...And once I checked back in with Wilikers in Base Camp, that's exactly what he said: keep checking in other places for the key. So never mind--I'm sure it will turn up somewhere. It's still frustrating to feel the need to check and double-check every inch of a map in search of a key that can't be found in it. Please consider having someone comment that maybe we should ask Wilikers about it, so other players don't needlessly waste their time at that point like I did. Ah well...onward!

Stuck in the Villa Cellars at the magically locked gate. No signs of buttons or pressure plates or hidden areas that might hold a key. I've scoured this map for an hour with no way to advance. Is the key somewhere on a different map, or found in a conversation with someone? Some sort of clue needs to be provided in game, if so. The only reference I've found in the comments is someone else asking about the same door, who completed the game without finding a way past it. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

That was a lot of fun. My first user made module. Thank you Silverquick! Echoing others, I kinda wish the Cyst had been a bit shorter. Having said that, I thought it was well designed with fun encounters, a solid story, and excellent pacing.

I still couldn't find the key to the main ruins. The merchant at basecamp didn't have it. Any suggestions?

Its pretty much the same, but perhaps a little harder from 4th due to the fact you don't get the money or the magic items from the intro part of the story which is what taking that 4th level path does, is skip the intro.

If you play a 1st level character you play through the intro module that kicks the whole thing off. Starting at 4th level you skip that.

While it is still open to start the game with 4th level characters and do the intro... that will overpower you for the intro portion since that is a 1st level module.

Nothing in the chests in the black dragon area are quest related. You just have to go past those to the area transition further in and it moves the adventure forward.

When loading the game is says starting levels 1-4. How does the game balance for a level 1 starting party vs. a level 4 starting party?

First, thank you. This is a very enjoyable campaign. That said, I am soft locked out of progressing. I am guessing what I am looking for is in the one chest that I couldn't open in the Black Dragon's treasure . Every character's roll failed to pick the lock. I do not have knock on any character. There is nothing left for me to level on to change spells, and none of the merchants sell the knock scroll. (this btw is an oversight if you are going to have locked chests that have quest progression items in them.)

Thank you Silverquick. I enjoyed this very much. To everyone one else, if you need your Solasta fix this is worth you time. It was the first user made campaign I tried but if they are all this good, I will be spending more time with this game.

Remember to click the middle pillar after the final fight. Magic items and rests were plenty but the encounters are balanced as such. The pacing felt great overall. Story was okay, felt like playing in my friend's homebrew DnD campaign. If you're playing a wizard be sure to carry more than one spell book. My wizard couldn't level up for the final fight because he ran out of pages.

I quit. Your crafting absolutely sucks!

I play Solasta, because it has a rich and deep crafting system. Ruins offers zilch for those who enjoys crafting. I'm at lv 7 and I've built two +1 Longswords, +1 Plate and a Souldrifter Dagger. I have 27,000 GP with nothing to spend it on. It sucks! I can't even go back to the original town to buy recipes and ingredients for anything decent.

I've been at the same Base Camp from level 3-7 and the only ingredients available is Diamond of Elas, Blood Ruby, Blood of Solasta and Oil of Acuteness. Not that it matters, because there's no recipes for anything good my party can use. My 7th level two-weapon fighting Bard is still using the original shortsword and shortbow she started with, because she can't make anything to replace it.

I've finished Solasta at lv 15, Lost Valley, Morrows Deep and Shadows over Brightreach, but yours is the first I'm quiting out of frustrations.

Excellent dungeon design.
The story is "okay".
But the technical issues made me abandon it in the second act. I couldn't proceed with a quest because the "Sage" character couldn't be talked to and generated an error in the console.

So I finished this module earlier today, my first time playing through a user module in a D&D videogame with support for such. It was good, I enjoyed it. I noticed some typos, some visual bugs rarely, and I do the very last part is a little too drawn out, because I do feel the highlight of the module is the fight when you enter the temple which was crazy but impressive; and I think it drags on a bit too long after that. But I had a very good time and the pacing and balance and storytelling were all pretty on point. I look forward to playing more Solasta user modules in the future.

How does it end? I've defeated the final boss and included adds. I've defeated one additional wave . I can't get out of the area and there are no doors that I see on the map at all. I'm stuck.

Finally finished this campaign in multiplayer with some friends. We had a lot of fun. Encounters are tough all the way to the end. This is a great module, highly recommended

Very engaging mod so far. The battle set ups seemed overwhelming at first, but then I saw that, with a little thought, the right strategy can unlock the win and a far more satisfying win at that. Still taking pleasure recalling one in particular. Just wish I had read the Lost Valley DLC requirement, too, as it looks like I'll have to start much of it over again. My only suggestion so far would be to speed up the dialogue windows. But excellent mod so far; very well done.

