I have stopped making mods because I have problems with my SSD. It has a short life time left and due to the characteristics of my laptop the ones I have tried don't work, so for now I can't modify anything, since the “trial and error” process to relocate the hud would take several overwrite processes and would kill my disk.

@Vilinsecto Mm, Okay. Well, the maximun thing that id far from my knowledge is just replace som files from the vpk and that's it. I Don't know so much about that part honestly since I only learn how to open vpk files and replace some files to something I want or fix other thing like to put a weapon hud for a mod and put a file for the worldmodel, sound, and characters photos.

But, if it is not much to ask, is possible for you to make it compatible with crosshairs? I Using this hud because the weapon icons are not so close to the numbers of the weapon's ammunition and the reserve's ammunition. They are very well distributed, there are huds that have the icons placed incorrectly and cross the numbers or even go out of the box. So, let me know If can make it compatible with corsshairs, please

@Eltnum To make it compatible with a crosshair you would have to modify the .res files of the hud to introduce a section. The path of the files inside the vpk is resource/ui/hud. The bad thing is that to place the hud as I did I did not use that variable and would have to modify many values, since I used values far from 0, and the section that makes it compatible with needs that reference.
If you download a hud compatible with custom crosshairs, like Tomaz's you can see what section I am referring to.

@Vilinsecto I understand. One last thing, do you know how I can make it compatible with a crosshair? If it is the case that I have to remove some files or add something to the vpk of course.

@Eltnum When I made this mod the crosshairs that were in the workshop modified the same files that need to be modified to make this mod, that's why they don't work with it.
I am sorry to say that with the changes made, this HUD is not compatible with most health bar and crosshair reskins if they modify those files, which apparently is your case.

@Endevorix That has never happened to me. Maybe one of the character mods has a bug or doesn't have the dots concerning the eyes connected correctly and it affects them. Try activating the characters one by one to see if you can detect which one it might be.

@Vilinsecto Hello, I am learning fast, I have extracted the vpk of the mod skin, I have deleted the file "icon incap.vmt", then I have dragged the root folder to the vpk file of valve authorized tools and I have put it in the folder of addons and no longer gives conflict. But I ask you. Will the fact of deleting this vmt file give a problem or is everything correct?

@Endevorix Deleting that vmt will not give you any problem. The only thing that will happen is that if you use another mod for the HUD that does show the incapacitation images it will show the one included in the mod if it has it, with the measurements of the game.

You can always upload any mod for your collection. If you think it may cause permissions problems, keep it hidden.

@Vilinsecto Thank you very much for the exhaustive explanation. I will investigate how to solve it. Since I use the skin texture in a definitive list of mods and I would love to be able to add "compact hud", non-technical users will not understand why I recommend a list and two conflicting mods appear. I'm trying to fix it for this reason. Well, I love how the skin looks in the collection, Francis - Claire Redfield {RE: Revelations 2}.

No problem. We've all been beginners at this. xD Well, the "incap image" is the image that appears on the HUD when a player is incapacitated, when he falls. The skin images of the mods are made from two files: vtf, which is the skin itself, and vmt, a file that indicates how that image is applied (parameters and so on). If the mod you mentioned changed only to image, the vtf, you would see no conflict. But if it also modifies the vmt, you will see the mod in red in addons.

You are correct, I have tested it in game while still in red and it has worked without apparent problems. Thanks for the answer and solution. {Always the neurosis with the mods in red, that none remain red, all in white...}

Sorry to be such a beginner with these technical issues of "left 4 dead 2". The removal of the "icon", the "VMt" and "incap image" thing all sounds like "stranger things" to me... :-)

Not to mention they can just remove the incapacitation file component (image), since it's the body skin they mainly search anyway. I think I'd have some more issues editing the files for incapacitation if that was l4d1, since there files are different.

@Endevorix LIke is said in the description, "If any survivor mod contains a vmt file for the incapacitate image, it could cause incompatibilities, but except in very rare cases it should work without a problem." That mod includes its own incap image, that's why it appears as incompatibility, but it should not affect the game and the mod should work.

Guys, with some play with the file numbers you can make it compatible for L4D1 and your skin mods.

In L4D1 I actually didn't even use this mod, since I had to use different dimensions and positions, just editing the original file. Was trickier than l4d2

About the skin mods, it is actually an icon mod you need compatibility with, since the body skin doesn't collide here. And it is also just a game of nimbers.

Learn to work with GCFscape and vpk.exe and you will live a better life, guys.

@TwoBaton This is a limitation of the game. It only allows to display a fifth player. Even if others are added, it does not show them on screen.

@Taskmaster As I said before, to move the weapons panel, I had to modify the same file that most crosshair mods use to create their ones, so they seem not to be compatible. This mod does not modify the crosshair of the game.

@Færǖn Thanks. If you're referring to this HUD, the health bars are from the game itself. The background is just color with some transparency.
If you are referring to the HUD of the images that I linked to you recently, I made them, they are not from another addon.

@Færǖn Well, I am currently working on another HUD with the changes that have been suggested to me by several users for my Left Vertical HUD. As there are quite a few, I have preferred to make a new one, with horizontal and vertical versions. Maybe that sounds good to you.
