I know what you mean, I hate seeing something like that on other peoples mods too ...
All I can say is that as far as I know the bugs associated with custom terrains never got fixed which means their use is limited at best. That's also the reason why this mod only contains the one mentioned terrain.
>"screenshots coming soon"
For AoM the base mod is my terrain pack v1, splitted in two parts due to size limitations.
The additional terrains in this mod are only used in case you actually use my additional terrain mod, so they cav use these textures fitting my v1 instead of the default terrains.
But due to Skybox has never fixed xml file mod support completelly, additional terrains cause some graphical bugs when used as a mod. To make them work properly, you have to overwrite the edited xml files in your game direktory manually.
All the expansions in the linked collection are replacements for specific parts of my terrain pack, based on requests. So in case you think the desert river terrain is too dark in my terrain pack v1, you can use the desert river expansion that makes this part of the pack lighter and more color in color with other sand/desert terrains.
You can either do this by hand, or you can use the tool I uploaded for this:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=267618740
It just merges the selected mod content though for it is thought for combining mods that edit the same sources though.
(I was told by the devs they would fix that graphics bug soon back then.)
So to make this work, you first need to create a mod folder with the original game file(s) in it, so my tool actually merges not only the modded edits, but also adds in the default content.
That merged file is the one you need to copy to your game folder then.
If you want to try this and need more help, I'll create a short guide. :)
I know - this is a bug known (and reported to the devs) since these mods were initially published.
If I remember right, it has to do with them blocking xml files from beeing fully supported mod content.
They planned to work on fully integrating each file but never finished that as far as I know.
(Unless the other few mods adding new terrains do actually work now and I missed something.)
If I remember right, the only workaround for this is to overwrite the original game file with the modded one in your game folder - then all graphics are applied correctly.
Beside this, in mp your game setup is checked to verify it has the same state as your opponents one. This is to verify your game files are compatible and no one is cheating.
So you all need to (not) use my mod to be able to play with each other.
i play on my other account all the time and there are always people on so like if u dont like the game dont comment on things that need to come out..............
But in fact I didn't do anything regarding AoM since these mods were released.
Not enough time and not worth it while the mod manager doesn't get fixed. :(
Glad you like my stuff.
@All
Sorry for the screenshots still missing. as very busy last time and am working on my mod merger when I have the time.
All other things will get updated/expanded after the mod mergers release.
I worked on a tool that merges changes to xml files from multiple mods into single custom xml files and creates a new custom mod for these.
You can find the discussion here .
In case you have any ideas and/or suggestions or know AoMs xml files a bit (I need themed xml file groups and lists for the fitting xml files), please take a look. :)
Screenshots kommen wenn ich mehr Zeit habe.
