my teammate doesn't see or hear anything from ping system all they hear was "right." and floating error, i can't see what they see.

@Sam For the most part, the pings are just not appearing in-game for me only when one of my survivor bot teammates spots a witch/tank (or any other special infected) from afar, or when they've found new weapons or items on their own. They work perfectly fine whenever I'm the one doing the calls out on them. That's all.

I found out that when the ai try to ping a special infected this error comes up in the console

@T626 Show a video of every occasion where pings don't appear when they should. If I remember correctly, bots don't spot weapons, so they won't trigger pings; however they should when they are pinned down by special infected. And please use the "Feedback & Suggestions" forum thread.

@Sam I'm experiencing something similar to @Colkillervin. Whenever I play on single player with bots, I noticed that the auto pings from the survivor bots vocaliztions and whenever one of them is pinned by a special infected, the pings don't appear. I've already checked inside the Left4Dead2/left4dead2/ems directory for its settings file but it's not showing up there. I've also tried repeatedly to move this mod to the highest level in my addon browser by unsubscribing and then re-subscribing to it. But that still did nothing. What else can I do to try and fix this? Because I want my pings from the command voicelines radial menu, the bots' voicelines when calling out special infected, weapons and items, and whenever any of us are pinned down by special infected, incapacitated, or dead to appear.

doesnt seem to have fixed the issue it only shows the icon when a special infected is actively pinning another survivor not when someone spots a special infected how to fix?

@Colkillervin, you might have auto ping disabled locally, delete "left4dead2/ems/ping_system.txt" file if it exists in your game files.

For some reason i cant see the icons for the auto ping when a survivor spots a special infected and whenever i play on my friends local server it shows up normally not when im the server host is there a way to fix this?

Amazing work:steamthumbsup:. I wonder if it is possible to use the warning icon manually wherever the player is looking. I think sometimes it is better to warn before seeing and aiming at an SI.

@SquidNipples, settings file is at left4dead2/ems directory.

Voice lines are independent from the ping system; automatic pings only respond to events from the game telling which survivor reacted to what. These survivor reactions play voice lines depending on circumstances (such as whether characters have played other voice lines shortly before or not).

Also, is there a setting that enables/disables voice in auto ping? Mine just stopped using voice lines for everything, even after restarting the game. Icons still appear.

I was confused as I made a file, loaded a map and saw no effect. So I started digging if there is some error on my part. At some point, loaded another map and... Wait it works now. I can't really tell the logic of it, but it does work.
And I so far love the mod.:luv:
I was giving colours for weapons trying to divide them into Tier 1, 2, 3 + None (pitchfork), a premade set could be useful if you ever feel like it is worth your time.
A command to reload the setting file could be especially useful when making colours changes(in my case I found that a lot of colours were a bit to bright or showed no difference)

@Aleksander Drako ,The files are loaded only on map load, they can't be changed while a map is already loaded. !ping_system in game chat temporarily changes settings. I can add another command to this to reload the settings file when I find time.

I can't get ping_system_settings.txt to work yet. Any hopes that there is a command that would allow me to manually load it from the map and give me error if something is wrong?

@Xeno What is the inspector view and what is the bug? If it's about size and orientation, it's not something I can change. This is mentioned in "Known issues"

@TheDoctor , type in the console "bind T +alt2", T being the key you want to bind. This setting should be automatically saved, you could also type "host_writeconfig" to ensure it is saved.

@Sam thank you very much for this fantastic mod. Just one question because i could not finish to understand. How can i set the keybind for pings? For example, bind a key for when i spot a special infected, a weapon, etc and set it permanently. That is through ping_system_settings.txt? Thank you in advance!

Chimichamo's talkers overrides the internal names of the survivors and the ping system mod is case-sensitive. As an example, it causes the pings to stop working because it's looking to see if "TeenGirl" made the callout but the game is giving it "Teengirl" instead. If you want to keep the ping system, try substituting Chimichamo's takers with MANACAT's active talker and Lochlan's Talker. Activated together they already do most of what Chimichamo's VScript talkers do.

Does anyone know of any explicit conflicts with this mod? I'm trying to narrow down what I have currently that is prevented these icons from showing up when pinged.

That's not an issue. Those addons are overriding the default icons so that pings show those custom icons.

@CaptPatrick01 , I imagine that is caused by an addon that fires "PlayerWarnSpecial" concept manually without setting "specialtype", which that concept is supposed to have. You could search for "PlayerWarnSpecial" and "PlayerAlsoWarnSpecial" case insensitively in your addons to see who is using and potentially causing it.

This error is fine to ignore though, as there wouldn't be any pings to show if there was no special infected to ping. It's not caused by the ping system.

۞Mordred۞ Can confirm. After extracting those talkers and merging them, I used the Ctrl+F functions in Notepad++ to change every instance of "Namvet" and "Teengirl" with "NamVet" and "TeenGirl" and their pings started working again, but now there's another error that says:

Sorry for the inconvenient but I figured it was my talker mod causing not to appear
