Hey! Love this mod, and model. Permission to use the model of this mod for a custom block?
Lead Hail 5 Aug, 2023 @ 1:49pm
10X power option? I looked at the code and already made a 10X version in the code but didn't upload, 1 i don't know how and 2 didn't want to disrespect.

@SomeActualCheese, so basically the Repulsor mod, been using that one for a long time now, still works wonders
SomeActualCheese 20 Mar, 2023 @ 11:02pm
this kinda reminds me of a modded block i wanted to make. The Inertia Drive! it basically acted as a way to slow your ship without the need of thrusters, it of course would basically have the same strength as a grid appropriate small ion thrusters in all directions except for applying thrust as it only slows you down. They would also be as useful as ion thrusters while in gravity.
Mr Tipple 17 Dec, 2022 @ 11:00am
a small suggestion, could we have the equivalent of a 'large' atmospheric thruster? Comparing small grid, the thrust of a regular gravity engine is the same as a normal atmospheric thruster, but the 'large' atmospheric thruster has 6x the thrust at just over 4x the weight, large grid is 10x thrust at just over 8x weight. Am I correct in thinking the 4x gravity engine is 4x thrust and 4x weight? This would result in more weight when replacing large thrusters. Other than that, I love this mod!

That's useful to know. I'd rather the arrow point in the direction the thrust is going, not the direction it will push you.
Hotaro 10 Apr, 2022 @ 11:15am
You are correct. I had them in the wrong direction. The arrows are pointed in the direction the thrust will push you. So arrow pointing up means, the thrust is pushing down, therefore you will be pushed up. I thought the arrows were facing the direction the thrust was pushing. I'm sorry.
Silentor  [author] 14 Mar, 2022 @ 12:16am
@Hotaro
Then it must be the wrong direction
Hotaro 13 Mar, 2022 @ 3:54pm
No it is not. Here is a thought. Do the arrows on the side of the thruster indicate that is the direction the thrust is pushing out of the device? Or is it the direction you want the ship to travel? It is not clear the direction I should point them. Maybe I pointed them the wrong direction. It's a theory.
Silentor  [author] 13 Mar, 2022 @ 7:14am
@Hotaro
Is your ship connected to the ground?
Hotaro 13 Mar, 2022 @ 4:35am
I can't get this to work. I put about a hundred of these on my ship and it won't even leave the ground.
NorfolkDave 16 Feb, 2022 @ 6:44am
awesome mod
XEN 14 Feb, 2022 @ 9:42pm
Wicked little mod dude, love it.

@Littlecaptain
暂时懒得做MOD...
Littlecaptain 12 Feb, 2022 @ 2:27am
你可以出一个推力大一些的版本吗大佬?
ariesfighter15 10 Jan, 2022 @ 7:37am
Wasn't there a version that had a x2 and x4 thrust output?
Sparktite 7 Dec, 2021 @ 11:11am
Btw i love the model of the gravity engine, u did an amazing job with it!
Sparktite 7 Dec, 2021 @ 11:11am
Is it the thrust that is very low then? I was trying to make a ship exclusively using these thrusters but i basically needed to add a million thrusters to get the ship to move at all. So i wound up opting for using the X10 modded thrusters which overwall cut down on weight and gave me way more power. Maybe im remembering it wrong. Ill see if i can make some time to test the engines again so i can give u some actual feedback rather than just trying to run off of what i think i remember.
Silentor  [author] 7 Dec, 2021 @ 6:57am
@Sparktite
Its weight is not much different from that of a small ion thruster.
Sparktite 6 Dec, 2021 @ 8:32am
Hi i tried using these for my ship, but realized that they weigh way too much and dont provide very much thrust. I think maybe if there were tiered versions of these, or they were stronger, or they weighed less and this mod would be amazing. Anyways just trying to provide feedback <3

Summary :

Sweet Mod, Requires Adjustment if it's to be called a Gravity Engine. No Salt.

My Statement :

Mod has inverse logic. A Gravity Engine is negated by the effects of natural gravity as it uses inferior artificial gravity as a form of relative displacement to form an impulse that effectively drives an object through a field using consequential force to propel itself/action motion. It should have more exo-planetary force than endo-planteray force.
Tl;dr :

It's whatever you wanna do with it with disclaimers.

怎么用啊造船上面供电就可以了吗?
Rezun 20 Nov, 2021 @ 2:11am
Hey, I wanted to build a ship based on Battlezone fleet, that can work both in atmosphere and oudside, but only on planets/moon (within gravity). I couldn't find suitable engines until now.

I love this mod. It solved my problem. Thanks!
MasterMcD 19 Nov, 2021 @ 6:12pm
I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR SO LONG! THANKYOU!!! :steamhappy:
VS-lockon 19 Nov, 2021 @ 3:50pm
when i saw this i was thing this was a power Engine sadlt it not
Stardust 19 Nov, 2021 @ 3:43pm
Seems very useful for building stuff like Space Battleship Yamato ships! Epic job! :p2cube:
Silentor  [author] 19 Nov, 2021 @ 6:07am
@BlakeKevin
Yes, but it uses electricity instead of hydrogen.
@mfgp2
Thank you, mainly because I thought the original model was too crude...
@共产星际总工程师
超大推重比...我之前倒是想加个大的...有时间我弄弄看...
$yndicate (Repository) 19 Nov, 2021 @ 2:27am
so if im understanding this right it is a "hydrogen thruster without a flame, and still preforms pretty well?
International Brigades 1936 19 Nov, 2021 @ 12:46am
能不能弄一个超大推重比款的
mfgp2 18 Nov, 2021 @ 1:01pm
But even so it's the best work I've seen in space engineers. For the idea itself. Glad you exist.
mfgp2 18 Nov, 2021 @ 1:00pm
And, in my opinion, the previous texture similar to the artificial mass block was much better. It had light emanating, more advanced appearance, and it would be well suited for the block of mass to be used to generate gravitational force.
I had already integrated the look of the old block into the architecture of several ships and of course I will change them as the performance gain solved the navigation issues but prevented its use as an aesthetic resource in my case.
mfgp2 18 Nov, 2021 @ 1:00pm
Although you could still make one that works in all directions. it would save a lot of space, strength, everything.
It would make it possible to make ships whose performance would be like that of a UFO. I understand that, for the sake of the game given how it already is (with "conventional" engines), you want to put in fair propulsion/consumption values, but you could make a MOD that would increase the block's power (and the multidirection maybe) to be added.
mfgp2 18 Nov, 2021 @ 12:59pm
thousand thanks. you solved everything by reducing the weight.
DarkArkAngel 17 Nov, 2021 @ 11:56am
Hey man, don't know why people slept on it but this is a great mod. The model looks awesome and you did a good job.
