Yess AndiBanandi put it perfectly! I'm loving my Neki playthrough for all the same reasons! And I felt genuine emotion when scanning many of the Apex items, seeing what my little Neki thought of them... such a fantastic mod, Juni!! :luv:

I came into this expecting a crass catgirl, and did in fact get that. And then I kept playing and discovered an excellent narrative told through background details and codices. Things I had previously dismissed took on a new light as I learned more, and I found myself really getting into my character's head. It's not often that a mod or even a full game can make me do that, but I truly enjoyed this mod's hidden depths.

Lol, I'm helping my partner do the bounty missions, playing as a Neki, so I noticed the "fucky wall" change really quickly. I really love the scan dialogue, it's so fun! Props to you for taking the time to write all of it :luv:

Yeah, I toned the fuckyness down just a tiny bit while working on the translation, a few instances felt a bit too out-of-place upon revisiting some of the scan descriptions :)

when i have 2 of the elemental claw upgrades it only gives one of the resistances instead of both
ex if i have he fire and ice upgrades it's only giving me the ice resistance

Я уже несколько месяцев сама работаю над переводом, и собираюсь его опубликовать до конца Мая, так что осталось недолго ^-^
Прошло уже 7 месяцев вроде или даже больше... Жалко что нету до сих пор русского языка на этот чудесный мод... Придется играть без него( Автор молодец! Очень милый мод поулчился!

Ah, its a part of the racial ship, I should've known that. That's on me; Im using BYOS as mentioned before since it was a new mechanic to try out. But I am grateful that an alternate method is available for those that do use BYOS since it's a huge part of FU. Well thought!

I'm not really sure how to make it more obvious, though :(
The Pod is supposed to be a very unique item by design, that is intentionally impossible to obtain besides the one you get on your starter ship. I only ever added an alternate way to obtain it to accommodate players who opt to use a BYOS ship instead of the racial one :)

**update** Im partially blind I guess. While it didn't show up up for a while, I was constantly looking in the wrong slot for the Hops tech.. thought for sure that would be a 'leg' tech for the jumps. Whoops.

The pod, however, I still can not seem to find.

Hi! Been having alot of fun playing the Neki lately, but ran into a couple little hiccups- nothing that really impacts gameplay enough to be really upset about, but I do have two probably dumb questions;
Where can I find the Neki pod, and how does one select/activate the Neki Hops tech? I have scoured the C-menu and every station, but am unable to find the Pod or the tech.

- I am currently doing a playthrough with FU with a couple friends, one of their characters use the BYOS patch, which I am aware is in the 'Incompatible' list of mods, but was hoping it wasnt going to interfere in such a way.

Ever try to dress a cat? It doesn't go well. Neki dont like clothing either, i recommend using the invisible clothing in the visual slots over vanilla clothing.

Is there a way to make neki more compatible with vanilla and modded clothes? Because it looks strange when you see that bounce-bounce with non-animated clothes.

I tried BYOS a few years back and even that was a bit painful and killed my desire to do that play through, Cant imagine having to come up with something from scratch, My only real gripe is the "Flying brick" shape, Will give BYOS another look when it gets too much for me. lol

They do have their own ship though, backed by their lore (the codices in the locker at the start of the game tell you about it). Its' layout is similar to the Apex ship, but I did my best to make it feel distinct. Also, unlike the Apex ship, it goes up to Tier 11 :3

I couldn't (and still can't) do a complete redesign of the layout, because doing so would completely ruin existing characters' ships. If you don't like it, you can just use one of the supported BYOS / CYOS mods to change it :)

Really gotta say, I think Nekis the one race in Starbound for me now. XD
I downloaded Arachne, I downloaded Lamia. I downloaded a few other races and all were lacking in some way or another.
But most notably? None of them were Neki, so now im back on my 5th game playing as a Neki. Love it. XD

The amount of effort that must of gone into this pack is insane lol.

My one major request? A Neki ship please!
Not sure what a Neki ship would look like but the Neko race i have uses the tentacle ship and i dont know why but something like that feels fitting for catgirls...... would would likely be more fitting for Elves but we dont have those. XD
(A higher tier of Neki claws and armor that do more damage would be nice too.)

Anyway, years on im still loving the race. TY for making them.

I'd find it ridiculously difficult to fit into their lore/canon, I'm sorry :(
But as with other stuff like this, if anyone feels like making something like that, and even using other Neki assets as base in doing so - I'd be all for it :)

I know it's a long shot but is it possible to get a Neki variant of the Anatomy costume? Im making a sort of Museum to display all the junk i collect as i would imagine a Neki would do, but the Anatomy costume docent cover the tail or ears.

Up to T8 is vanilla, so you do it the same way you would with any vanilla race.
To upgrade to T9-T11, use the craftable items in your basic crafting menu.

Haven't been able to find any actual info on this, But just how do i upgrade the Neki ship past T6?
There is no license purchasable or craftable and the ship upgrade command has not worked for me either.

So just how do I upgrade in the T7-11 range?

I think the vanilla game already has some ancient-Egypt-themed furniture, because I distinctly remember making scan descriptions for it ^-^
As for more clothing/furniture, I honestly don't know... anything's possible :3

Oh that's nice. More people with access to mods means better content. I gotta ask though is there any more Neki clothing or furniture coming up? I always assumed their cosmetics would be Ministry related but since their furniture i've been dying for something more Egyptian themed.

I've been meaning to ask but did you do the animations for the Neki clothing? If so they are really well done. The flow and movement of the clothing really makes it pop compared to all the static clothing in game.

only mods i have that alter weapons (and just combat overall) are suppers combat overhaul. i do instinctually alternate fire though, if that matters?

From my own testing, it shouldn't give you continuous invulnerability, not even while using the fastest T1 claws, I made sure of that. If what you're describing indeed occurs, something else you have installed must be altering the way weapon stats function in the game.

If you'd be willing to do a quick mod elimination to figure out what that is - I'd be grateful, and will try to adjust for it accordingly :)

i'm not in admin, no. once i stopped swinging, i started to take damage like normal. and yeah, i did try the erchius boss, i was completely invulnerable.

Are you sure you are not in admin mode?
There should be a degree of invulnerability by design, but it should be intermittent.
You can test it by standing inside of something that deals constant damage, such as the rays of the Erchius boss.

when using the Neki-claw weapons, i become fully immune to damage. is this normal? seems rather unbalanced (so far only tested with T2 claws)

There are currently 2 Neki NPCs, you can find one of them in Apex Cities, and the other on snowy planets. Both of them can become your crew :)

You can always make a neki colony. Use anything labeled "Neki" such as tables and beds and recruit from there.

You mean, you'd like the vanilla fists to behave the same as the Neki Claws?
If so, this would be quite outside of the scope of Neki, as I intentionally try to avoid modifying any vanilla behavior as much as possible. It's possible to create a separate mod that does that, but I'm not sure of how that would affect the game's balance and other aspects I'm probably not even aware of.

Would it be possible to make all fist weapons behave like the Neki claws? While i preferred the old behavior of just pressing the button and both claws swinging at their max speed i can understand the changes made to make them individual. Love the uniqueness of first weapons but i'd frankly prefer to hold to attack instead of clicking so dam much. Is that possible in the future?
