Solasta 2 is coming soon!
As per usual with your modules, Sir Vel, I had a blast and I see myself returning to this one to test my party compositions, both vanilla and modded.
This run was vanilla. As for the party, I felt a bit nostalgic today so I went with Paladin Casavir, Ranger Bishop, Druid Elanee and Sorcerer Quara. Most veterans will certainly recognise those names :)
Compared to Ode to Yendor it was easier but still kept me on my toes in a couple fights (of course I deliberately delayed to face all challenges at every stage).
Thank you for another fun experience!
I've had to make the call to abandon loot a few times, challenging at the later floors so far, even for my party of life domain cleric, rogue/ranger (mostly ranger), way of iron monk, and sorc with a splash of pal squad.
I won't be surprised if I don't end it on this run though, I've died to a couple of surprises - mostly mobs running away into deadly adds (looking at you, certain creepy crawlers that pop up at lv 7)
Overall, I think it is great.
The story, while simple, is executed very well.
I very much liked the way the maps are made in that you have to consider whether your party can take another fight for the chance of extra gear.
The combat encounters feel well balanced for the most part.
One thing that I didn't like was the stress that out of combat time matters a lot; I can imagine other players liking that aspect, but it was not for me.
1 change I would like to see would be more creature variety in the endgame; It wasn't bad as is, but I think it could be better.
