You know, I get it. "Haha funny source error texture" and all of that, but its an error texture for a reason. Its made to stick out and not look good. This doesn't look good.

It's a good paint, but you'd have to greatly de-saturate it so as to not freak people out. Using the actual error texture magenta is sure to cause problems.

uh, no. pretty sure this is bait but theres a reason the texture is like this, its to grab your attention and let you know that something has gone horribly wrong and you need to check something. this is like the equivalent of making an unusual taunt effect thats literally just the afterburn textures.

Original was better IMO. The additional tertiary pink was not needed and hurts the war paint overall.

I really like the idea, but it currently hurts my eyes. Have you considered fading the pink a little bit to make it more resemble paint? Perhaps use the Pink As Hell shade?
