Cool mod idea adding the hidden villages! Looking forward to seeing alternate leader Tsunade some day. She's my fav and she also spent by far the longest time as hokage in the series.

On other notes, this coming update will give minor tweaks to Naruto and the Leaf, they are small changes but are attempts to make them more balanced, which should hopefully make this mod more palatable. ( Making this mod, I have to play a delicate balancing game between making a balanced civ and being faithful to the source material. ) Unless further changes to balance the mod are needed in the future, expect this update to be the last major update concerning the Hidden Leaf civ's core gameplay, as after it, I now consider this mod to essentially be 100% complete.

Lastly, I'd like to announce, for this is the part that may excite people the most; I have a finalized, completed draft of an Akatsuki mod that will be coming soon. Though you will need to keep the Secret Societies game mode on to be able to play with it.

In the coming near future, expect updates to come soon, regarding the other four Naruto civs, all changes related to balance and flavor.

Hello, it has been a long while since this mod had an update. I hope you are all enjoying the mod :>

I am releasing a major update in 3 days (the 16th), the primary purpose is to fix an error that has escaped my nose for too many months, the Palace does not render properly and instead displays a giant red exclamation mark in its place after reaching the Classical Era (Special thanks to the streamer Grant Smith for this, watching the archives helped me notice this error), it is a small error that won't affect gameplay, but nonetheless it is an error I am committed to solving because it bothers me greatly. As I am unsure if my solution will fix the issue entirely, If the Palace still does not appear after this update, I will release a follow-up update as quickly as possible to find another way to address the issue immediately so that the Palace appears properly.

Minor update coming tomorrow.... I think I finally figured out why the Naruto mods were having incompatible errors with mods that mess with recon promotions.... and I traced it back to the Hidden Leaf mod.... (and it's because of a stupid mistake, the result of a part of the code i totally forgot to look at and update, which should've been updated last year.... hhhh smh boa xD i'm so sorry for everyone who was inconvenienced by this ;-;)

火影忍者的漩涡鸣人——木叶文明模组的简体中文的本地化终于完成并上线啦!包括所有的背景故事在内,都已经完成了中文翻译。相较于我帮Boa大佬汉化的上一个作品——雾隐文明模组,本模组繁体中文部分的人物/事物名称尽可能以香港繁体的译名为标准进行修正,尽量减少了直接将简体中文繁体化的操作,所以本次汉化工作花了我更久的时间,希望大家见谅!

The localization of the Simplified/Traditional Chinese version of Hidden Leaf Mod is finally completed and online! Including all the background stories, they have been translated into Chinese. Compared to the last mod I helped Boa translate - Hidden Mist Mod, the names of characters/things in this HK-localization have been revised as much as possible according to the transliteration of Hong Kong Traditional Chinese, minimizing the direct conversion of Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese, so this translation work took me a longer time, I hope everyone can understand!
Finally, if anyone finds any errors or improper places in the Simplified/Traditional Chinese part during the gameplay, please feel free to give me feedback!

Minor update coming tomorrow!!! ....unless you're Chinese/speak Chinese, then this should be an extremely important and massive update for you!!! (Oh and I also changed/tweaked some of the historical moments art for flavor purposes)

Pretty much yep, I still haven’t figured it out, and if I attempted to, by myself it’d prob take several months to learn, time better spent updating and releasing mods (learning lua by myself would prob be faster) 😓

Honestly, help from another modder who’s good at custom models would really help out tbh (If I already had custom models I would’ve included them in the screenshots), I was looking into them before uploading this mod, but the end result was nothing + me scratching my head 🥲

That also goes for the other Naruto civs who have improvements as their unique infrastructure, how nice it would've been to see the Sand and Cloud with their buildings in its original aesthetic in all their glory 😭

If by “naruto world” you mean a playable map based off the naruto world, sure I’m all for it! Just that I’d rather not be the one to have to work on it 😓 it’s something I’d rather let another modder handle… (that being said, I am already working on a city-states mod, that’ll be the next Naruto mod released)

I found a way to potentially solve compatibility issues that may be caused by the Shinobi’s CS per promotion (I will release the fixes for the other four as well, just at a later date than the 9th if I can’t apply them all today)

Hmmm, that is weird, I don't experience the same issue (and i have that mod which is active for like, basically my entire modding session)

Maybe try unsubbing then subbing to my mod, the files probably didn't download properly x-x

Mod load conflict. If I want to start the game with both mods active. It crashes the loading of the game back to main menu

Can you specify what issue it is? If the error you're referring to is the unit animation, then that's already (mostly) been solved...

