i found the ducted fans!!! simply deleting them fixes the speed boost when you try to tilt forward. Don't get me wrong, I love this heli and it is extremely well built!! This was just a minor thing that I wanted to try and change and it worked! This will now be my main Heli. Incredible build, thank you so much for all the effort!

incredible max lift weight lmao, picked up a whole ass crane like it was nothing

Why does this accelerate so fucking fast?

for a secaond i saw ohio:steamhappy:

@OMNI Is there really a way to make it stop moving forward? Because it kinda makes all the helis useless for far travelling.
cashdamoney 19 Mar, 2024 @ 6:01pm
@The Nameless: why are you so rude to him? he probably spent hours working on this very well designed helicopter, and you just came here and trashed up his comment section. If his heli did not reach your prefrences, maybe you should make your own.
The Nameless 29 Feb, 2024 @ 12:54pm
Again, that's the dumbest thing I ever heard. It is absolutely NOT operator error when a design feature, especially one that they were never notified of and can't disable, interferes with the operation of a vehicle. Someday I will laugh when you do get in a wreck caused by a poor decision on the part of a vehicle's designer and your insurance adjuster deems it driver error. You'll look back on this conversation then and understand just how hard you shot yourself in the backside.
OMNI  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 10:15am
Your comparison seems to be proving it was pilot error. Nothing got stuck... sounds like you trimmed it forward and then didn't realize you used trim or didn't know that you trimmed it and/or how to undo a base game feature.

The instructions above say you can set your forward speed using trim and to return it to neutral for position hold ability.

Go find something you can comprehend.
The Nameless 29 Feb, 2024 @ 6:26am
That's the dumbest thing I ever heard, and I damn well won't be using anything you make. I sincerely hope you don't design vehicles in real life. And the next time you wreck your car because a design flaw causes the gas pedal to go to the floor on its own and stay there, you'd better hope your insurance adjuster has NOTHING in common with you.
OMNI  [author] 29 Feb, 2024 @ 5:29am
@The Nameless: Yes, pilot error. If you don't like it, then don't use it.
The Nameless 28 Feb, 2024 @ 4:36pm
So when the helicopter has something I don't see and don't know about, something that suddenly, without warning or indication of any kind, kicks in and causes the craft to move in an undesired manner thus causing a crash, that's pilot error? I guess if you put a warhead in it set to go off after thirty minutes, that's pilot error too.
OMNI  [author] 28 Feb, 2024 @ 2:23pm
@Silver @The Nameless

My helis with the ducted fans were built before props were able to be hidden and are not as refined in that area as my newer models. However they are perfectly controllable, even precisely.
Any trouble in that area is pilot error.

@caiden.boat: You probably don't have physics set to high.

@MGP5_5: Are you using a cable and not a rope for the harness? It works fine for me.
Swedish Flounder 18 Feb, 2024 @ 6:14am
@The Nameless, is that what's causing it to keep going forward?
The Nameless 17 Feb, 2024 @ 8:46pm
Really needs a button to disable the ducted fan. Honestly I am really getting sick of those things. I see a helicopter that looks awesome, I take off, I hit W to pitch forward and pick up some speed... BAM. Ducted fan kicks in and it becomes a nightmare to control.

Honestly guys, I know you don't actually want a helicopter. You want an airplane that just happens to LOOK like a helicopter. There's nothing wrong with that, but when it comes time to do a precision landing, I need to be able to turn the damn fan off and have it actually BE a helicopter!
Swedish Flounder 17 Feb, 2024 @ 1:22pm
How do I stop it from angling forward after holding W for a long time?
caiden.boat 25 Aug, 2023 @ 12:22pm
Love it, although the nose landing gear seams to collapse each time it is spawned
MGP5_5 10 Aug, 2023 @ 2:50pm
The sling doesn't have it's own controls even though it says "Winch in" and "Winch Out". Same with "Boom in" and "Boom Out". Otherwise great helicopter!
OMNI  [author] 1 Dec, 2022 @ 5:11am
@mcdingus101: On both the control panel in the cargo bay or the one in the cockpit "Overhead Winch Signal" is the control for the attachment.
mcdingus101 27 Nov, 2022 @ 3:39am
i attached a magnetic connector onto the overhead winch , how do i activate the connector?
OMNI  [author] 16 Aug, 2022 @ 11:45am
@TheFreedomCommander: Glad to hear it!

Seems there's a recent bug where the winches don't auto stop when fully retracted so if you hear the storage winches running thats what is causing it. Reported it on the issue tracker.

@𐍄𐍅𐌰𐌻𐌹𐍆
Thank you! I found that out a few minutes after that, me and my friend had been flying it for several hours beforehand and had been very frustrated. Definitely one of our favourites!
OMNI  [author] 14 Aug, 2022 @ 12:38pm
@TheFreedomCommander: I checked it out and the controls you are using are for the rescue winch on the side.

The sling controls are in the cockpit on the center console between the seats.

@ Jedi: Thanks! I love seeing comments like this.

I try to make aesthetically pleasing vehicles that can actually be used and are easy to operate.

I forgot to say the shape is so cool and pleasing- super proportions. Thumbs up
Jedi Polar Bear ice Swimmer 4 Jun, 2022 @ 10:25am
I love this helicopter. Thank you. Ive tried lots of others but this is my favourite. The control are perfect and it isn't over complicated in the cockpit. It will just sit there hovering beautifully so you can pop out of the pilot seat and get a cappuccino (or rescue someone) while it hovers nicely 3 feet above the ground. It will do this all day long. I open the rear doors and bring her down to sea level to rescue folks. I lifted the post van with this baby. Thank you. I LOVE IT!
THE SEA STALLION IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE AND THIS NAILS IT:-)

@ShadowSeeker789:

Thanks!

It's the Omni Dingo.
Whistling_Owl 12 Mar, 2022 @ 6:18pm
I generally love this helciopter. I do. I do. but what about that buggy in the picture
OMNI  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:31am
@Slammin'Cheeks: It does have altitude hold and multiple forms of it, exactly like all of the other Omni Helis..

It will hold current alt on its own anytime you change altitude. It also has an altitude hold function in the autopilot for manually setting a desired altitude.

On the AP panel the ALT function can be turned on with or without either HD or WP hold. Then the +/- touch controls will change desired altitude in feet.
Slammin'Cheeks 13 Feb, 2022 @ 2:53am
Would it be possible to get an updated version of this? Huge fan of this heli, biggest con is it doesnt have altitude hold :C
OMNI  [author] 4 Feb, 2022 @ 12:16pm
@NavySEAL454: It won't float on it's own, but it will autohover there just fine like in the pic.
EagleRaider444 4 Feb, 2022 @ 9:57am
can it land on the water, like in the pictures?
birb 26 Nov, 2021 @ 8:03pm
nice!
OMNI  [author] 23 Nov, 2021 @ 11:46am
@The Hunter: Thanks!

I don't like a bunch of faked systems with 100 switches that all look identical... I try to keep it "realistic for stormworks" I want it to look good and work well in SW.

Also when I have to start it up hundreds of times in testing... I like automation and quick startups... lol

I probably won't do gunners on these as the gunner positions take up so much room... I only did it on the OH40 since it's a blackhawk clone and they basically have a gunner position built in that doesn't interfere with anything else.

You can delete the drop tanks and put missiles or torpedoes onto the hardpoints. Basically anything fire and forget will work.
The Hunter 23 Nov, 2021 @ 10:55am
Nice work, I like how easy these helicopters are to operate, while still maintaining good details. will you plan to add a gunner part to this
thatcoolcat1 23 Nov, 2021 @ 8:14am
any pics of the cockpit?