Just a comment to say that i'm happy with this campaign. Just hitted lvl 6 and I think the fights are made to make us stand on our toes and think quickly. When they're a lots of opponents, they are not stupid enough to come in & big group, and they know how to be hiddn behind things so I need to be exposed to be able to fight.
And I like the mood you set with your short texts in some rooms or passages, like a real dm could have said in a tabletop game. So thx for all, I'll continue soon (but I need to play BG3 too, lol)

I played your Champain in the lst few Days. Great Work well done.
I just have one Problem. I killed the Endboss and now i stuck in the court and the last door is still closed. i checked the the Area for 3 Times. Can't find anything.
Do i miss something or is something wrong?

Just finished, excellent. A few thoughts, mostly echoing what others said: No legendary for the final boss?? He's gotta have legendary actions/resistances, even if everything else gets scaled down.

Agreed that the last pre-boss sequence could be shortened a bit, got kinda tedious (and annoying not being able to rest)

And trivially, it was hard to see that I could click the final monolith! Had ta come to the comments here to catch a clue!

Must've missed the DLC requirement...

Played yesterday and fought some Bulettes which are from the Lost Valley DLC (that I don't have). Ended the game after that and when I started today I noticed the save files required the DLC.
Saving in another area seems to work without DLC but can't load the save files from this area...
Blocks me from continuing in the Outskirts ruins... :(

Only a bit disappointed in the final fight. Played it twice to see and both times the bbeg didn't even get to attack even once..

So some suggestions (spoiler)
the final boss got absolutely wrecked just by some hard cc spells or items. Banishment, hold monster, paralyze poisons all made him useless. Didn't survive a single round of being paralyzed as my hasted paladin just quadruple crit smited his face in. My cleric could do 100+ damage with a 6th lvl inflict wounds auto crit because for some reason he wasn't resistant against necrotic damage.
So give him legendary resistances and legendary actions like the CR15 demons (those were the real bosses to me).
Also needs some AOE or spell effects to be able to do something against the tank just spamming dodge with 30 AC.
.

But overall nice work! Will try it again with other party builds (maybe paladin is just too OP).

Im almost done with the campaign and i have to say it is fantastic right up until the final stretch, where it just kinda turns into a grindfest through the same 3 enemy types. which just kind of drags it out needlessly.

I get trying to make it hard to reach the end but it is just sort of boring to traverse the same rooms and fight the same enemies over and over and over again

I really love the rest of the campaign and it surprised me to have this issue at the end because before that it was all so well done

This one was updated at the time of the Lost Valley Expansion, and I had to do it also for the release of the class expansions. With people playing the new classes I had to add the magic items related to them or they would have been helpless. So monk and bard items had to be added. Warlocks use a lot of mage items so they were fine, but the other two needed appropriate items.
I also added a few monsters from the Lost Valley too that were not available when this was first created.

So far i'm really enjoying this mod, however, having a tad of an issue.

Did the DLC requirement change? I subscribed and started playing about 2 weeks ago and had no issues and i do believe the Lost Valley DLC was not a requirement... I was originally going to start with the Temple of Evil mod, but that one stated that it required the DLC.
Anyways, i reached the Temple in the city and now when i'm trying to load one of the saves to continue playing, it's blocked due to missing DLC.

Any suggestions? Am i screwed?

I am loving this campaign so much, but I cannot get into the Lizardfolk lair. I keep getting a cycle with the black screen and text, but I never end up going through to the new area after.

My brother and I are playing this module in MP and love it. We both feel this is more interesting and fun to play than the base Crown of the Magister. Excellent work.
I have one problem that I don't know how to fix though. I picked up 5 of the mutant albino Minotaur heads which are apparently Quest items in the Lost valley DLC. Now I have 5 heads that I can't drop or sell due to them being flagged as a quest item. Any ideas how to get rid of them from my inventory? Luckily I have a bag of holding so It's not critical but it would be nice to be able to free up 50 lbs of space.

A pretty nice campaign. Mostly dungeon crawling, but with some good lore too. And it's convenient to play, with merchants and wagon quick travel.

You have to click on the White Monolith after you finish the Final Boss Fight to advance the story to the ending Epilogue. That is what you're looking for.
The Tales from the Pythin crew is doing a playthrough of Ruinss of Ilthismar on their Youtube, but they have had some technical mishaps. Still its a good little walkthrough.

Hello, great campaign ! I think I found a bug at the end of the game. So I killed the big bad Z and then I'm just stuck in the empty room, no ending or anything. Does it just end like this or is there a problem ? Otherwise, it was very cool !

You need to add spellbook purchases to the Wilker's assistant, cannot level up without open pages in a spellbook.
