It is technically possible to make such a mod, but the work required to do a bug free mod that preserves the mechanics of Aethiopian and Thracian factions is too high, specially considering the current playerbase of TW Troy.

Dear all, after 3 years I have managed to unlock confederation for Penthesilea. Check the new version of the mod here:

@RCL What is the issue? Troy's support ended in early 2022, this mod has worked fine since then. Remember that this mod allows Hippolyta's Amazons and Trojan factions to confederate each other, but not Penthesilea.

It's not possible to change the culture of a faction. CA created a separate culture for Penthesilea because there are many mechanics that are specific to her horde faction, but they didn't need to create a new culture for Hippolyta.

The subgroups you are talking about are called subcultures. Factions with a different subculture can confederate as long as they belong to the same culture.

And why can't we give her a Trojan culture? I thought the Amazons had their own cultural group. It's strange that they're not in one. Paris, Hector, Priam, Aeneas are in one subgroup in the diplomacy section, and Sarpedon is logically in another. Why are Amazons separated if they are sisters, that's strange and I don't like it.)))

@Donchak It has nothing to do with being a horde faction. Factions can only confederate other factions that belong to the same culture. For example, Hector can confederate Paris because he belongs to the Trojan culture, but not Achilles because he belongs to the Danaan culture. Hippolyta's Amazons belong to the Trojan culture, while Penthesilea has its own culture, therefore Penthesilea can't confederate any other faction.

Would it be possible for me to get the physical file for this mod. For some stupid reason whenever I launch the game via the launcher it lags hard. Yet whenever I launch from .exe in the game files it runs smoothly. I don't know why and I have tried this even with the graphic setting set to the min with no change. This means I have to install any mods manually...

Goddamnit, someone should talk with CA about implementing this in the next update if they plan on supporting this further then.

@Homocidalnutloaf No, it is not possible to create such a mod, factions can only confederate other factions that belong to the same culture. Hippolyta's Amazons belong to the Trojan culture, this mod allows them to confedate any Trojan faction, so there is nothing else that can be done.

Just checked out of curiosity... Still works not sure if it will break late game or something but you have the option there to confed

@Amulet of Kings resubscribing is the first thing I did when I saw it was out of date. I don't know what to tell you, it just doesn't work for me. I appreciate the engagement and help, but clearly it's not a mod I'm going to be able to use. Take care.

@John McCreedy I don't know what else to say, according to my mod manager the mod is up to date. Other users haven't reported any issues and the mod works fine for me. As a last resort, unsubscribe from the mod, reinstall the game and subscribe to the mod. If you need further help you can contact me on discord (Amulet of Kings#1284).

@Amulet of Kings Mate, there is no confederation button for Hippolyta's Amazons even if this is the only mod active. It simply missing from the diplomacy UI. It doesn't matter whether it's my saved game or a new game the result is always the same. I can go to any other faction the game allows me to confederate and the button is there on turn one. FYI the mod shows as out of date in the mod manager, even though I'm using the latest version of the mod.

@John McCreedy I checked the diplomacy options of Hector in the 3 game modes and I have the option to confederate Hippolyta's Amazons. Could you share your save file through Drive or Mega? And are you using any other mods? Can you confederate regular factions?

@Amulet of Kings Neither Amazon faction has the confederation button on the diplomatic screen, let alone the ability to do it. I'm playing Hector, Trojans.

@John_McCreedy I have just tried the mod and it works fine both in an old save and a new game. Remember that Penthesilea can't confederate or be confederated by any faction in the game.

@John McCreedy It should be save game compatible. What faction are you playing as and which faction do you want to confederate?

Memnon is the only faction in the Aethiopian culture, so he can't confederate with any faction (similar to what happens to Penthesilea). Rhesus already has the confederation option unlocked, but he can only confederate the factions of the Thraco-Phrygian culture.

No luck, Memnon has his own culture so Penthesilea and him can't confederate with any faction. Rhesus belongs to the new Thracophrygian culture, so he can only confederate with around 15 minor factions.

Once the Rhesus and Memnon DLC comes out I will make a separate mod to include confederation options for the new heroes. If we are lucky, it will be possible to confederate Memnon as Penthesilea and vice versa.

@Siodog Confederations are restricted by culture and there is nothing that can be done about it. Penthesilea is the only faction belonging to the horde culture, so she can't confederate any faction.

Amazing, wish you could do something with penthy so at least you can have both sisters in the campaign

@JOe KERad I haven't tried it with Radious mod, but there is a very high change that it is compatible. Load this mod after Radious (below in the mod launcher) for optimal compatibility.

@gkakfhd77 Glad you liked it! I should have uploaded this mod to the workshop earlier, I only had to change a single parameter to unlock the confederation option.
