Cool! I've always advocated for player choice in the antagonist (not just male, not just female). Kudos.

I'd actually prefer NO voice over, over AI voice over. Also the use of voice changer tools would be possible.
But maybe I can somehow turn off the AI voice in the mod.

I just tried this mod and the npc talk over each other in the tutorial. I noticed other people have the same issue. Just letting you know.

Okay, at the risk of sounding dumb how exactly do you apply on of the other portraits you've posted on Nexus? Downloading one of your Nexus files and putting it in the mod folder did nothing; it didn't even show up on the mod list at the title screen.

In the career when you die there is a "I have lost him" in the game over message.

@HungryHedgehod: Yes, I actually did that for the tutorial. But I don't know which lines throughout the game where they use the 'he' pronoun. If you can tell me which missions where they do it, I can reconstruct new lines (but maybe not subtitles)

Is there a possibility to edit the audio of other people so they stop misgendering you? Kinda like with the Lady D mod for Deus Ex? In that they looked for s sounds and put them infront of "he" for example.

I second volunteering for voice acting. I have some experience voice acting for indie projects but not really a comprehensive portfolio. my mic isnt the best in the world either but Im willing to try and see how it turns out.

no VA experience and my mic is by no means wonderful but voicing sounds fun! should i like, shoot you a voice sample or something?

TY b/c my "toon" is a memorial to a fallen friend - and well, It's weird after playing her in other games to be forced to play her as "mason" ... I see your point about the scrapped story but see nothing in it that couldn't have had a character creator - at least for freelance mode if nothing else- more like the beginning of HBS battletech.
In addition; I bought thsi for my wife to play as well - she liked mwo- and borderlands, so- mw5 is pretty much... those two combined.
Now she ca play as her old MWO character - not as Mason.

question: pm me if there's an easy way to give mechwarriors callsigns - the current names irk me.

and lastly; I was actually looking at voice actors for my own projects - so far I just found this, and the youtube video sounded really good in most parts.
Would you like me to see what I can do? I can all but guarantee a couple of my streamer buddies ; if not voice actors; would do it for the +1 to your work.

no it isn't, it's the Kanea portrait in this mod. You must be running another mod then

Portrait is in an anime style instead of any of the images in the screenshots. Is this intentional?

A mandatory mod for me, thank you! Made MW5 that much more playable for my first playthrough.

I feel way more comfortable and can identity more with the immersion they intended before cutting a female protag during development.

The AI voice in this mod has better voice acting than the actual original protagonist's voice actor in this game, lmao.

Hey, ive added you trough steam so we could talk about this mod, if it interests you, id like to request a new version published to a few more new possible faces to this mod.

@DJ_Edyo: Unfortunately tinkering with the other dialogue would mean changing up the actual voice. So the character would all of a sudden change to a different voice and then other people would complain about that.

I cannot change the cinematics unfortunately.

its a big mistake form PGI to have canceled such a crucial character customisation feature for this title, i can finally feel comfortable & identify more whit the pilot im playing as ! Thanks !

Some of the game start dialog's & cinematics are super corny because everyone calls you "Boy" or "Son", considering this female protagonist replacement mod you making, fixing this whit gendrer-neutral pronons like "kid" or "commander" or silence them, would make this mod so much more immersive !

sumdwed, it's just putting the .wem files manually in the modoverride folder with the same structure as the wwise content folder instead of doing all that through the editor.

I have been dying to do pilot voice editing for a while now. Just curious how you figured out how to replace the audio? Great mod though!
