Hi, i have a question. I read that the sentries respawn, but do they have to be marked as essential for that?

When I first enter castle Volkihar with Serana the npc's inside all attack these two death hounds that are essential and it ruins my quest. Does this have anything to do with Dawnguard Sentries?

I love mods like this. They make the world come alive (and in this case make the Dawnguard useful, for a change).

I did as you said, and my Sentries are still running off. It is likely that I have to switch the order. Did you also know that Run for your lives has been modified so it can subsitute for both?

Great mod. Very immersive to see all these patrols . This should have been part of the DLC.

With this mod vampire attacks has been vanished completely. Minus! + 2guys from dragonborn dlc who spawn in fron of u , with - U are dragonborn? , dont spawn anymore , 39lvl and no spawn, cas start dlc Minus?. help pls. Sorry fro my bad eng ty.

After unsubscribing from this mod the sentries are still there which doesn'
t bother me too much. The problem was they are immortal and in Markarth...so when you escape from cidna mine a never ending battle takes place between them and the forsworn. Which I DO mind.

How the hell do I remove the sentrys all together? or turn off their immortal status? Or just remove them from marcarth? If you can reply and help me that'd be great. Thanks.

You should think to add Sentries to stables outside cities - this death hounds are very nasty

I had tried the older version of this mod from Nexus a couple of years ago and it worked, but was causing serious navmesh issues in Whiterun and some other cities, so I had to uninstall it. I'll give this version a shot and see what happens. Having to go around carefully searching every nook of an area after vampire attacks for dead NPC's to res them got old long ago. I need some backup from Dawnguard. haha

Mod isn't actually THAT small. :) Well, compared to Interesting NPCs...

OK getting serious here. The MCM is so you can enable and disable various settings (essential or no, disable certain parts to help compatibility with mods like Immersive Patrols...). If you wanta simpler version that doesn't require that, check out Dawnguard Sentries Classic. I made that version for people who didn't want to mess with SkyUI, Both versions require Dawnguard though (obviously, lol).

No hate or anything, I want to try it, but I don't want to install 10 new programs to use 1 small mod. (Yes I like to make everything over dramatic) Is it compatiable with my game ven if I don't have SKSE, MCM menu or SkyUI?

Love this mod do you have any idea if this conflicts with more people in skyrim dawnguard? Since I feel both mods work really well together and yet I don't want to botch my game. >_<

OK, folks, after a couple days of feedback on the 3 sites I've got this file at (here, the Nexus and LL), and verifying that the latest changes fix the few remaining issues that were on my end, I now have a "Lite" version available; Dawnguard Sentries Classic. It cn be found here on Steam or on the Nexus DL page for this mod

The "Classic" version has no MCM, does NOT require SKSE or SkyUI, and removes the exterior sentries, road patrol between Riften and Ft Dawnguard and the recruits & vampire guards. That makes it as compatible as possible with mods like Immersive Patrols. Sentries in the capitals are still there, as are Sentries in Riverwood, Dragon Bridge, Ivarstead and Shor's Stone.

It also incorporates all the latest AI improvements and is Open Cities and Interesting NPCs compatible.

update: I managed to get rid of the vampirism. For anyone else that might happen to encounter this, I force started the "Rising at Dawn" quest through the console - player.setstage VC01 100.
You'll need to have a full black soul gem to bring to Falion, but he did the ritual and cured it. w00t!

They only have the standard vampire drain, and at apprentice level, so it's not very strong.. The only change I made to them vs normal vampires was changing the sun damage "spell" that makes vampires take damage in sunlight. They're just weaker during daytime instead. Sounds like either a mod conflict or the game just glitched on you

the new "dhampirs" outside a castle volkihar gave me vampirism instantly, without the incubation period. And I can't get rid of it with quest or console. Does this fancy new version of vampirism you gave the "dhampirs" have a console tag so i can remove it?

OK, so I was kinda harsh there. You did ask why SkyUI though not for a version without it. I've gotten that question a few too many times too considering I put it at the top of the description.

Setting aside my gripe with those who don't read though, I actually asked in the Steam forums if there was any interest in a SKSE and SkyUI free "basic" version of the mod and got no respsonses at all. A MCM free version means no road patrol, no sentries outside of Solitude and Riften (due to conflicts with other mods), no ability to toggle the Sentries to essential... It's alot of lost functionality.

It's easier to strip things out of a mod than add them in though, so I'd be willing to do it if there was an actual demand for it.
