Yes and it would make it difficult to use the no waypoints/GPS points. However I am going to create a whole new campaign called “Hogs in The Sand” which will be based on a book of the same name. I will incorporate the best bits of Warthog in the Desert and enhance the gameplay with weather and the new units and a new map. Going to be a good few week away though

Having no waypoints is an interesting mechanic that I haven't seen anywhere else and I did like. :) Flying back and forth is what broke immersion for me a bit. Maybe ordering the player to just patrol the combat area would give more immersion, but might be complicated to implement and this mission is too old to edit at this point

Glad you enjoyed the immersive side of the mission. I try to make my missions on the more realistic simulation side of things, at least as far as VTOL VR will allow. Real world reality is a lot of time is spent in the air waiting for action, and personally I enjoy the flying / navigation aspect as well as the pure combat side of things.

Played it with the A-10. Great level of immersion thanks to radio messages related to missions, but having to fly back to the bullseye feels like a burden. Maybe because most missions can be completed with just the GAU-8 ( ) and I didn't have to rearm even once

Yea I will take a look and see if I can use the new A-10. If not I will be writing a new single player campaign either way

As of now, the way to get the A-10 back does not work, as the Mod Loader (and its required older version) are not hosted on there website anymore but are now to download on steam.
There is no beta version option to revert to an older version.

But the A-10 mod is being re-made :)
So there is hope

It's a good mission(s), missing some polish with a number of radio lines but was pretty fun to run through. My only big gripe with it are the objectives where you must kill a very closeby enemy position or three while avoiding targeting one ostensibly 'friendly'; enemy position, which don't make sense for a combination of reasons.
-Danger VERY close
-The ostensibly friendly positions are, in fact, enemies, and they can be freely killed before or after the particular objective to 'save' them
-The 'friendly' unit's relative position is only relayed (once) over the radio, and they give a somewhat useless cardinal direction which requires screwing with the nav map to figure out
-Once the objective is tripped, it will fail too quickly, because fuck you for using anything besides AGM-65s I guess? The moving tank column objective also has this issue.
-God very suddenly smites your jet with a holy invisible wall if the objective is failed

BNanaRamen. Unfortunately I don't think it's that easy. Once the raw mission files are loaded into the VTOL they cannot be extracted. I have early missions that I created that even I cannot edit due to having to reinstall VTOL.

@oliverdevon - yes you need the A10 mod but it’s broken at the moment, they are trying to fix.

According to the VtolVr discord group various mods are not working after the AH-94 update. They are working on it so guess we just have to patient.

I still havent found the bunkers on the first mission i have tried going 30 miles 30 kilometers and 30 nuatical miles and still havent found any bunkers

hey man i'm stuck on mission 2 with the destroy the scud but every time i get to that part it either doesn't spawn in or the unit spawns in i kill them all and it doesn't count.any suggestions?(btw loving the campaign so far but i'm getting annoyed at the part that dont work and then have to start again from a quick save)

For some reason I can't complete the second mission. Even tho I did all the objectives (in the end when I landed they got shown as completed) the next mission dose not get unlocked. I tryd it with out mods as well with the same results. A similar thing happened in the first mission. In the end when you need to look for the missing pilot I found him but the objective didn't get completed. Than I quite the game and for some reason the second mission got unlocked.

To get the A-10 MOD. Visit the link in description above. Download the mod loader on home page. Run the mod loader software. Open mod loader software and click mods. Search for a-10. Then press play in bottom right of mod loader screen. This will start Vtol vr. When you get to pilot selection screen in vtol there should be an item called mods. Click on it and you should see A-10. Click Load then back. Select pilot then on a/c select screen y

aalecci9 Mission 2 bug fixed. This was a random bug caused by AI aircraft attacking the tents, so will only happen now and then. However I have permanently fixed this now.

In mission 2, after completing the 2nd objective and taking out the west tent, I was heading back to the bullseye as instructed and soon got a call that I killed friendlies. Then the plane blew up. Loving this so far. Another great set of missions!
