Thanks for making this fun unit. They look great, and create some cool moments in battles. Whether it's sniping incoming enemy Lords, or obliterating some poor retreating troops, it just makes me go "oh, that's so cool!" which is what I want from my mods, lol

I believe Elon completely overwrote the faction, and isn't using the basic dwarven buildings

Update:
- reduce unit to 5 entities (from 8)
- reduce bullet mass to prevent single entities from rolling infinitely
- reduce a little bit the penetration
- abilities are now mutually exclusives
- cap to 4 in campaign

go easy on the balance though, them being hilariously OP is the fun part. Capping the numbers will be enough to keep them from breaking the game.

I really like the ideas behind all your dwarf mods, but I think you generally need to balance them out. The Iron Brotherhood, Phalanx, and Sharpshooter Rangers units are all significantly overpowered.

May I suggest doing a "balance pass" on this unit? I really like the idea/concept, but Dwarfs can reach absurd levels of "cheese" with this unit. The AI, in particular, spams them to no end, and proceeds to murder every enemy faction in record time. I'm looking at an AI Belegar, with 10 of these units, each with 144 missile damage, backed by organ guns and cannons. It's like Legend of Total War is controlling the AI.

Hey there, mate. Finishing SFO submod, and i've found something extremely broken and funny – Long story short, did you try shooting lords or heroes on foot? Because mass of the bullets is ridiculously high, footlords, while ragdolling, can't touch the ground through the volley fire.
Guess, in the submod, i will reduce missile mass.

Highly suggest nerfing, they are very very very good for the dawi's roster. general sniping is amazing, but if these were used against other players or AI that were programed on how to deal with them, they would still struggle. i think the range and armour penning is something u cant change, its the main deal breaker thats so fun to use. i think nerfing there hiding abbilities and movement speed. they are too diffiucult for the AI to notice, and there current speed allows you to have them very far up and retreat in perfect time. maybe have it that with the 2 abbilties that only 1 can be active at a time? so you can range shoot them, then when the enemy/AI begin to work out where they are, they go into hiding, only bringing them out if they get right on top of them or a player saw the muzzle flash and drops magic or arty on them

@Doc I believe this is due to a limitation of the game engine. When a unit "cannot move" it also cannot rotate on itself. To prevent related issues, I suggest you to give the order to attack your target before activating the ability. That does the trick for me

@mailasdqwe: I am working on an other unit just for that. However they won't share the same aesthetics. More of a power armor kind of unit

I'm running into an issue, when I play a normal map, and I pop their abilites they refuse to shoot anything, the only time I can get them to shoot is when the enemy is routing.

Superb aesthetics! Any chance you can create a variant that is specialized in sniping single entity monsters, lords, heroes and the kind? Elon already created a specialized sniper unit, but unfortunately it's only recruitable within his Greybeard's Prospectors subfaction :(

@kelstr: Did you try deleting the pack file and re-download it ? As for the green eyes I agree, and my next units won't have green eyes. However I prefer those rangers from the wild to keep them green. But feel free to make your own version :steamthumbsup:

After a couple hours playing with these guys I can say without question that I love them. They do great damage, but not super OP. Also, just watched two units literally juggle a goblin shaman off the field. I was laughing the whole time. :D

Really badass mod, reminds me of the Sniper from Dota 2. I especially like the unique sniper rifle model. 5 star unit mod.
