Is this mod still functional? i'm cleaning up my mod list to get rid of as many old and outdated mods as possible.
Thanks!

@fre3men after removing all Stellaris files including Paradox launcher from my computer and doing a new install the mod is now working. So either the launcher or game was stopping it from working. So thankyou for another great mod.

@ fre3men I don't understand why It's not working either after all your other mods work no problems. when I get time I will completely remove Stellaris and Paradox launcher from my computer and reinstall them and try again. I can only think that maybe recent game patches and launcher updates have maybe caused a glitch which is stopping it from running. Hopefully this solves the problem.

@zaramo Hello, the truth is that I do not understand why it does not work for you. The mod works immediately, except that there will be no cells for inmates if you don't build the prison from the beginning or have at least 10 pops in the planet, since every 10 pops an inmate "workspace" will be created. But you should see the option to execute even if you don't have more than two recluses. When you click in the penal colony decision, the planet modifier show you that 10 pops give you a cell?

@fre3men I started a new game with no mods except for this one. I ran the game for about 50 years and even colonised other planets and nothing. It does not seem to be working for me. I even tried unsubscribing to make sure. Any other suggestions.Or maybe I'm just not using the mod correctly. do I have to set a planet as Penal colony and if so how do I do that.

@zaramo Hello! It's very rare, you don't need to activate anything. It has been working for me in the last game with version 3.6.1, won't it be a problem with other mods? Can you do a test test with this mod alone in your game?
zaramo 25 Dec, 2022 @ 11:48pm
Big fan of your hyperlane mod and thought I might try this one but doesn't seem to work on my save game. Do you have to use a console command line like you use for your hyperlane mod or not.

nice!!
fre3men  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 1:01am
@Orionox I'm testing the new version. Regards
fre3men  [author] 17 Dec, 2022 @ 1:01am
@Cloud Rese Hello, at the moment I will only be able to check the compatibility with new Stellaris versions. In the future I will work again on new implementations. Regards.

Hi, I don't know, I've looked at the mod you tell me about and it doesn't seem to be compatible. My mod is prior to the one you mention, the one you say seems to have another interesting approach as well. Test both and play with the mod that you like more. Regards.

Is this compatible with "Penal Colony: Enhanced" ?

Is this compatible with "Penal Colony: Enhanced" ?
TY 27 Nov, 2021 @ 4:54am
This looks great! Besides the mod itself, I love how it's save compatible. A thumbs up has been given.
ghosterino 25 Nov, 2021 @ 8:22am
I like the idea of penal colonies allowing you to "sacrifice" pops, like in Death Cult. One thing I've never understood is why set aside the convicts, aren't they all prisoners on that planet?
fre3men  [author] 25 Nov, 2021 @ 2:51am
Hi, thank you for your comment and notes. The icon is more like FireFly SCI-FI or Riddick (Pitch Black) style ;). But if I see one that better expresses what the decision does, I will change it. Regards!
LegendaryLycanthrope 24 Nov, 2021 @ 5:14pm
This is stuff that should definitely be part of the base game - but until that happens, at least this mod exists.

I would suggest seeing if you can find a more appropriate icon for the Execution decision, though - a wooden hanging post doesn't really fit a sci-fi setting. Maybe a stylized lethal injection table or something of the sort?

Hi, the AI doesn't use penal colonies, in the script of planetary decision, the weight for it is 0. Although the technology that allows the decision AI can investigate it. There are many illogical things in the development of this game (which is very similar to browser games). I made my own mod for Espionage when Nemesis released (althought there are limitations too, as not are targets for planets, and we must made other ways to develop), may be, your idea inspire me for made something relationated ;). Thanks for your inputs.
Gatsby 23 Nov, 2021 @ 5:46pm
it would be cool if in the espionage system you could fuel an uprising on another AI prison planet. Not that I know if AI even use prison planets.
fre3men  [author] 23 Nov, 2021 @ 2:30am
@Whysoserious, Oh! Yes, thanks for the tip. In the next update it will be fixed. For the descriptions of the mods and my comments I use my "poor" knowledge of English, for the mods I have help from someone who has much more knowledge, but this happened. In Spanish, prison is prisión or cárcel ;). Regards.
Sel Und Irae 22 Nov, 2021 @ 9:23pm
I haven't used Penal Colonies in a long time due to how useless they are when you could just use Androids to get better output than feeding organics that aren't of the primary species.
However, This mod seems to give them a decent use and maybe one day prison breaks? Perhaps an enemy empire will attack the prison and try to free your prisoners.
Perhaps it'd be a crime according to the Galactic Council to house prisoners from council lead species?

Looking forward to seeing what this mod turns into in the future :)
Durandal 22 Nov, 2021 @ 6:37pm
people use penal colonies lol?
Whysoserious 22 Nov, 2021 @ 1:39pm
It's the right word, but a typo. You named the added building a prision instead of prison.
fre3men  [author] 22 Nov, 2021 @ 10:39am
@Whysoserious, prision in english? I check, and only see in all translators as prison or penitentiary
fre3men  [author] 22 Nov, 2021 @ 10:36am
Updated! 3.2
Whysoserious 22 Nov, 2021 @ 8:17am
Prision btw.

Hi Wilmfe23, the prisoners give unity because it is the closest to reality if we understand that it is also a value of security and tranquility for the nation. What you say about policies, in the description I already indicated that in the future there may be demands of faction and politics (which is related), as well as more events ;). The pity, the faction demands are within the faction script, you cannot add new ones without modifying the vanilla file, therefore, these have to take into account other mods, in my case that of Pleasure House and Casinos too (new name changed from Megabrothel mod which I will update today also for 3.2 with many more features as Offshore Habitat). Regards and thanks for your input.
fre3men  [author] 22 Nov, 2021 @ 4:07am
Hi eNoble, I will surely upload the mod today when Paradox releases version 3.2 of Stellaris ;).
Wilmfe23 22 Nov, 2021 @ 3:21am
Capital punishment works better I think as a policy. Something that maybe equalitariasm won't like and will reduce pop growth slightly. But will eliminate one convict every few months.
Wilmfe23 22 Nov, 2021 @ 3:20am
A really good idea.
Though criminals are such an underpowered mechanic that it's kind of pointless.
eNoble-US 21 Nov, 2021 @ 10:06pm
I see a Coliseum mod in the images, but its not available?
Crazy Old Texan 21 Nov, 2021 @ 4:07am
Oh now, this has potential, thank you.
