as far as I know default or original better said, big_city uses militia_hdr skybox, you should find an alternative version of big city and see.... I could remaster bigcity but is just too much effort and there are many enhanced versions of it already in the workshop

Is not "only default maps", maps in general which support this entity, the goal of this addon was to promote the use for mappers of env_skypaint in their levels and if not, then shown to the workshop such compatible maps can have different sky textures.

You can tell if a map is compatible or not if you spawn the "sky editor" and it changes colors, if it does, then congratz, the map you're playing allows custom skies... beware this has NOTHING TO DO AT ALL with the other addon "Skybox editor", this is for maps which have the "env_skypaint" entity.
