Can confirm this is broken - It causes random collisions with things, even if it's not nearby.
KEJWII 1 Jul @ 11:05am
I see that this mod is from 2021 and now I see it while browsing mods... but I'm still glad that someone decided to make an "updated og forcefield" mod
decom70 30 Mar @ 3:07am
Hey, I think your collision issues are back. I use these for my base on mars. When my Rover so much as nudges these forcefields, it explodes into a million pieces and gets sent into the stratosphere.
vili.paakkari 18 Mar @ 11:45am
I hate to be that guy, but any chance of getting a 25 block version? I am planning on a 3 km long capital ship that houses three 600 m ships
jivaii 29 Jan @ 4:46pm
Would small grid versions be off the table?
MeatServo 23 Dec, 2024 @ 2:31pm
With several models of Forcefields on the workshop I tend to like this one the most. Is it possible though to change the color of open to something other than transparent?

I love the look of having the shields visible. If so I'm sure it's something simple. Apologies if it's been asked already.
MattBAX 16 Nov, 2024 @ 7:03am
@Sargonnas hello sir! any chance you could share the change that fixed the gates?
trying to help fix the Hangar Door mod on the MP server I play on.
GigaCars 6 Nov, 2024 @ 11:31am
basically if we manage it, forcefields*

*ship ones i mean
dragonsphotoworks 6 Nov, 2024 @ 7:54am
open = hole
Closed = wall
Sargonnas  [author] 6 Nov, 2024 @ 6:37am
if you open the force field ships can go through. if the force field is close then they cannot.
GigaCars 4 Nov, 2024 @ 10:45pm
if it didn't keep grids from going through i would definitely use this a lot

although it would be too complex

i am seeing corridor forcefields with this though
MADJOE74 29 Oct, 2024 @ 5:10pm
Thanks man, you made my day
dragonsphotoworks 29 Oct, 2024 @ 2:31pm
Thank you Sargonnas!!
Sargonnas  [author] 29 Oct, 2024 @ 1:07pm
Hangars should be fixed now.
KarlThorsten89 28 Oct, 2024 @ 2:04pm
Ah, okay. Baby comes first. And congratulations!
dragonsphotoworks 28 Oct, 2024 @ 1:42pm
Move and Baby first. While I really want update. I dont want it before your life requirements. Take care of what need to first then fix mod when can. And congrats on baby! Ive had 4 "well wife technically had them lol" so I know your excitement.. and fears hehe
Sargonnas  [author] 28 Oct, 2024 @ 1:33pm
I am. Just in the middle of a move and a baby on the way. I need to research into what keen changed so I can fix it. It will be fixed though.
KarlThorsten89 28 Oct, 2024 @ 11:11am
I think the mod author isn't working on mods anymore...
KarlThorsten89 25 Oct, 2024 @ 12:43pm
Yeah, almost all hangar force field and door mods are broken due to the Contacts update - the doors are flipped and shown on the wrong side of the block or invisible, though they do technically work otherwise, it just looks really weird.
The mods need to be updated by the uploaders, unless Keen patches the game on their end.
pierce3383 21 Oct, 2024 @ 1:08pm
Textures are there, just projected 180 degrees around. Field pn/off (open/closed) works normal if the block is turned on. I use about a dozen of these across a small star cluster (wormholes!) and it would be a pain to switch to another mod.
KarlThorsten89 19 Oct, 2024 @ 7:06pm
BUG DISCOVERED: The force fields project a blue energy field - on the opposite side of the projectors, and thus it goes through any blocks there. Harmless, but it looks really weird and bad. Please look into it. Also, the force fields start off closed by default.
Same happens with hangar doors, modded or not.
Possibly a problem introduced with the new update and DLC.
MADJOE74 18 Oct, 2024 @ 11:41pm
most Hangar Door and forcefield mods are broken.... :-( pls fix
Sam Klein 16 Oct, 2024 @ 5:10pm
What the guy below me said, the forcefields appear inverted during the opposite open/close cycles. Hopefully this gets fixed
Ethanmatrix 15 Oct, 2024 @ 8:07pm
The recent update made the texture of the force field disappear. Any chance we can get a fix?
SadNac 28 Jun, 2024 @ 4:42pm
Is there any chance to update this mod? I believe airtightness is gone due to new updates.
Abacus 26 Dec, 2023 @ 5:36am
I am trying to setup a printer to print a ship that uses this and the blocks keep getting built into the printer head even with a window right in front of the welder. Any ideas about how to prevent this?
Canadian Winter 19 Dec, 2023 @ 2:14pm
Still having issues with the force fields looking pink... Is this possibly a load order issue? Anyone else having this problem?
VassLord 8 Aug, 2023 @ 11:50am
How do they stand up to damage? Projectiles? Bullets? Explosions? Impacts?
dragonsphotoworks 22 Jul, 2023 @ 9:13pm
Open Lets you pass, stops air
Closed Stops air and you
Off lets you and air pass

