For this to be added on Total War WH3, the OvN team needs to make the Arab faction mod again.

Might come to WH3, but araby is getting a full rework so i don't know what will be ported, might even make a completely new mod

araby cav with laces please, just one unit of them would make Araby great. Can't be that hard, I'd do it myself but im not that good at modding.

It's just that historicaly arabs and turks and persians and all other middle eastern factions had a wide variety of cavalry, lancers and cataphracts for example

Araby is based on all that stuff, so a dedicated shock cav unit makes sense, just one unit of them, two at best. Arabyan knight models for the lancers and the Siphahis models for catapharcts

.it would be a great thing for me to see personally, as I want those middle eastern/persian/turkic thematic troops for my araby armies.
please at least try it.

@auriman @brother nicholas, i am considering making janissaries, but they would require some custom models to do justice, so i would have to ask someone to make those for me. If i do add them i want them to be strong but only available at a certain city/landmark or maybe through a different way.

@nextjohns, all the models themselves are made by the OVN team and it's many contributors. I just took those models and to make new VMD's and reskin/recolour them when needed

i would love to see Janissaries, an elite musket unit that would be a decent melee combatant and have good range. also for the dijin cultists maybe add frenzy to boost there damage to make up for lack of armor. Otherwise great mod, keep up the great work.

Btw now that I think about it you should make units that OvN team did not make for Araby like Janissaries, Mamelukes and Camel Caravans for example.

Really nice mod! Colors are really nice and the units are very thematic! Although I think the robes of the bedouins should be close on the front not open.

@housie123 kislev is getting a real army and units now...just save your ideas for your own mods. also, have you thought of doing some Southern Realms submods for New World Colonies? they dont really have anything good

Sorry I keep commenting, but I have one more idea. This is slightly more boring, but I got it from the Araby Armies Project. Maybe an elite infantry called “The Sultan’s Jannisary Guard”, “ Haras of the Sultan” or the “The Sultan’s Royal Guard”. They would essentially be a more heavily armored Arabyan guard with higher melee defense, anti large, and higher leadership. They would have unique abilities. Maybe they would be similar to Black Orcs with the immortal banner (obviously worse stats besides maybe armor and anti large) but like the Black Orcs with the Immortal Banner they wouldn’t lose models until they fell under a certain leadership. This would make them feel like they are hard to break, but not truly unbreakable like the Djinn cultists. They could also have an ability to provide 15% physical resistance to any characters around them to make them feel like a bodyguard. Let me know what you think.

just one araby unit with lances would be cool, I know they already have camel lancers but those are a nomad unit, I would like to see them have one armored and sheilded dedicated shock cav unit, just for fun and lore reasons too

Hmm, maybe a bunch of spirits? Sort of like syreens, but less damage and more of an ethereal “hold the line” unit rather than a damage dealer and it could use a little magic to debuff the enemy units? Maybe it could be summoned by the djinn cultist? Also, for the cannonades, maybe it would be an anti infantry- grapeshot style artillery? I’ve seen mods- specifically a grapeshot cannon mod by Masked Mustachio. Maybe make the cannonades (or another name for them) only have the grapeshot? Just a couple ideas.

@Doge Vandire armored camels would be cool, but i don't really know how to do it properly at the moment. I have been thinking about some religious units though, was thinking something like djinn cultist.

@mlgunding the cannonades would work, but i don't want it to be the same as cannons most factions have, something that would work welll for araby.

@Gontex i don't want this mod to affect the strengths and weaknesses of the factions too much, so i don't know if i will give them proper shock cav, about thehighlanders and nobles, i don't want to add too many variations of higher tier units, but maybe something like highlanders with great axes might work, but i will focus on araby first, albion after that

armored camels and some stronger line infantry would be great. maybe access to vampire count units with the wizard building with easier access to necromancers. Also could use a religious building for araby, i know in the lore its pretty open to worship of any god but they did have the Zoroastrian inspired god that was unique and give them there own battle pilgrim or flagellants

Big thanks for the mod i love araby in ovn but my other mods make them so underpowered and there's never any unit mods for araby

Pretty cool! If you're still working on Araby, could you add cannonades to their roster? It never made sense how they have grand bombard but no cannonades! It would also really help sell the pirate theme for the Golden Magus, but I understand what I'm asking is a lot and isn't easy. If you have the passion and time, I'd love to see more! Either what I said, or something else entirely.
