I would like to post this here for those that don't know, this is from the mod creator Oskar Potocki's Patreon, posted back in March regarding the future development of Rim-Effect.

" Rim-Effect was created when I was riding the Mass Effect Legendary Edition hype wave. As I finished the game, the hype died down and I lost interest in continuing the project. Considering it took as much time to make these mods as Vanilla Factions Expanded mods, and it only reached 5%-10% popularity of the VE mods, I couldn't justify spending so much time and effort on them. The mod will be reuploaded by Neronix and will receive 1.5 update on his end. "

I wish Oskar and his team would have continued working and updating the Rim-Effect series mods, I was looking forward to the Quarians and Turians being released however having Neronix update it is still appreciated. Hopefully one day the mod will be developed again and the stuff they are making now is great. :steamthumbsup:

Hey just letting people know, and im gonna put this message on the other mods as well, Neronix is working on the mods you just have to get the mod from the Github. Latest update just came out May 12th but does work on 1.5.

This needs to use genetics to create the race. I don't use it because compared to other races using the new biotech system it doesn't make sense.

If I replace a drell's lungs when he suffers from Kepral's Syndrome for another pair of lungs - archotech for instance - will he be cured?

Oskar just posted the updated road map for Vanilla Extended mods on reddit. It highlights that they will be updating this mod to 1.4.

The Drell backstory "Indentured Servant" has a typo. At one point "PAWN_nameDef" is replaced with "PAWN_defName" which will cause an error and make the backstory load incorrectly.

weird.. i can't seem find in prepare carefully the option to add drell... not sure if they are on a different name or not... at least i was able to add asari...

@vincenzo.monster - It's something like <steam library>\steamapps\workshop\294100\2651150217\ going off the workshop ID from the page URL. Of course you could also run RimPy and have that open the folder directly.

Yeah same played 2 collony and din't see any of them needed to double check if the mod was in my mods list two time but they seems to be in game just don't know if they are too rare or is some conflict with others mods. ( even if 85% of my mods are vanilla expeanded mods )

This mod is awesome but...I haven't really gotten to use it. My colony is few years old and I've yet to see a single drell. None in caravans, none in raids, nothing. It makes sense that they don't have their own faction, but would it be possible to let us to adjust the frequency of encountering them? I often forget that I even have the mod installed, since most of the content is based around the race itself.

Having an odd issue with TPS and FPS tanking when looking at the needs tab. Does not happen on a new game, but into the mid game onwards. Only happens on a Drell pawn. I do have plenty of mods active. Here is my logs link:

Just want to confirm if this is CE Compatible now. It seems like CE's supported third party mod has already listed this and also am a fan of the vanilla expanded and the whole rim-effect mods. Can't wait to have them on CE as well

But that does not fix everything. I lack an operation to replace natural lungs with other natural lungs. I can install surrogate or synthetic lungs (which does not cure the condition, a patch would be appreciated). But I can only harvest natural lungs and then install new ones, which also does not cure the condition. In testing with these mods, I could not cure the condition at all.

Bug report, with potential fix:
I was testing if artificial lungs cured Kepral's, but found I could not install lungs at all.
With EPOE and "Harvest Everything" mods, I cannot install lungs (both natural or surrogate/synthetic), and all body part harvesting is missing. The only surgery operation listed is, oddly enough, inducing an artificial coma from "War Crimes Expanded 2 Core". Other races still had all operations listed.

Tried loading Drell race mod after the mentioned mods, issue did not resolve.
However, this is fixed with an edit to Defs/ThingsDef_Races/Drell.xml, by adding "<humanRecipeImport>true</humanRecipeImport>" in the <generalSettings> section inside <alienRace>.

They will be cured if you swap out both lungs.

you say that Keprel's syndrome is incurable but we can slow the progression to replace their lungs, are they still afflicted after replacing both lungs or with they be cured?
also do you have plans for a Quarian race mod?

Correct. Look at our Asari mod. It's a big, DLC-sized mod. We plan the same for all the major races, whilst also dripping in the smaller ones like the Drell pack.

There is no turian and krogans pack planned, there is Turian and Gangs and a separate Krogan and Salarian pack planned. Both of these will take around 4 months each to develop. Drell took 2 weeks.
