thank you for this
MrJaMan 11 Jun, 2023 @ 9:41am
Is it working?
BoraBora 10 Oct, 2022 @ 5:43am
@ Chamëleon TBN: You're right, I simplified because Darkangel was seemingly only interested by an unlock feature and didn't understand what this mod does. But my comment could be misinterpreted. As for me, I use Common Ground in the map editor and it's great. ;)
Chamëleon TBN  [author] 10 Oct, 2022 @ 4:13am
@dan5tr4n63r - glad you like it
@BoraBora - depends on - if you not unlock all tile with 81 Tiles 2 but decide to play with normal buying, this mod is still relevant
dan5tr4n63r 8 Oct, 2022 @ 5:24am
Wow, this mod is great..the video was quite informative of what it does..
BoraBora 8 Oct, 2022 @ 2:22am
@ Darkangel: no need to scream and yes, you don't need Common Ground anymore.
Darkangel 8 Oct, 2022 @ 1:42am
OK i downloaded the new testing beta 81 tiles mod that you and others rave about. Now i presume i need to uninstall YOURS CAUSE YOURS WILL NOW CONFLICT WITH YOUR PROPOSED 81 TILES MOD NOW?
BoraBora 4 Oct, 2022 @ 10:23am
@Barkangel: 81 tiles has been fixed the same day Plazas was released: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2862121823&searchtext=81+tiles Common ground is pure graphical, it doesn't unlock anything.
Darkangel 4 Oct, 2022 @ 6:49am
So this is only 25 tiles and not the 81 tiles that no modder can fix after promenade?

Cham, broski this is very incredible. Wow, how did I not know about this one?
Basco81 22 Apr, 2022 @ 1:54pm
Thanks @BonBonB for the tip for this mod
Armandeus 15 Apr, 2022 @ 7:39pm
According to the comments for the Purchase It mod, this mod disables the "purchase all" button that mod uses to allow you to buy all 25 tiles at once. Removing this mod brought the button back. It would be great if the conflict could be resolved.

This one should be flagged as essential ! Thanks for coding it.
Chamëleon TBN  [author] 6 Dec, 2021 @ 1:27am
Gla you find it so useful @Wafthrudnir and @IhmeHihhuli ™
Wafthrudnir 4 Dec, 2021 @ 12:29pm
I wish I would have noticed this mod already when it came out in September. Would have saved so much time on my last two maps. This really is a game-changer for map creators. Almost halves the time I need for a map. Thank you!
IhmeHihhuli ™ 29 Nov, 2021 @ 12:55am
Credit to BonBonB for bringing this mod up in his show and this way informing of its existence, this mod is an absolute lifesaver. The pain in the ass caused by the different terrain in the map editor vs in game has been a massive hindrance and the process of fixing the terrain glitches by going back and forth between in-game and the editor was something I dreaded and a reason why some of my maps were never finished lmao. An absolute GOAT mod for all map creators. Thank you!

@Snacko thanks for reporting back. Though I have to clarify that due to me being busy with university, it wasn't me who helped, but krzychu. Great that it works now!
ashlandky62 15 Nov, 2021 @ 3:20pm
I have used this app for two days now on my new map and the time it saves is dramatic. My new map has a lot of mountain streams and spotting water glitching and trees in the water at water's edge has been excruciating before this mod. Already a favorite!
Snacko 15 Nov, 2021 @ 1:32pm
Thanks to xlf1024, I have figured out my problem. A few days ago I accidently set the Dynamic Resolution mod slider to max, which crashed my game. But after reboot it worked. With the internal resolution still set so high my system could handle it, so I forgot about it. But CG was trying to render at that crazy high resolution and crashed the game. I had to manually set my system paging file to manual and raise it to get the game to load so I could reset Dynamic Resolution. (un-subbed DR but that didn't help. I think it changes something within the game.) I then reset the Paging File to let Windows manage it. All is good now.. so far. Thanks for your help xlf1024!!

THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU, I can cannot express enough what a HUGE game changer this is when making maps in map editor. This has always been one of my biggest bitches about this game.Thank you BonBonB for telling us about this. I had no idea it existed!

@Snacko that's new to me. Could you please hop on the discord linked above, create a new thread and send me your log files?

Thanks for the nice comments everyone!
Snacko 14 Nov, 2021 @ 4:43pm
Strange things started happening today after installing this mod. It works in the Map Editor, but when it loads the screen is faded for about 5 seconds while I think it is rendering the extra 80 tiles. I tried it in game and the game crashed several times. Loaded my Map in the ME again fine. Wondering if my MSI AB overclock was being taxed too much by all the rendering. Backed off the Overclock, and tried it in the ME again, and now Move It stopped working. So, not sure what's the exact cause... Anybody else have any problems?
Jay Thorn 14 Nov, 2021 @ 3:10pm
Found out about this mod from BonBonB who made a video about it.

I cannot describe how happy this exists! :steamhappy:
xlf1024  [author] 22 Sep, 2021 @ 11:46am
@Sterben this mod doesn't change map size nor purchasable tiles; it just changes terrain *appearance* (mesh resolution, surface paint) (which I've been told does have some side-effects on road placement)

the vanilla game lets players purchase 9 out of the 25 tiles in the center in the map, so that's what the game will show in the map editor. This mod doesn't affect that at all, but there are mods that players can use to purchase more tiles. Those don't show in the map editor though. Likewise, the total map size is *always* 81 tiles large, I'm not aware of any mod that changes that.
Wilhelm924 22 Sep, 2021 @ 4:39am
So the total map gets 81 tiles large, but only the normal 25 can be bought?
That is what you're saying?
xlf1024  [author] 21 Sep, 2021 @ 1:38pm
@Sterben I assume you're referring to regular gameplay, correct? (not the map editor)
This mod only affects how terrain is rendered, not the buildable area. For that, you'll need the 81 tiles mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576327847&searchtext=81tiles

Read the description of that mod before using it! I believe it's also recommended to unlock all tiles immediately when using that mod to avoid issues later on.

If you're referring to the map editor, the overlaid outlines of the tiles will only show the 25 tiles that are unlockable in vanilla. However, if you select the Square81 preset from the dropdown, this mod does work outside of that. If you want to check, try e.g. using a clipping network (from the workshop). Those don't work in the map editor without this mod.

If this doesn't help, feel free to contact me on the discord linked above. I'll likely need logs from you; you can find info on how to find those in the #troubleshooting channel.
Wilhelm924 21 Sep, 2021 @ 3:59am
I can't get the map bigger than 25 squares...
DragonOfMercy 8 Sep, 2021 @ 5:46am

Thank you for creating this mod! Essential for all map makers and has made creating my latest map so simple without testing terrain in game.
Sir Sheikhs Pears 2 Sep, 2021 @ 9:58am
Now I can build in the Map Editor without checking how it will look in the game! :steammocking:

With the Common Ground mod enabled, all what i build in the Map Editor
looks like a game. AWESOME!
