I don't think "stoopit" even begins to describe it. We need a new word for this.

Elkstone 2 Nov, 2022 @ 1:00am
Yeah will probably wait for this one
Elv原则 27 Oct, 2022 @ 7:35am
@endure can you put it on steam?
Enduriel 26 Oct, 2022 @ 6:31am
I made a quick update for this ( https://www.filen.io/d/2ead3dc6-31f6-467b-ae3d-15e08f6115b8#!mspUejTXjjGxHaIsYiTkphlfQepm255s ) , followed your balancing approach for vfe spacer but switched to vfe architect (70% of the durability, 3x the work).

I even updated the icon, but without the original graphics you used for the texture atlas it was too much effort to try and extract those and put it on the armored walls so I'm leaving that to you assuming you have them.

Right now they will use the same texture as in 1.3 when placed (the reinforced embrasure from vfe spacer).
Enduriel 26 Oct, 2022 @ 4:56am
Instead of Reinforced walls, VFE - Architect adds armored walls which serve the same function so may wanna use them as a base
Jiopaba 24 Oct, 2022 @ 1:55pm
@Anon The Reinforced Walls were removed as being essentially just "bloat." There's tons of other "a wall but stronger" in other VE mods and such now. You can find the semi-complete 1.4 changelog for VE stuff here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12kwpj76Mz2f5LhDVC1vlIiOFL6exGxCt9cYjXUdqaIs/edit#heading=h.5rocjyxrnhwj

Maybe on the weekend. I forgot how modding works.

What happened to the Reinforced Walls from VFE Spacer?
Jiopaba 23 Oct, 2022 @ 5:21pm
@WaKKO151 Tynan has apparently taken a fairly hard stance against embrasures. He really hates killbox style gameplay (which is why every new combat related thing that comes out works to incentivize it more and more.)
WaKKO151 23 Oct, 2022 @ 8:01am
Why sin't this in the base game yet?
WOOZEE 22 Oct, 2022 @ 5:25am
1.4 ...
Wednesday 19 Oct, 2022 @ 3:51pm
Waiting patiently for 1.4 :)
cleaner475 18 Oct, 2022 @ 12:35pm
Any chance of 1.4?

Do I need this loaded before or after the AI behaviour change
freelanceractual 26 Apr, 2022 @ 8:05pm
Ran into a strange issue today, after having the mod installed for a few weeks I am suddenly no longer able to select the material for the Embrasure, where before i could build from Wood, Stone, Steel, plasteel,ect... now I am only able to build generic embrasures, using steel, have a base hp of 200, and are snow white in coloration, strange thing is none of my other mods appear to be effecting this mod....anyone one have any thoughts
Victor 23 Apr, 2022 @ 4:02pm
So is this mod more performance friendly?
Nylem 1 Mar, 2022 @ 7:30am
@Clicky. As per my comment on this same question 5 comments down yes, in a sense it is intended. It's not intended as a dev decision but how the game considers embrasures. To loosely quote another modder "Embrasures from a game point of view are basically uncrossable sandbags." so the room will be "outside".
[IL] Sixes 1 Mar, 2022 @ 2:04am
Putting embrasures as part of the wall of my room makes the room considered "outside" like the wall doesnt count as a wall. Is this intended?
Reidlos 14 Feb, 2022 @ 9:07pm
so I dont have combat extended but have spacer module, I see both the tech for that later, and have the starting embrasure but its only in the random stone i have, I cant make it wood or steel. Anyone know what might be preventing choice?

I can't believe they haven't corrected "Murder Hollace" yet
Richard Mc Nutbuster 2 Jan, 2022 @ 9:11am
so wait, how does this work exactly? if you place an embrasure on a wall does it just convert it, or is it a seperate building
Stallion 22 Dec, 2021 @ 1:18am
Some of the other embrasure mods have this line:

<coversFloor>true</coversFloor>
Nylem 11 Dec, 2021 @ 1:40pm
@Neothardus. No, they are not considered walls. To loosely quote another modder "Embrasures from a game point of view are basically uncrossable sandbags."
GasBandit 24 Nov, 2021 @ 6:38am
@Anon Ahh thanks for the clarification. I think my issue is that I had electrical conduit running through the embrasure (powering turrets along them), so it's probably that that caught fire. I DID notice later that although there was fire, the embrasure itself was not taking damage! So it makes sense that other things in the same tile are catching fire.

@Neothardus an embrasure does not seem to divide rooms. Building a square of embrasures and putting a roof on it, I'm still told it is "outdoors."
Neothardus 22 Nov, 2021 @ 12:55am
Are those embrasures considered as "walls" by the game or not?
I mean, if I install one between two separated rooms, are they still counted as two rooms, or considered as merged into one by the game?
Anon  [author] 20 Nov, 2021 @ 1:02pm
@GasBandit
Did some testing and it looks like it can be a flammable floor beneath the wall catching fire, even though the embrasure is 0% flammable. To replicate, build a stone embrasure on top of wooden floors. You may notice that the embrasure is not losing health despite visually appearing to be on fire. It looks like there is a special floor type called "Underwall" that prevents this from happening with Walls.

I'll try to figure out if there's a fix for this. I would assume that this couldn't happen since the Embrasure Def is coded to inherit all its properties from the Wall, except for those that had to be changed. <coversFloor> is still set true.
GasBandit 17 Nov, 2021 @ 6:34am
Is it by design that fire can spread to embrasures made of non-flammable material? I had some limestone embrasures that kept catching fire after a flashstorm.
jybil178 15 Nov, 2021 @ 10:26am
Might I ask the difference between CE and these embrasures? I've been using this mod for them ever since i caved and love it. I never realized though that CE had its own version :P Just curious to if anyone knew the exact differences off the top of their heads
phlux 4 Nov, 2021 @ 4:45pm
Hey i made a german translation for your mod: https://pastebin.com/aGTLUqT9
If you want to add it just place it as Languages/German/DefInjected/ThingDef/Buildings_Structure.xml in the mods folder.
Thanks for your work!
Anon  [author] 31 Oct, 2021 @ 12:56pm
Yes
dabeek 31 Oct, 2021 @ 10:46am
Meaning they act as permanently-open vents, correct?
Anon  [author] 30 Oct, 2021 @ 10:46am
@dallasbeek
Yes, they don't separate rooms. They work with Breachable Embrasures which exploits this effect.
dabeek 28 Oct, 2021 @ 10:41am
Do the embrasures connect rooms?

Childish is being an dumb little kid that begs the grown ups to do what you can't, even if that is some elementary xml code.

hi and thanks for mod
reinforced embrasures can be patched to work with Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Architect reinforced walls too thanks in advance
Scorpio 13 Oct, 2021 @ 7:19am
its selfish and childish but its ok made a local copy and changed the values to my taste
Xeonzs 12 Oct, 2021 @ 11:55am
I agree with Viper, this a nice "vanilla" feeling mod, not too OP or shit, or relying on 10 other mods or completely breaking immersion.

Again, thanks for sharing :)
Anon  [author] 12 Oct, 2021 @ 10:40am
@Scorpio
No sorry, I am simply sharing mods that I make for myself. The feedback I get is a bonus that lets me improve them for my own play too. It's selfish but I don't have time or the interest to do more than that.

You can let me know what you think needs changing, otherwise just make a local copy of this mod and edit it yourself.
