"Humanoid Alien Races" listed under requirements. It does not add any alien races, it is a framework which allows many things. One of those is custom backstories, that is why we need it.

You do not need to have an alien race mod. This mod was created before the game supported custom backstories, however the alien races FRAMEWORK would allow you to do it. No actual races required, we are just using one feature the framework supports.

No, I apologize lol. That was a bit douche-y of me. What's the worst case scenario, someone actually wants to use my mods? It was a few hours of work but I wanted to work it out, I shouldn't have been short tempered. Sorry man, glad you enjoy it.

Updated to 1.5.

A small warning, the transition from 1.4 to 1.5 changed a lot of the code for backstories, meaning I had to effectively go through and rewrite everything. There are possible stat or trait issues from this.

Additionally, from what I can tell 1.4 to 1.5 removed the ability to have a "chance" to force a trait, which a great many backstories used. As such there were reworks involving forced traits as well.

Understood. I can't give you a time frame since its reliant on HAR working mostly, ill have a break tomorrow and can hop in to see if its working for me yet. Maybe ill look at migrating some backstories that work without HAR's features over to edo if it doesnt get sorted out for me soon.

The most obvious answer is that I can't spend every minute doing free modding, of course an outdated mod wont work with the newest version. Additionally, at the time of updating edo themed expansion I was unable to launch the game with HAR active, meaning i couldn't update this mod either.

It will be updated as soon as I get a break and can launch the game with HAR active.

So it seems that this mod breaks pawn generation for Edo Expansion and T's Samurai Faction currently due to not being updated. I'm not sure why you didn't update this mod when you updated Edo Expansion, but ETA on 1.5? It's a bit hard to play those mods without this one lol.

This was made before the game natively supported modders making backstories, so HAR was required. The vanilla game solution also doesn't support specific features, like age ranges or forced spawn with items, which are part of backstories. There were also a few other restrictions but its been a while since I bothered to look into it.

I likely wont do a non-HAR version, at least for now. I don't particularly have the time to go through and port all the backstories to the base game format, as well as sort or rework ones that dont work with vanilla restrictions.

Yes, it (may) say it doesnt satisfy the requirements but just ignore that, it still works for 1.3 and the legacy version!

Its untested. it uses traits and weapons from the edo expansion and distributes them to the faction. in theory you could go through and remove the added traits and weapons, or MAYBE run without it, although there would certainly be errors involved.

I asked because I know it connects it to steam because Rimpy lets me right click a mod to open the mod's workshop page so it knows the page is there.

Actually interesting, maybe it reads from steams listings over the code. I expected it would just read the code and had the link to the legacy version so people knew they could use it. Interesting idea, ill give it a try.

Yea it's a pain that it keep popping that error, even if there's no mention of the legacy in the files.

But it is safe to ignore, so beside the minor pain while sorting mods it all work.

Hey, you can use either mods. It SHOULDN'T be listing the legacy version as a dependency, like its literally just NOT in the code, so I don't know why rimpy is doing that, but its safe to ignore it, you can use legacy for 1.3 or the current version for 1.4, both will work.

Alright, this mod should now work with 1.4! It still requires HAR for a number of reasons, one HAR gives more options with backstories, secondly it would have taken me 6x the time to convert all HAR backstories to vanilla ones. The mod is also backwards compatible and should work fine for 1.3 copies as well.

Its next on the docket, I just finished updating the base mod. There have been changes involving backstories, as such I may have to spend a long time converting backstories to work in 1.4.