Major update coming 3 days from now! (2nd of November)
Along with some minor tweaks to the civ ability, I've decided to remove that yields bonus Naruto has per city-state and alliance, and replace it with a diplo policy slot..... it's more fitting to canon material, and much less OP

Also, i'll update the screenshots when i release this update

UPDATE: I will be releasing the update early, as in an hour or a few hours from the posting of this comment. I've noticed since yesterday, that my laptop where I made this mod has been hit with.... something that slows its entire performance down, that I have not been able to solve with conventional methods, so I will need to reformat it, hence why I will be releasing the updates before doing so.

I also believe it will be better for more people that I release the updates first so that they can enjoy it, and so that the issues with my laptop will not delay its scheduled release tomorrow. It should be great news for those who love playing this mod too, as they'll essentially be getting new features a day early.

As always, feedback is appreciated, although if I were to change something in the near future (hopefully I don't, but if needed then I hope it'll be a minor tweak), it'll have to wait till my laptop is back running properly in good condition.

Major update coming this coming Monday! Needed to make some rebalances, so I made tweaks to the Shinobi (once again. hopefully this will be the last major one tho cause i have another mod unrelated to naruto that i need to attend to that i agreed to help with a while back)

Also toned down Naruto's ability btw (the part that gives CS to units)

First of all thanks for your effort delivering this unique mods.
As you can see from my frequent post I am finally Play-Testing :)))
Given some specific comments for individual civs

My global comments are:

- switching promotion tree from swordmen (melee) to Shinobi (recon) loses the progress the swordmen achieved...
- very overpowered today already. Maybe CS scaling like vampire could be used?

Alternative:
- shinobi from the start as scout replacment keeping the recon promotion tree and achieved progress
- completely separate unit With unique or monk promotion tree?

For commenters’ reference, and so I have an idea of what the reception to this will be like in advance, here is Naruto’s new upcoming leader ability: “+100% Diplomatic Favor and Influence points from governments, alliances, and city-state suzerainties. +15 Combat Strength to all units outside enemy territory. +2% to all non-Food yields for each city-state suzerainty and +5% for each alliance. Alliances provide shared visibility. Gain the Mechanized Shinobi unique unit with Combined Arms.”

Anyway, I’m posting this comment for one reason: I’m in the final phases of a big update coming for all the Naruto mods I’ve made so far, and for reasons I will explain in the following days, I’ve rewritten some of the original bonuses of Naruto’s leader ability.

It would be weird if there was one, the code is structured in a way such that the code for recon promotions and the Hidden Leaf civ ability are separate

I played around with one such mod recently (Epstweak for Recon Units), no problems playing a Naruto civ with that mod on :>

Just some more comments from my side on the topic of promotions.
The village unique effects like see through woods overlap with what promotions bring to the table.
I have some mods which change the recon promotion tree regardless. I think I will use them. Do you see any conflicts between this mods

Nope sorry, I figured the recon promotions were good enough considering that ninjas in Naruto canonically already do the work that our world's scouts do, and I can't come up with a good unique promotion tree for shinobi that would make them stand out from other recon units... that and, the Ambush and Guerilla promotions already make the shinobi in practice terrifyingly OP, so ye

I am in the process of working on some big updates for all the Naruto mods (especially the Mist) right now though, that'll include some balance tweaks and other things to the shinobi unit soon

This was really fun to play. The music for naruto’s civ is really nostalgic and when you finally unlock ninjas…damn it was fun. Would love to see akatsuki as a civ. Or the tailed beasts as heroes. Hahah this was solid. Well done.

Minor update coming tomorrow! This morning I did a bit of comparing with Gorgo and Naruto's leader abilities and decided to make a minor nerf to Naruto's diplomatic policy bonus (will cut it down from +2 to +1)

I've spent the last few days tweaking a lot of things to improve this mod, particularly in the civ ability, the leaf shinobi, and naruto's leader ability!

As for the comments I must inevitably respond (im sorry for keeping you waiting, ive been busy xD):
Yes Odahviing, I will be making the other minor villages in a mod, they will come in a single mod as city-states (That includes the hidden rain, and yes pyromecho, the hidden sound.... as for if i should make those two playable civs cause i've been getting requests for that.... no plans at the moment, maybe in the not-so-near, but not-so-far future i'll do one but don't rely on it, tho i personally don't mind if someone else does makes them major playable civs, basing it off my naruto mods also, i also don't mind!)

Also, yes chinese translation coming very soon! This mod is literally the next one that will get a translation! (After the Mist, which already has one)
