Thanks for your work, but i'd like to make a suggestion

Make all the towed Arty a width of 1 and SP Arty a width of 2, both types can are still capable of direct fire, so they should have some width, and the SP (irl) can, in certain situations be used as a TD and is more versatile all around (Breakthrough,defense..etc)

Just some thoughts

Then just remove the artillery from the templates entirely, let only the support artillery be possible to use. Give the later a buff if necessary. I do understand you reasoning, but I find the result quite weird.

Does this also provide 0 combat width to rocket artillery and motorized rocket aritllery? if not, could you update it to where it does?

@Bluetwo26 that doesn't make sense when 8/8 was the pinnacle for marine divisions in that period.

@Joker Shadow you probably have a conflicting mod. Check your mods for editing the same files as mine. If you find a conflict follow the guide I posted above.

Yeah, one of the reasons arty (and AA/AT) today has 0 org and 3 width was because in old HoI4 (2016) they could be used more as front line units. Their org was reduced to make arty only spam for soft attack impossible and 3 width was to make them awkward to add to templates when the meta was 20 widths. Basically moving the meta from 5/5 Inf/arty to the 7/2 we see today. Not to mention Superior Fire Power was even more powerful before its soft attack nerf and the default option was to do frontline arty bonus, instead of the support company bonus. Another funny thing about back then was that special forces had no cap, so it was really more like 5/5 Mountaineers/arty. Because the only difference between special forces and main infantry was a little bit of support equipment for massive terrain bonuses.

Honestly, why not make arty work like railwayguns for deployment and like CAS in battle. i mean i´m no modder and have no idea if this would even be possible but i kinda dig the idea.

I'd recommend 1 combat width (observers and the likes) as well as an increased supply usage since you'll have to ship in all of those heavy artillery shells.

@Bridger I mainly buffed for thematic/historical reasoning. As always I'm open to suggestions. Perhaps an increase in supply usage or manpower would help with balance.

extra width was the only drawback of artillery before, have you performed any balancing or have you just buffed artillery for thematic reasons with no other thought to how that would affect the game?

Theoretically yes, but with only artillery they would have 0 organization and instantly be defeated in battle.

So with this mod 0 Combat width divisions are possible? If so does this also mean that you could technically have infinite Art only divisions in a battle or would it need something like 1 Infantry battalion? cool mod honestly
