you mean like this? the mod thats been out for ages
Spritesheet for diving suit helmets are located in Content/Jobgear/headgears.png you can make the helmets transparent yourself or copy the ones from this mod.
Then you open Content/Items/Diving/divinggear.xml and at lines 88, 240, 349, 432 all you need to do is set the scale to 0.70, set hideotherwearables to "false" and finally set hidelimb to "false".
Just remember that these changes will get reverted when you will verify the game files or the game receives an update.
Also why does this mod replace the disposable suits from shuttles and randomly replace starting gear to either be Combat Suits, Abyss suits or a randomization of both?

Due to file path changes the Urban Expanses and mod refactor made, all mods need to be converted in game. you can do that by login in to the game and selecting the prompt that appears. Not doing that might cause unexpected behavior.
Now i dont remember what issue was.
