@kinngrimm: Your second suggestion is already a thing and has been for years (if I understand what you mean by it).
The mod is called Advanced Welding and it has a slim, collisionless, self-deleting merge block called a weld pad. It's pretty cheap to, at a cost of 1 steel plate, computer, and construction component. You can also detach a block without grinding it down if you hold ctrl while grinding.
Perfect for salvage scenarios (or the new Prototech blocks).

last not least, for really big pipes they could become jeffrys tubes, walkable maintance tunnels that still allow to fix blocks closeby, but are otherwise airtight and walkable.

another good concept might be a selfdeleting mergeblock that is so slim that it has no colission or has collisions deactivated. Point being you can permanently connect two grids over conveyors. A merge block conveyor ^^.

just saw an old conveoyr mod which wasn't any longer maintained that had an interesting concept that i think would fit in here well.
(De-/A-)tachable connectors (like with rotors/hinges). They were rather slim from the design , just a slightly different looking endpoint.

if possible can you make a new mod with just the small pipe and sorter or remove the conveyor adaptor and cargo from the mod. with the vanilla one this makes builds overpowered (to easy)

Fixed Block variant group issue were Tubes were not in a group.

Hello, I'm having issues and I thought I'd reach out to see if you had any ideas. I have this mod, Fencible's More Beams, MTGraves' Nite Owl Battery Pack, and NiteOwl Naval Theme Prop Pack on my server and several local worlds. Everything works fine on my local worlds, but whenever I have the Nite Owl mods loaded on my server, they cause the BVG's for your mod and the More Beams mod to break. MTGraves removed the custom radial menu for his mods, and that seemed to fix the issue on the local worlds, but not the server. I thought it might be possible that Pipes and Tubes might be causing the issue, but I have no idea. If you could look into it, that would be awesome.

Is it possible to keep the blocks in the mod and only remove them from te G-menu (so our existing ships and stations don't get damaged)?

One thing tho.. Is it possible to fix the collision on the small pipes? they seem to have a "full" block collision at the moment. (have not checked to large blocks)

you have "H2 Pipes, O2 Pipes" under Todo. Does it mean that your conveyours do not transport h2 and o2 currently or does it mean that you want to create something new for these both? Thank you.

@Shado can confirm it 99% a broken LOD went from model quality from low to medium nothing changed but when i went to high quality it changed

you might be on something there i have shadows and other qualities other display settings to low or off so i can have 120 fps and only 30% CPU and GPU usage

okay then what the issue on my end because I want to mod completely deleted it from the hard drive and reinstalled it and still get the had the same results is steam not installed properly or something

1x1x5 still not working. The little lights at either end that are supposed to be yellow or green are showing blank as if it has no power but the pipes either side are working. 1x1x5 is the only pipe that doesn't work. Playing on Xbox.
