"basic arma 3 functions" get a load of this guy lmao.

none of the official arma 3 story missions ever have you to use the j key to pick up items, that's not what it's used for. it's used for quickly viewing and marking as well as unmarking tasks without having to go into your map. the field manual and the arma 3 community wiki never mentions anything about using the task and diary key to pick up items.

useful key, but not for the reason this guy is telling you.

To all people complaining below - learn how to play the game first, lol.

Hold J (or whatever button you have to highlight tasks) and move the pointer over the phone, game will prioritize this object and show you the "pick up intel" action.Voila, now you can progress.

This has been there for ages and idk why you can't just learn basic Arma 3 functions but shit on mission makers instead.

No matter what I do I cant interact with the phone in the tent and get the intel. Restarted twice and threw no grenades at anything, just cant get the intel from the Iranians.

I see the phone on the ground, but I can't pick it up, no matter how I try. My game is over? Dislike, sorry.

On the very first mission (The robber) my companions constantly reviving a bandit and killing him after. Again and again. Was it intended like this?

On the first contact mission, how can you retrieve the Intel from house

No laptons needed, take only phone, if can`t find phone, probably you threw a grenade and the phone flew into the texture. Rollback to a previous save and clear houses without grenades.

what's the point of the armory if i can't even use it? also picking up the phone is a chore.

in First Contact, I can't pick up the laptop on the table... the action is there in the menu but nothing happens. Even if I open the inventory, I see the laptop on the "ground" but I can't transfer it to my inventory. Isn't there an easier way to do this seeing as so many people have trouble with this?

Solution: Until he fixes it or if he ever does
Go prone, get really close like if you were disarming a mine and then jus keep going back and forwards (I had my pistol equipped too)

Need to fix the phone, didn't even realize that was the thing I needed until I came to the comments

Unable to access the phone in the robber portion of the mission. Tried all the tricks listed here and nothing works. Recommend you put the phone in the inventory of one of the robber dudes for easier access.

I managed to pick up the phone in the robber by standing about a metre back from the table (just as you come into the tent) whilst ADS and looking at the phone on the ground. I very very slowly aimed up and down over the phone and it triggered the interaction icon to pick it up.

How do i dissable the medical system? it is very annoying when playing with ace

I can't pick up the intel in the Robber. I think the money is blocking me and I can't pick that up either

Can't pick up items in the armory

@DARKSNAKE, same problem here, I can't pick up the cell phone nor the money notes on the first contact mission. Also the enemies guarding the tent did not fire on me until i got to 20 meters from them.
