There is a mod called HotbarFactor_java that requires a manual installation but changed this hardcoded 30% weight reduction to be changed again. Maybe update this mod to include it?

@NotTildaSwinton TBH I have no idea. This is in java class file, I don't know how java works in terms of decompiling and recompiling. It would however probably break some other weapon extensions features, as they did this for a reason I assume.

Is modifying the base game's files to undo the implementation of "getScriptItem().getActualWeight()" something very hard to do for people who play single player and have practically no experience with programming? Would it even be possible? Sorry if this is a very silly question... I am just very sad that they broke this mod

TIS changed one of the methods in a way they should not have, because it is just bad programming. I submitted this as an error on TIS forums, but got no reply from the devs. I see no other way to achieve the functionality. You can try to put some pressure on TIS. Here's my report:

Rip, i loved this mod, it made using the belt slots and holsters bearable by not punishing by making praticaly the entire gun's weight into your main inventory.
Back to not using holster at all and having to grab the gun in and out of the backpack every single time so i dont get weighted down by the 2 ton loaded 19mm pistol.

R.I.P this mod will be dearly missed . Some of the weight set by game vanilla game are straight up ridiculous and this mod helped a lot to mitigate that without editing every items weight separately

Dear subscribers, changes made by patch 41.73 unfortunatelly killed EHT. I'm very sorry, but it is no longer possible to perform modifications needed for the mod to work, unless TIS change certain implementations. :stress::hunky_skull:

Important! Following numerous requests mod's setting moved to SandboxOptions from the in-game options. Mod Options mod is no longer required for Eggon's Holsters Tweaker.
I'm sorry for any inconvenience resulting from reset of values mid-game. You can change the values back to the desired ones using Change Sandbox Options mod.

@Johrdan720 @Popcorn Chicken Sorry guys, but I'm only planning to release a remake of one of my existing mods and will retire from the modding activity. I no longer have time for it. BTW I thought there were numerous backpack mods. Don't they address your needs?

@FatherSarge You are right - if this was my job and I was paid for it - that's what I would do. But I'm just a hobbyist, so other factors come at play - such as I don't want to spam my workshop with legacy mods and that I like having 5 star mods in it and it took a pretty long time for the EHT to get to them. Don't want to start from scrach in that area. :stress:
@TeeJay Actually I have only recently found out about it. I'm not actively monitoring PZ ecosystem. But indeed this might be a loophole to address the transition problem.

So guys (also @Coconutsales and @PhantomDgen), will you buy me a few ko-fis if I make the update? ;)

In-game edit compatibility would be great for people starting new games. Eventually, all of the people using the Legacy version should move over to the updated one as they start new games, so it'd be less and less an issue.

@Eggon, there is a mod to change sandbox settings midgame, as im sure you know of :)

If people get mad because updates breaks theyre game, they should stop playing modded IMO, and even then, you have no garauntees that a update wont break your save.

If ppl want to play old version mods, they should backup the 108600 folder, and copy into /user/zomb/workshop using workshop id`s.. if they cant be bothered to do or learn that, they should not be priviliged to complain. again, IMO

Eggon you could release a new version of this mod with the fixes you want to make and leave this one as a "Legacy" version for people that want to keep using it/have active save games with it.

eh.. is it such an big issue for people not being able to change a setting like that mid game? I mean, i can see trough it. But there is mods like customizable containers which do a very smilar thing changing WR and i think it works just fine as a sandbox setting and just being able to change once on world creation. You made your point, but i feel i trust more on the reliability of putting on a sandbox setting and just going with it and maybe tweak it another run than having a fuzzy client setting which i cant rely and sometimes work and other times dont just for the convenience of putting it mid game. Well hopefully maybe i can find a workaround to make it reliably work when i am on my hosted server with my friends...

@PhantomDgen I should have done it this way, but then I didn't know how. Now it is too late - the problem is such a change would reset settings for all started games and people would not have a way to change them back, because sandbox settings are only available at the game's start. :(

Fair enough, but it seems even when i change the WR on the modoptions, it stays the default WR when im playing on server, it doesnt changes to what it should be... would be cool to be able to change such setting on sandbox so we could put an hard locked setting for the world and server

Sorry, I don't check my mods after every little update. You need to use the weapon for changes to get applied. Unattach/attach, equip/unequip.

i noticed increasing holster reduction from 75 to 100 seemed to be about the same weight reduction (when looking at the weight at the top of my inventory), but i cant confirm for sure

The numbers mean weight reduction, the higher number, the lighter the weapon

@Vestined Yes, you need to use the item for the weight to change after you change options value.
I see. That might have some side effects though - like affect clothing, possibly bags? IDK if it has, but it might. Yeah, I should have done it with sandbox options, but at that point I didn't know how. :)

Actually I found out the problem: when you change the values they aren't applied immediately. After logging out and back in again they changed. Didn't investigate too much honestly.
As for my submod, it basically differentiates between Holster and NON holster instead of the specified belt items... I basically transformed the 'elseif' of that function in an 'else', nothing too complicated. I would actually like to control this server-side, so the players won't use this to cheat and set everything to 100%. If I have time I might take a jab at doing that using sandbox options instead of mod options too. Thanks again for your mod!

@Vastined I'm glad you were able to fix it. You might have not been messing up anything - it might have been some update issue of steam/server. I don't think they are very stable and reliable.

I actually re-tested it and it indeed works, I don't really know what I was messing up. Also made a submod for it to make it work for other types of attachments, thanks for your work!

@Vastined I just tested on a hosted server and it worked. It is all client code, it has no reason not to work. Maybe the mod didn;t load properly? Did you have any errors?

Eggon i got the problem solved, apparently it wasn´t from your mod, I´m really embarrassed for bringing this problem to you, so I will subscribe and give all my support to this mod because it wasn´t your fault and this mod does work on my game, it just was a problem with other mod (I don´t know how because they don´t mess with combat and holsters) I won´t bother you anymore, have a nice day and happy new year (In my country today is new year lol). :steamfacepalm::steamhappy:

@Loli Bite I'm glad you like it. I will add your request to my list of ideas. Just bear in mind that I do have a number of ideas in queue already :), so it might not happen soon. Back should be doable IIRC. IDK that mod, would need to check it.
