I want to say "That can't be it because i've been using this mod normally and when it was updated, I now suddenly can't watch the show" But i'm at a loss of words right now. I haven't added any new mods. it just.... stopped working in my game. if I restart, I'll let you know.

my server is up to date with about 50-60 mods, channel is still fine for me. probs is a mod conflict or something else weird, this game is good, but it is not always the most graceful in how it handles issues lol.

yeah, this'll be my last comment. I figured it out, this wasn't a problem with this mod at all.

Somebody else running a cremation mod that no longer exists, deleted the mod which broke the mod id. Mod manager and even the vanilla server host options would still allow me to load the mod, but for its mod id it would look it up, fail and try and use url='https..' which broke when the game read the file, causing the mod id list to die at "url."

So, if somebody deletes a mod between the time you first subscribed and loaded it into the game, this could happen to anybody and any mod lol. woof. I don't think it could really cause issues after a save is already started though.

I might have figured something out, I used a local server to build the server ini including all the mods so i didn't have to one by one copy/paste. it looks like it got all the workshop id's, but for some reason it looks like it almost truncated the modID list and it cuts off after like 10, the workshop id is loading, but the modID for DoctorShow isn't.

hmm, yeah that didn't work. In the server init log, i see it loading all these other mods but I can't find any reference to estate, doctor, the workshop id, or the mod id DoctorShow

if that pickup and placing doesn't work, then i am not really sure. i did a rebuild of my server once more to verify, even used another machine to host it that has never hosted a server before and all seem to work just fine. i did have an issue i noticed when i added it after the server had been up and saw the Hound Channel wasn't available, that was when i tried the pickup and placement.

works fine on my MP server. just did it

@rientelfon the mod wasn't added after I interacted with the tv, it's a dedicated server fresh save, fresh spawn, with the modID and workshop id being loaded by the server config ini.

Works fine in SP, doesn't seem to be working in MP :(

@cosmic There is really only one scenario I can think of causing the Hound Channel to not appear. If the mod was added after you have interacted with the tv, that is the problem. I just tested this and verified with my own situation, picking up and placing the tv back down will grant access to the Hound Channel.

there isn't a media/lua/client folder in the workshop files for this mod and it's not working in MP. If I try to delete the media/lua/client folder in the game server files, this causes a client/server mismatch and nobody can join. the hound channel doesn't ever appear.

When said show is on ,the proper skills could level up slowly. Just an idea , am not a modder and i appreciate the hard work of anyone making them.

yeah, I think the game has a few of those in the form of tapes. the main difficulty is making the script, coming up with the lines takes the longest as well as the story. I have automated the rest

cool idea, not sure how much work it took you. Would it be possible to do the same thing for different skills too? would be cool to have a different show like pimp my car (mechanical skill) Proff tesla fun times (electrical skills) or movies like Conan the barbarian (upgrade your fighting skill with long blades) Could add a lot of fun and new shows to watch while waiting in base.

Tapes have been added. They will spawn based on how the current tapes spawn in the game and are commonly found in the same locations that you would find retail VHS.
