and for the normal versoin just make it so he has to blance his devils and angel deals cuz if he is to greedy he will die but isnt he will die due to not having alot of dmg

What if Birthright gave you a one time revive as a version of Damocles with the sword stuck in his head? Much lower stats, having a sword dropped into his head and all, but a second chance nonetheless

it's a fun mod, but there's one issue i myself get, and it's nothing to do with this mod itself. more so the tainted treasure rooms mod when both of the 2 are activated, as not only can that just become a cheese to making the run more boring (yes it sucks) but also just making the tainted treasure rooms pointless to enter unless you somehow manage to get something else that isn't the tainted variant of damocles.
i am just simply saying for whoever reads, this i would not recommend this and tainted treasure rooms mod enabled together unless you just want to feel cheeky for getting rid of that blade as you got hit 2 floors ago.

you should consider adding something for birthright, maybe make it so you have to take damage twice, or if you already took damage it pauses until you take damage again :)
fun character though

really like this character, makes me play as if i'm lost up until i take damage then after i do it turns into a speedrun. Also lets me find a bunch of new items from mods. Don't know if i would call it balanced but its a good time

Yo, I have been trying to get mother to with Damocles (i love him, he is so fun) but when I go inside the chase part right after have taken the minecart the game just crashes. I don't think it's a bug but it has happened already two times. Does somebody know how to fix this?

Love these characters! Tainted Damocle's looking-up sprite is super jank looking, maybe it should be adjusted to be more looking at it from the base of the sword's hilt, instead of the sword angling upward?

Broken dameocles ? God u players wanna nerf everything.

tbh broken damocles should be nerfed, but keeps his starting set still. Maybe an treasure room item also deals damage on pickup or you have to fight a boss in every treasure room to get an item from it.

Birthright effect?

maybe tainted damocles could get a broken heath for every 3 items so he is not too strong

hey i love damocles. Good character. BUT tainted damcoles is boring and i think he would need a rework. he is just strong and on top of that, he starts with 4,5 dmg... why. Isane good and would like to rework him. Maybe he could start with vanishing twin for double boss items and some other mechanic. But the mod is nice and damocles (not tainted is fun) and balanced ( in my opinion)

Interesting. It's like playing the lost, but instead of high risk low reward, it's high risk high reward (Although, because the knife dropping is random after you take damage, it's possible you might never experience it dropping, though unlikely).

I toyed a bit with the "da rules" mod, and I think it would be a good idea for tainted damocles to have a crooked penny effect in every room that garanties an item (shop, item room, boss room, angel and devil deal) and remove the crooked penny as a pocket item

For anyone else experiencing crashes with certain interactions, it will usually another clashing mod. Unfortunately I wouldn't know what specific mods don't work with mine, so if you run into problems, test what works with my mod enabled or not, unsubscribe if you have to

@Octotron the...fix has been found...turns out in my desperation to never have to see the disgusting sight of mother in a bra so i replaced it with...ria was the cause

@Mr. Icelandic do you by any chance have Ria's Bra or No Big Books mod? usually that's what causes the not being able to sleep in mom's bed issue when having other mods on with it

@Mr.Icelandic - I tested this just now and the cutscene played fine? I'm not sure what's going on with your own and @Ace of Spades version, perhaps conflicting mods? Though seems unlikely.

@Got No Keyboard - Check the png files are named the same as the lua references. It's really all it could be, names and references and that.

@Got No Keyboard - I would triple check all the references to your Tainted character. Make sure no names are under my character's name or your normal character's name. There's so many that it is likely the cause as it's the only thing you would change besides starting items and stats in the lua.

If anything doesn't show up when you are using a mod as a base it's usually because a name reference is wrong. Use CTRL + F and search for the names it shouldn't be, like "Damocles", and if any show up, swap them out with the right name.

yo dudeI got it working again,I used regular Damocles as the base for the golem,but my tainted version won't get the right files,and I've changed the names in the luas and shit???

This is really cool! I actually like that tainted Damocles starts with a pocket Crooked Penny, really works well thematically!

He's not that bad knowing that dangling sword is a thing.

Especially when there's a devil deal variant that has it's restrictions be the complete opposite of the sword itself (read: don't get any hearts)
