All the weapons you transferred from BM:BS work perfectly... all except this shotgun, the sound is updated, but the animations are old. And if you start the game with the parameter “+wait 50 +mat_reloadallmaterials”, then the shotgun generally becomes invisible in your hands, everything is fine with other weapons. Why? What can I do to make it work?

Ok, So after multiple hours of trial and error i finally figured out how to get this mod to work 100% correctly.

1. download the shared assets mod (the required file) and leave it in the workshop download folder (where steam will place it normally on clicking the "subscribe" button)

2. subscribe to this mod and leave it in its download location.

3. copy the files from this download and place said copy into your black mesa custom folder.

if done correctly you should have a copy of this mod in both the workshop folder and you black mesa custom folders

for some reason, having the mod in only one of these two locations results in one or more aspects of the mod not working.

Draw back of this is, you will not be able to use custom sound replacers for the weapon, trying to do so results in the sounds bugging out and not aligning with the animations.

hope this helps anyone else running into problems with the mod.

I'm trying to make a Thanez arms patch for these animation mods, but the shotgun decided to jump into the fourth dimension and the vertices are all messed up. Do you know why this is happening and a possible fix?

Would you be willing to make a version where it's all the same except the stock is folded and obv the unfolding animation doesn't happen? I'm a huge fan of unfolded spas 12s and if u do it I'd totally buy you a game from ur wishlist

Scratch that: there was something in my custom folder that I had forgotten about overriding stuff. Retextures work perfectly after all.

Seems like retextures don't work at all, even after putting the retexture and the model in the same vpk.

the stock is the only part of this shotgun that uses a unique texture, so in theory it *should* be reskin compatible

Is this intended to be retexture-compatible? It doesn't seem to include replacements for the default shotgun textures and only includes ones for the stock, but I've tried several retextures and none of them have worked even after the whole put-stuff-into-custom-and-restart-steam troubleshooting rigmarole.

It's not that simple, I had to recompile the weapon viewmodels to use BM's arm bodygroups

Go to Steam > Settings > Interface and check "Display web address bars when available" and the ID will show up at the top of the window

Hey! for those of you who are annoyed by the unsynced weapon pickup just do the following:
Extract the mod vpk
go into the sound folder
rename draw_admire to draw_admire01.
This will fix the draw sound being out of sync

You may be sensible enough to flip down the stock now, but apparently still not sensible enough to flip the SPAS-12 upside down and press the latch carrier button when loading shells

No, not the ammo pickup sound, I mean the sound effect that plays when you first get the weapon and it goes through the weapon pickup animation sequence, it just plays the default sound and it's terribly out of sync
