at few places. like the sewer area or the scrap wall ramp behind the city theres a lot of errors. this wasnt like this before.

One small problem with the map, there doesn't appear to be a City Administrator office, only a broadcasting room. Generally you would want a meeting table, a lounge and an office for the City Administrator.

Even better if the office is on the outer parts of the nexus overlooking the plaza and an elevator leading directly to the ground floor, CA should be able to easily accept visitors.

How do you open the Combine doors?

Ok, turns out the lighting was bugged. I saw lighting as I had a newer bsp locally which overrode the addon. All fixed now (I hope) :)

Thanks for your input :) I'll take all of this into account when I come back to it (I do from time to time)

I also think an important part of the process is to leave it & come back to it, and keep refining it until it looks good similar to an artist making a painting. It's not always something that can be done on the first try.

(part 2) maybe a few manhack mounts on the wall like in HL2. As for the factory, maybe try creating some metal scaffolding out of brushes that zigzag around the building and to different heights- the kind a factory manager might walk around on. (Edit: I see you have a little bit of that, but try making it darker colored and varying in height perhaps). The theater could use a bit darker lighting and different wall textures for sure (even if there's a lightswitch, theaters never have that much lighting nor wallpaper on the walls). All in all I'm glad someone took up the task of editing this map; I did not realize they were authorizing edits. I hope my tips help. Whether you implement these is up to you. I am just looking for a high level of detail. :)

By professional I mean more detailed. So for example, in the 6th screenshot, which is an added portion, I'm noticing large chunks of geometry which looks more like the rough level blockouts found in the HL2 Beta. A Valve level artist working on a final version would probably use concrete props to make the road & building look believably destroyed. The 7th screenshot is better but could still be improved perhaps by adding a slanted roof to that shorter building so that the level doesn't look as blocky. The combine garage and factory screenshots look too wide-open to be believable. Areas with this much utility usually have intricate details- try a few car lifts or something for the garage, maybe a window where mechanics go, some combine lights, lockers,

The “Nexus” is meant to be small because factions aren’t meant to sit around in the Nexus for hours on end. They’re either meant to be doing a job in the Nexus and then moving on, or doing stuff outside :)

That’s mostly why I decided to trim the fat off of the Nexus a bit.
