Ghovarus86 19 Oct, 2022 @ 6:16pm
Sorry to bother, but is this mod for open beta? because if it is, i cannot currently find it, and if i go back to the original game, it will remove all my mods, because all of them are compatible with the open beta.
BallinAndCantGetUp 19 Oct, 2022 @ 1:09am
also please give us the parts list for it so the car doesn't shit it self in beamng drive as when i tried it had opposite steering and when it did full degree turn the wheels fell off with a sickening snap
BallinAndCantGetUp 15 Oct, 2022 @ 2:34am
so creator could you please make a 3 axle variant and remove the baked in fixtures
BallinAndCantGetUp 15 Oct, 2022 @ 2:33am
it may be super cringe but i agree with him that its bad that it has baked in fixtures when many people may have the stuff to turn a bare truck body into exactly with the baked fixtures
Zyklon Ben 22 Sep, 2022 @ 12:04am
@The Skunk Rocker

You're super cringe
BallinAndCantGetUp 8 Jul, 2022 @ 12:23am

volltreffer1  [author] 24 Oct, 2021 @ 12:00pm
@Yorvik2904 Thank you very much, that was exactly my intention behind this mod. I know that there are some shortcomings, but it was my first mod and I taught myself modding using tutorials. So thank you very much for your positive understanding.
Nandoline 24 Oct, 2021 @ 11:23am
@The Skunk Rocker They didn't exactly make the mod for you, They probably made it because they wanted to make a replica of the vehicle it was based on. Nothing more, just a side project. Instead of bitching, maybe appreciate that there even are people making mods in the first place :steamfacepalm:
POLLUTION 9000 20 Oct, 2021 @ 5:37pm
@The Skunk Rocker lol wall of text
The Skunk Rocker 16 Oct, 2021 @ 10:16am
And by the way THAT is THE absolute WORST offender: baked in fixtures?! Turn signals, auxiliary windows, fuel tanks, steps, exhaust, headlights, grills, windshield wipers, air filters, marker lights... these are things the player should be able to place. By not only forcing them AND the aforementioned paint issues... this makes it incredibly hard to do anything with the model. I just want to use my exhaust but no, we have to use yours; I tried deleting it, but it's attached to the entire body, and clear fixtures in some places can completely destroy the model.

In short I love the idea and I do want to see more semi trucks in Automation's Workshop, I really do, but this ain't it chief. I'd remove all your baked in fixtures, make some wheel base and sleeper variants, add some morphable areas, fix your paint group assignments, and overall give this baby some polish and I'm telling you it will become one of the most sought after mods for Automation. :3 (Part 3/3)
The Skunk Rocker 16 Oct, 2021 @ 10:16am
Now there are a lot of single variant no morph mods on the Workshop that function just fine and there is a reason for that, so let's move on to the paint tab. Three body paint slots and NO trim slots? And those body paint slots are the air filters (listed as "Car Bumper"), the frame steps and fifth wheel (listed as "Secondary Car") and literally everything else ("Primary Car"). Everything? Including the exhaust, minus that small bit in the frame area? Not even the trim around the windows gets listed as it's own paint area, or the deflector, or the fenders, or the BONNET? The truck HAS a bonnet, but it's not listed as it's own paint area EITHER. Not to mention the way the paint is assigned on the model making something transparent doesn't get rid of it entirely - there are artifacts assigned to other paint groups, but darkened in color to being black. So even IF there were more slots to recolor you can't get rid of the baked in fixtures! (Part 2/3)
The Skunk Rocker 16 Oct, 2021 @ 10:15am
Okay I'm going to be brutally honest with you and please don't take this personally, as I want to be as constructive as possible - this mod is great in concept and poor in execution. I honestly understand what you were going for here but there is so much wrong. Where do I even begin?

So let's begin with the fact there is only one version of this model with no variants. And hey, that's fine, but when you couple that with the fact that this model has no morphing whatsoever? It makes it not very usable. You can't put your personality and artistic vision into it. No matter what you do it will always just be a modified 78 Kenworth. I play Automation to create new vehicles, not just slap different paint jobs and grills on existing ones. (Part 1/3)
Tactical Bingus 15 Oct, 2021 @ 8:02pm
awesome mod! was wondering if it was possible to have a version were the rear wheels are moved forward a bit, it just looks a bit awkward with the wheels way in the back but otherwise i love it

volltreffer1  [author] 4 Oct, 2021 @ 10:19am
I've actually done that before, but it's very cumbersome.if you have built the vehicle in automation, you have to export it then you go to the mod folder and open the vehicle: jbeam file there you will find a tow hitch function in the middle of the file, if necessary, you have to do this with the fifth wheel beamng replace file then connect the x, y and z coordinates of the trailer coupling to the place where you would like them and repackage the front end. Unfortunately, there is no easier way to do this.

Here you have the link to one of my mods with this function,:"https://www.beamng.com/resources/tow-beast.18932/" you can copy the tow hitch code from the "Tow Beast.jbeam" and paste it into your file afterwards you just have to connect it with the coordinates.

Since I taught myself all of this, there are no possible totorials. I hope I can help somehow.
luisierizzi 4 Oct, 2021 @ 8:17am

God I hate that blue livery with flames, but this is a nice truck. Good work. Could use a smooth render mode though.

Codatronic 3 Oct, 2021 @ 11:07am
Could we get an Iron Knight or Unimog body next? either of those would be sick
Jaimz 3 Oct, 2021 @ 10:10am
Looks great. Could do one without all the fixtures in place. Window ports, wipers, light fixtures, etc.

ok, thank you very much I'll test it out soon and thank you very much for your great help.
Swartkin 2 Oct, 2021 @ 7:24pm
It's a feature in Blender, you will go to object mode, select the model and press W, then you will press Shade smooth, if the smoothing doesn't look perfect, you will go to the object data properties tab, there you will open the "normals" tab and mess with the angles there
volltreffer1  [author] 2 Oct, 2021 @ 7:18pm
shader smooth?
should i use this in blender or in unreal?
Swartkin 2 Oct, 2021 @ 7:06pm
It's looking good for a first mod! But have you used shader smooth for the model? this is why it has these sharp edges