If I recall correctly.
Sworn 22 Jul, 2023 @ 4:23pm
wait what? There is only open close on the item, open you can pass and air pass, close nothing pass you and air. How would it has a third state with only open close option?
dragonsphotoworks 21 Jul, 2023 @ 11:22am
Thew shields do block air and allow you through them. They work like doors. So when they are.. I forget what color you can go through. But when different they will act like a wall to you.
Sworn 21 Jul, 2023 @ 9:49am
Oh got it. Didn't realize that was a side block that doesn't do anything, we don't even need side block. They shouldn't have open close option though.

Ah :(, though that was a pass through field that kept air in but let you go through :steamsad:
Sworn 21 Jul, 2023 @ 9:38am
How do I tell if they are working or not, I place them, some of them are green, others are purple...
For 2x2, should I use all 2x variant or should I do a 2x2 using just the 1x1 version? For they to work, to I have to have a full square with all blocks being force field?
Crimson Revenant 10 Apr, 2023 @ 3:03pm
Good for security force fields, not great for just being a intangible like shao's
Audiacious 16 Jan, 2023 @ 8:43am
Can you add angled blocks? Id love to be able to do 2x1 angle both along the face and along the side of a 2x1 or 1x1, I do know it would be hard to do along the side though.
shawn4games 29 Oct, 2022 @ 8:54pm
Nvm
shawn4games 29 Oct, 2022 @ 8:52pm
I can't find the corner block for the forcefield
dragonsphotoworks 12 Oct, 2022 @ 8:38pm
Looked at mods and looked good.
dragonsphotoworks 3 Oct, 2022 @ 2:40pm

Sargonnas  [author] 3 Oct, 2022 @ 6:57am

JoeSheridan 24 Sep, 2022 @ 3:42pm
Nice :) Thank you for doing that :) Looks way better again :)
Sargonnas  [author] 22 Sep, 2022 @ 8:37pm
Updated Forcefield texture. No longer pink. Looks more like it did originally.
Xeno 10 Sep, 2022 @ 9:39am
Ours are super bright blue as well. Blindingly so.
Thundercraft 19 Aug, 2022 @ 2:47am
Is that update still planned?
Valarauk 20 Jul, 2022 @ 5:42pm
Any update in the works for the pink forcefields?
Kittamaru 3 Jul, 2022 @ 5:04pm
Hey @Sargonnas just a heads up... in addition to the texture issue, it seems that these doors will occasionally suck grids in like a black hole and demolish them (just had it happen a few minutes ago). Was rather impressive lol
Sankhya 25 Jun, 2022 @ 5:40pm
Hey Sargonnas, just wanted to check if it's normal that the field itself does not take any damage?
This could be heavily exploited in a pvp situation.
I'll probably limit them somewhat but just wanted to see if you knew.
People are already theorycrafting of building ships out of it xD
Sargonnas  [author] 4 Jun, 2022 @ 4:06pm
I need to fix the texture. I’ll try to get it fixed this week.
Dleet3D 4 Jun, 2022 @ 11:55am
Why is my forcefield super bright blue?
