The traits should probably cost a bit more than they would proportionally so the occupations should still be superior for playthroughs with these traits

I might, annoy me about it a few time so I don't forget, but this mod literately just changes a single line of code from false to true for the traits, if you poke around the code, I'm sure you'll figure it out, it's a lua file so you don't need any tools. I'm actually modding a different game rn lol

hey man this is a nice mod but can you do Spy's Facility-7 Demo without having the mod but the traits and Insurgent - Black Ops Profession traits cuz i just what the unique traits without playing occupation just to get it if you can do that i can wait

I looked into it but couldn't find any code on how the traits actually work.

The problem is that the other profession traits are listed twice (a free one for the profession with "2" at the end of the name and the original one that costs trait points) and made mutually exclusive with itself. I tried changing the traits to have 2 at the end of the name but they aren't recognized. Either the code and icons to support it don't exist or they've been commented out somewhere.

The only real alternative I see for fixing it is to remake the traits from scratch. I'm still looking into how the traits actually work to even attempt it.

Update: It is working but in funny way. I can add profession to my character, REMOVE that specific trait and it will join the negative traits. Then I can swap between all the professions like this, pile the traits up and then add them on my character :D

Thanks for the walkthrough. I had to search through them individually and found them not in client but in shared but even if I changed the values to "false, false" they do not appear in game on their own. At least thanks for showing me how to.

if you edit the mod file, make a copy or you won't be able to play online with that mod, also the changes will most likely disappear after an update to that mod, look up how to make your own mod so it's more permanent and you can share it

here's a secrete, go to project zomboid files, back out to steamapps, then to workshop, 10800, find the mod id (like 2655709885, at the bottom of the mod item on the workshop, if not there right click on the page and copy the url, then past elsewhere and skim the id)

now go into the mod, go to media, lua, client, the file should be named something like "Traits", to know you have the right file the first line will be "require('NPCs/MainCreationMethods');"

change the end of every line that starts with "local TRAITNAME = TraitFactory.addTrait" from true, true to false, false

if you're still confused then look at my mod folder

btw, the number in the middle of the line is how much it will cost e.g. 0 = free, 9 = 9 trait points

I was just asking for the mod "Profession Expertise" as it add many cool traits but it is impossible to have for example two professions and some of those traits that mod adds are tied to professions themselves.

Well it works for me who wanted Desensitized without taking Veteran all the time. It's simple and does what I need, so I'm perfectly fine with it.

No, they're not traits, just "hidden" aspects of the Lumberjack and Park Ranger jobs. I was hoping there was some kind of hidden trait which could be made usable to allow other jobs to get those 'perks' as well.
