It's so incredibly complicated. I have the PNG, I even have the skin in ModStudio 2 and it still doesn't work. It's a shame that they make it so complicated - it's no fun

@AlexP
That would be awesome, if you made that a youtube series or something, i'd definitely watch that.

Hello @SnowmanBetz, it is a quite ambitious project but in theory it should be possible since basically the 3D model is a CAD model. Normally the Mods for ATS and ETS2 that have 3D models are converted to programs such as Blender or Zmodeler since there are official and unofficial plugins that allow this conversion to be carried out :steamhappy:. With this in mind, you could look into converting the 3D model to Blender, for example, and then find someone to convert it to a CAD file that is compatible with a 3D printing program. That's all the help I know and can give you :104:

Alex, I’ve used your trailer for a while on the game, but I couldn’t help but wonder, is the template you have compatible to 3D print in any way? I’m active duty US Coast Guard and I build model kits as well and the template you have would be great if it can be 3D printed

Thanks for the tips. Way easier than following the steps above. I recommend following this if its your first time creating your own template.

Another tip for editing this, lay the template from the link in the mod description over the template from your files. This helps you see where you're putting things.

@AlexP

Also, if you can make a template that shows the trailer's lights and reflectors, that'd help alot, since they look fine when making the skin, but in the game parts of the skin are blocked.

Also, feel free to DM me, and if you want I can translate my replies to your language.

@AlexP

I found a good way to edit the skin!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. YOU WILL NEED:
7Zip | notepad++ | GIMP

2. Go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270880\2668403593

3. And then open "my_paintjob_for_fea_alexp_ver.zip" using 7Zip.

4. go to:
Vehicle\trailer\company

5. Save a copy of the DDS file onto your desktop when you find the DDS file. You will thank yourself later for this.

6. And using GIMP, open "my_paintjob.dds"

7. Once you edit "my_paintjob.dds" make sure it has the same name, and save it to the folder you found it in. It should work.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GIMP is a photo editor which (if you know how to use it, or watch a YT tutorial) is great for editing the template.

Hello @Dakota The Hox!, thank you for appreciating my mod, unfortunately, making a video would take me a long time since I don't speak English and I don't know how to edit videos :steamsad:. I suggest you study the files in this mod painting and the files in the trailer mod and start little by little; First, replace a painting and then try to make it independent. It's hard at first but once you understand it it's very simple :steamhappy:, you just have to understand which files have what name. etc... Try it and you will succeed :104:

Hey, I love the trailer mod, but I'm trying to edit this skin into my own thing, and the instructions are really confusing. Could you make a video on how to make your own skin with this template?
AlexP  [author] 17 Jul, 2023 @ 3:10pm
Hi @M33MST4R, from where I am it's hard to see what you're doing wrong :steamsad:, I recommend you subscribe to this mod and look how its author modified the files.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2892679765

Remember that you must edit the addresses and other details inside each sii, mat and tobj file taking into account the files with your modified name of your paintjob/skin mod (see fifth image above).

Do not give up, with patience and time you will achieve it :steamhappy:

It keeps crashing whenever I choose my skin for the trailer, what did I do wrong?
jimist14 23 Apr, 2023 @ 2:27pm
im so lost ive tried everything
AlexP  [author] 7 Feb, 2023 @ 6:26pm
Hello @Hailfire, indeed, the link is for the png template, for the zip file, you have to subscribe to this mod and look for the zip file on your computer (you can search a video on YouTube to find out how to find scs steam workshop files)
Hailfire 7 Feb, 2023 @ 10:14am
The link to the template seems to go to a .png and not a .zip file?
J.Walker 5 Jan, 2023 @ 8:52pm
The trailers nice but you can't skin it with no clear instructions
sob7 31 Dec, 2022 @ 10:52am
i like the trailer
AlexP  [author] 25 Oct, 2022 @ 5:56pm
Hello @sddesigns7, I sincerely tried to be as clear as possible so that you can use this mod, however, there are many things that you must look for on your own to be able to make your own mod without errors, I am sorry if my instructions are not enough :steamsad:
sddesigns7 25 Oct, 2022 @ 1:29pm
struggling really bad on how to import the file into ats. the painting itself is easy for me
AlexP  [author] 31 Jul, 2022 @ 2:35pm
Hi @ Robert_J. Sorry, the window is fixed, my version of this trailer has no accessories :steamsad:
Robert_J 31 Jul, 2022 @ 11:23am
Is having the window on the side of the trailer a option now? Thank you for the great trailer!
ROV 5 Dec, 2021 @ 2:45pm
