Hey, I have a problem with the mc. It tracks the target horizontally but It cant go up/down,
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 24 Mar, 2023 @ 5:53pm
@corporal thanks!
corporal 24 Mar, 2023 @ 10:00am
I linked it and gave credits. It is used in my UAV. Thanks so much for this good work.

@Goobs thank you for pointing that out. I do use velocity pivots because they can go beyond limits of robotic pivots. Because of my lack of knowledge of Lua, I have to use primarly just logic functions and there are moments where I don't know what to do next as well.
This is never going to beat other workshop creations but it's here in case someone likes it even through its imperfections.
Goobs 10 Sep, 2022 @ 6:31pm
These MCs lack a method to stabilize the vertical/Y velocity pivots, and to not deal with configurations that are front or rear heavy at all. This is the main reason velocity pivots are terrible for Y axis of turrets.
Novaa 4 May, 2022 @ 8:15am
Well as I said, if I invert it, then it goes up instead.
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 4 May, 2022 @ 6:26am
Then I assume it is too much weight on front of your gun. Pivot can't handle the weight so it keeps going down. May be caused by too much weight on pivot (add another pivot to the other side), wrong gear ratio, too low electric charge or just try better balance the gun.
Novaa 3 May, 2022 @ 11:19am
The problem is that the gun (X axis) aims at the target but the barrel (Y axis) keeps constantly going down until it hits my vehicle.
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 3 May, 2022 @ 11:11am
So the problem is when you connect it as before, turret is locked as it is supposed but is aiming constantly too low?
Novaa 3 May, 2022 @ 9:18am
Does not seem like that has worked, if I invert the Y axis it keeps aiming up instead of down past the target.
Novaa 3 May, 2022 @ 4:02am
Will do, thank you!
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 2 May, 2022 @ 12:38pm
@Novaa seems like inverted vertical axis. Try using invert Y axis option in microcontroller or invert your vertical velocity pivot.
Novaa 2 May, 2022 @ 11:27am
Seems like it locks onto a target but then the gun keeps aiming down
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 5 Mar, 2022 @ 10:37am
Basically before you lock your target, make sure that indicators are as following:
SAFE: OFF
TRGT: ON
Then enable LOCK and it should follow target
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 5 Mar, 2022 @ 10:35am
@bagek if it stands still, you might have mastersafe ON. Mastersafe has to be OFF to enable turret movement. It also depends what radar settings do you use. Very low radar FOV is recommended. Radar with higher FOV is not that accurate in tracking targets.

It aims in front of a target when i use lock on i cant even shoot down a helicopter thats standing still maybe im doing something wrong i dont know
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 26 Jan, 2022 @ 12:43pm
Microcontroller update. I did few tweaks, however it locked targets without any problems during my testing. Make sure you follow setup and use right pivots.
earth2karson 25 Jan, 2022 @ 12:15am
its not working
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 20 Nov, 2021 @ 10:44am
@maxthepenguin it's not 100% stabilised because it uses simple functions and radar itself has some shaking effect that is then as side effect sent into pivots. This should however be visible only at high zoom, at low/medium zoom image is quite stable for me.

Your problem could be gearing in pivots. Make sure they're set to 1:1 for best rotation speed. Also use lower rather than higher radar FOV. Or try increasing sensitivity in microcontroller settings.

Let me know if anything of that helped.

Recommended radar settings? the gun itself works fine but when i enable radar tracking it doesnt really aim at the targets, so i have a feeling i have bad radar settings or something
Jasper 23 Oct, 2021 @ 1:23am
@HonzaVinCZ First off all great microcontroller!, I've found a solution for the vertical offset by adding an extra robotic pivot for elevation that only elevates the gun and not the radar. So basically the radar will center the gun on target on both X and Y axis and you can use the extra robotic pivot to elevate the gun, without touching the position of the radar. I hope the explanation is clear, if not feel free to add me so i could sent some screenshots. Cheers

Ok.Thank You for trying. Maybe try to contact the original creator of the ballistics calculator? These microcontrollers work really well, and I feel like combined they can be even better.
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 18 Oct, 2021 @ 2:24pm
@trainman1351 so I spent few hours on trying to implement that and there are problems I can't solve. It's just overcomplicated. The biggest issue is when I wanted to get weapon offset while gun is locked at radar target. There are values centering the velocity pivots and I couldn't find any way to keep turret locked and add variable offset to the pivots. I ended up having incredibly overcomplicated logic I couldn't understand myself.

Maybe sometime in the future when I get little more experience with that.
trainman1351 18 Oct, 2021 @ 12:43pm
Ok but could you provide a link in the description of this creation? It would make it easier for meto find. Thank you.
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 18 Oct, 2021 @ 6:21am
@trainman1351 It can be implemented but then there must be another pivot for camera itself. I'll try it out but if I release it, expect it to be a new controller, I want to keep this one as it is, there are already 200 people using it and it would be broken for them then.
trainman1351 17 Oct, 2021 @ 4:31pm
It is a ballistics calculator that I wanted to add to make the radar mode more long-range.

Cool that helps out quite a lot
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 17 Oct, 2021 @ 2:48am
@Meme Dealer Added property number to set sensitivity multiplier. Check for workshop updates.
Secretary of Offense 16 Oct, 2021 @ 4:07pm
Is there any way I can increase the slew rate on the controller?
trainman1351 15 Oct, 2021 @ 1:13pm
Wait....I'm stupid. I forgotto hook up the electric. Sorry for the trouble.
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 15 Oct, 2021 @ 1:01pm
@trainman1351 I know about that but I can't find ratio between the zoom and the speed of turret to keep pivots at 1:1 and also have decent turret speed. Trying to fix that as soon as possible but I succ in this kind of math little bit.
trainman1351 15 Oct, 2021 @ 12:55pm
I mounted this to a custom turret I put on the mikata class flying aircraft carrier(excellent creation), I set it all up and it works great...except the turret rotates painfully slow. The pitch is less of a problem, but is still very slow. Any way to fix this?(by custom I mean I built it myself)
HonzaVinCZ  [author] 11 Oct, 2021 @ 6:27am
@tHATbOIiNfIRSTrOW Thank you. Your gun is short in what mean?
Justus Klettermann 11 Oct, 2021 @ 3:08am
Great Microcontroller, one thing tho, i adjusted the radar to what i think fitting parameters, however, my gun (shipmounted) is somewhat short, any way to fix that?
