It might be even better without all the puzzles just to strol around
I just completed it and found all the sigils and stars.
The puzzles were great and i had a lot of fun.
I respect all the work that you put into this game.
Thank you very much.
Now I´m waiting for Sanctuary 2 ;)
For the 3-digit code, I got it in advance from parsing the code in terminal of level 04. It was fun converting that logic into python .
I actually did end up finding the second Egyptian star after exploring a bit.
I'll have to check out Tango again.
I do think this is a very well designed campaign. I did get stumped a few times but I do feel the puzzles are quite good.
As an edit to my last comment. With the prisoner, you need to make sure to get the jammer before you see the prisoner. If you've already seen him, the door to the room he goes into will be locked with a metal door.
I was only able to find one star in the Egypt part. The one in wait and switch . I can't seem to find where the second is though.
For Tango, am I supposed to break a cube out of the puzzle beside it (I forget the name)? . I can't seem to work out the second part of it without doing so.
Connector Cubed: The connector placement to bounce the buzzer was too finicky for me. I had exactly the right idea but was unable to get a working position; in the end I resorted to climbing over the rooftops to get the sigil. I am glad this was possible.
Cloister Bomb: I failed to find this star on my own. In retrospect it is fair, but I feel it could still benefit from some degree of signposting. Maybe the platform with the unnecessary switch on it is intended that way?
Anyway, nice work! I thought it was a good level of difficulty on the puzzles, although I did have to think a bit on occasion and still failed to figure some out the intended way. (The Egyptian green sigils felt more like yellow puzzles to me.)
Thanks Bunnehz (and everyone else) for the constructive feedback. It is definitely useful, I'm sure people's comments on my last set of puzzles helped improve these ones.
There were only two things I would've liked to see different and they're both kind of spoilers. I'll have to split them into two separate comments:
Ending 3/3 with the long elevator ride to the title screen is kind of anticlimactic, especially since you have to do everything to get that.
As for the code/last room, it was intentional, and there is extra terminal dialogue in the starting area once if/when you return there: I put the same code in three terminals, but in different ways so people could find it in different ways - translating the Roman numerals, solving the Sphinx's riddle, or parsing the basic code in the medieval terminal.
Also, I thought I saw a comment somewhere wondering about a hint for Catacombs but can't find it now - just in case: think about a different way you can use a jammer to interrupt a laser beam.
I've only played a few levels and I really like it. Clever puzzles in the usual Talos-Atmosphere, very well done. If it's ok, I'd like to record my solutions. I will put them in a playlist and gradually complete them. When it comes to the solutions I make sure they are as intentional as possible because you can get some sigils and stars by walking the walls - especially in Brick World.
Here the link to the playlist: Sanctuary by pepsipowell
thx
@Attagoat: That cube is partly a red herring, you don't need it for the sigil, only for the star. You'll need to find a way to jam the gate next to that button.
@ProLogic Mind: This is just an online translation, hopefully it makes sense: Это онлайн-перевод, надеюсь, он сработает. Одна звезда находится в «Wait and Switch» рядом с сигилой, другая - возле компьютерного терминала в «The Illusion of Choice».
Я не могу найти одну (последнюю) звезду в древнем Египте
@matus.baca: Thank you!
For anyone wondering - there is also at least one solution to all of the puzzles that does not require walking along the tops of walls nor breaking items out of other puzzle areas. There is a short section of wall climbing to get to the computer terminal area in the Egyptian world, but this should display the jump prompts when you are in the correct places.
