I'm back to glaze this mod again.
It's really good.
Glazing complete.

Okay this mod is absolutely awesome and I've been using it basically every playthrough. It's absolutely insane how underrated / underused it is, though I suppose it is rather cheesy, especially if combined with embrasures. I've found so many hilarious and wonderful tactics with this.
Best part is most of them kinda just... make sense? Even though they're often functionally more cheesy than more typical rimworld tricks, the "yup that's literally how things have been or could be done irl" factor just makes it feel less cheesy.
It's literally just a wall you stand on, then get off of and behind to avoid getting blasted to hell. Just stick an embrasure in front of it and you've got how a lot of actual fortifications were designed.

yep no compatible with CE does something to pathing i believe

@Dr Jimothy Pawns cannot gain cover from things they stand on. That is the only thing it warns about.

I'm still confused, perhaps my brain's a bit goopy from failed trauma savant attempts.

A player puts down a sloped wall and then makes a pawn climb on top of it. They then circle that sloped wall with barricades, embrasures, chunks, anything that counts as cover.
Is the pawn still protected by that cover, and it's just that the sloped wall doesn't provide any *additional* cover.
Or is the pawn not protected by that cover, and it's that the sloped wall prevents benefiting from cover from *other* things. The pawn is just as vulnerable as they would be if there were no sources of cover around the slope they're stool on.

@Dr Jimothy If a pawn is standing on a slope, it will not provide cover. They will have to stand next to them

I love this so much.
Out of curiosity, when it says "edges provide no cover to those standing on them", does that mean that someone won't benefit from cover between them and whoever/whatever they're shooting at?

Make a wall of embrasures around your base. Oh no, that lets enemies shoot in- not if you slap some sloped walls down behind them.
I love this mod.

Wait... how do you know which side you can be shot from? It looks the same no matter what to me.

Mlie  [author] 28 May, 2022 @ 10:24pm
@Tirith Amar No idea, I dont use CE
Tirith Amar 28 May, 2022 @ 9:27pm
Compatible with combat extended?
Lurmey 15 Feb, 2022 @ 7:17am
Oh wow, thanks! You're the best! :D
Mlie  [author] 15 Feb, 2022 @ 4:23am
@Lurmey Sure, should be added now. Im no artist but hopefully it will look okay.
Lurmey 14 Feb, 2022 @ 10:00pm
Hey Mlie, would you consider adding reinforced versions of these walls when VFE-S is loaded? My defensive line has 3000hp walls but requires these 750hp ridges to access the turrets, which are a major weak spot!
VelxraTV 22 Sep, 2021 @ 2:27pm
oh this looks interesting. now enemies can walk over these walls and right into the kill zone.
