Since many have asked for a VRO version, I will be working on one.

"Since it lacks some defensive systems compared to the Katana, it offers a slightly improved flight behavior and also more space for cargo and crew."
Currently it's just there as a slightly cheaper corvette with one shield, two guns, and it's slow.
IMO, if it's intended as a patrol-boat or personal transport it could use some better top speed and more responsiveness in terms of accelleration and manouverability than its 'bigger brother'.
I see potential in this; the game needs more m-sized shipmods.
And it's very lore-friendly, since this isn't the mining-corps Daito, but the Segaris Pioneer's version - as a medium patrol boat or more fitting: an exploration ship.
BTW you can just go to custom game (creative) and select the ship as the playership or property to view modded ships quickly.

Yes, it works fine with savegames.
With your lore of it being a re-design by a mining company, something from the civilian sector effectively, light system defense being an obvious, what about a buff on cargo or crew/marine transport? Would give it some additional function.
I get it's a stripped-down version, but with it being so utterly inferior in every way there's no reason to consider using it. The base price doesn't matter much, since you mostly pay the equipment on s- and m-ships anyways.
Since the Daito essentially has weapons and shield-capacity halved, it should have more power available to the engines. It should at least be faster than the Katana.
