effects of banners.

I don't know if this is normal but this glitched out with etherian goblins for me.
all of a sudden it hit max level and any weapon I use does 99978 damage and always crits

Does setting the max level below 20 make the effect hit the same power faster or does it lower the power of banners, cause I want to get rid of the need to use the banners, but not one shot enemies.

Just wanted to let you know I'm max level for zombies, and they still hurt me for 1 hp. Also, its really weird, but instead of 99,999 ... it usually says like 99,993, or 4, etc. Just found that odd, maybe its terraria's variable damage?

BTW, I found a mod called "Natural Variety" that does exactly the tally counter in the bestiary if that's interesting for anyone. Was super hard to find because of the name implies more.

Love this so far, just wish there was a more efficient way of keeping track of monsters relying just on tally counter. I really wish that if you have the tally counter+ (cell phone etc) that total kills show in the bestiary. I kinda have this crazy idea of maxing out all the monsters, but the grind isn't the problem, it's how I can keep track of it all.

is it possible to make a config for power of 2 mode so it would go (50,100,200,400,800....) a power of 5 mode (50,250,1250,6250,31250....) and a power of 10 mode (50,500,50000,500000,5000000....)

Does anyone know how much a level changes? I just want to cap the levels at around the strength of just a vanilla banner, don't want to make enemies critters where they're no threat.

How do i know that ive leveled up against an enemy? is it just the normal thing where it says you have gotten a certain amount of kills and you get a banner? or is it something different, cause i only see the vanilla one.

when there are enough kills for level 20, the notification does not appear, and the mob remains 1 hp from the hit

I hit level 20 with blue slimes and they still damage me even if I'm near a banner, and it never said zombies hit level 20 even though I killed enough to hit level 20.

yea I think every variant of zombie would have its own count which is kind of meme. Maybe I'll try to fix that soon

Greetings, have question how the kill track works for different model of same kind of enemy, cause i regularly see
"..got lv3 of Zombie.." and in like 10min i see "..got lv2 of Zombie.." and then again after some kills "..got lv4 of Zombie.." or another "..got lv1 of Zombie.."

*what it looks like to me, it differs to rain zombies as just zombies and so on, zombie with slime head also mentioned as just zombie and armed zombie the same ... but their coding might differ so it them individualy >_> (banners don´t differ it at least except rain zombies)

** might be even worse and every design model differently but have to check on that yet .. will be hassle to check ... otherways very nice idea to spice up game for Master or Expert difficulty... then you bored to dying to random slime then low health.

Just reached level 20 on eater of souls and the banner effects from the mod stopped working, didnt get a 20th level text either.

This mod seems to be broken. Damage and defence don't change by leveling up (with banner and without) and notification about reaching 20th level doesn't show up.
