Hey all, since this mod is no longer maintained, I figured it wouldn't bother the OP to mention that I have a controller accessibility mod that ALSO adds a ton of gamepad support features to this game, including support for some mods (like Jump).

i wonder if you can bind the right stick controller while aiming. it sucks eyeballing your shot everytime you use guns in this game. im exclusively playing only on steamdeck. thanks!

Finally some love for controller players, all mods are just about mouse and keyboard and we get left behind because its "PC" and not xbox or PS. Much love.

Anyone tryed this with steam deck?

Just letting people know that steam has a very in depth customizable feature for controllers and is well worth. Some mods dont allow controller functions like Auto Mechanic or the outfit saver/swapper one but now i can do all and even zoom in and out with controller and im legit planning on buying a pro controller of some sort as possibilities are endless and i even have right click and left click functionality so i recommend doing that also if the mod doesnt do something u want.

Update: Nevermind, I figured it out cx Sorry for possibly having wasted your time.
Lame Rock Bitch 1 Aug, 2022 @ 2:16pm
Hey, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but if you wouldn't mind, could you help me out with saying if there's a way to switch containers in my inventory, like my backpack or bags in my hands? Thank you.

can you use this with wireless controller ?
Preman Kampung 12 Mar, 2022 @ 12:51am
Could you also make a keybind for autozoom toggle?
JOMBi 23 Feb, 2022 @ 4:15am
Some one probably said this already, but it would be great to have analogue acceleration for the vehicles. Is there any mod out there that offers this feature?
Aetherlight 4 Feb, 2022 @ 7:09pm
I love the idea of improving controller support. PZ works so great with a controller already but there are some glaring issues, such as inventory management.

Does anybody else find the reload button to be unreliable? if you press it too fast, nothing happens, if you hold it too long the radial menu pops up then disappears and again, nothing happens. Is there any chance you could do something to make reloading more reliable?

I've been thinking of working on this issue myself but I don't know anything about the PZ API and specifically, I haven't found any concrete info about controller functions.

Perfect! Thx. Looking forward to it.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 31 Jan, 2022 @ 6:21pm
@fail2ban Yeah, I saw in the code about the tooltip placement. Looks like I didn't add this to my future functionality, will do so now. Just need to take some time and add that to the mod.
fail2ban 31 Jan, 2022 @ 6:38am
Thank you! Makes life so much easier. Only problem I have is the tooltip will now be displayed above the inventory list if you move the inventory to the upper screen. Is it possible to move it to the lower boundary instead of displaying it above the inventory?
KodeMan 26 Jan, 2022 @ 2:04am
You're awesome!
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 25 Jan, 2022 @ 10:37pm
@Valhalla Community Sure thing. That shouldn't be too hard to do. Glad you really like the mod :spiffo:
KodeMan 25 Jan, 2022 @ 4:30pm
Would it be possible to add an admin option to disable "move all to floor context"? I'd like to add this to a server but dont want to make it easier for people to litter.
KodeMan 25 Jan, 2022 @ 4:27pm
Coming from a primary controller user, I absolutely love this.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 24 Jan, 2022 @ 3:56pm
@SalamanderAnder That sounds like it should be doable. Can add that to the list and see if it's doable.
SalamanderAnder 22 Jan, 2022 @ 7:51pm
I have a suggestion. Please add an option to invert the inventory controls so that A is the auto transfer button and X opens the context menu, to match how A is the action button and X is the context menu button outside of the inventory. It always irked me that these two schemes are the inverse of each other.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 22 Jan, 2022 @ 5:14pm
@fxver23 that's a great idea. I'll add it to my list
fxver23 22 Jan, 2022 @ 3:50pm
yo can you make a way to take off the keys of the ignition with out using a mouse pls
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 14 Jan, 2022 @ 10:38am
@Gurtrude good point. I'll see what can be done about that.
Thorby 13 Jan, 2022 @ 8:59pm
As someone who likes to use a controller I'm thankful for this mod and look forward to seeing future updates.

Just one thing to note with the latest update to this, idk if there's a way to sort it. But with the readjusted inventory menu at the top of the screen the tooltips for items tend to get in the way of what your searching for making it trickier to navigate.
E_Tgirl 1 Jan, 2022 @ 3:56pm
Yeah force ground attacking with a weapon, while playing i always constantly ground attack with a weapon and its the only thing that stops me from ever touching a control. the detecting will force you to attack a standing one but in certain situations force ground attacking is better off so that you get those easy kills.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 31 Dec, 2021 @ 8:27pm
@Smolcream Ok. With a way to force ground attack, do you mean to do the foot stomp move, or using your melee weapon? And is this to overwrite the priority of attacking a standing zombie over one on the ground?
E_Tgirl 31 Dec, 2021 @ 5:14pm
I think a great addition to controller support if possible would be a way to force ground attack
Helvete 30 Dec, 2021 @ 2:08am
@Tyrannodorkus Thank you very much!!!
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 30 Dec, 2021 @ 1:56am
@Helvete I don't have that included in the mod yet to have the inventory bar be at top for controllers, but I can give you the change you'll probably need to manually do that, but this works for solo, not for multiplayer.
Go to your Project Zomboid steam folder and look for the ISPlayerDataObject.lua file
(Default would be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\lua\client\ISUI\PlayerData\ISPlayerDataObject.lua )
Then on line 197, you'll want to change the word mouse for true. That should do it for now as a workaround. If it gives issues, just undo the change.
As for the clock size, I'm not sure how that can modified yet. But I can add it to my list to do.
Helvete 29 Dec, 2021 @ 10:15pm
And please tell me how to reduce the size of the clock located in the upper right corner :)
Helvete 29 Dec, 2021 @ 10:14pm
Sorry for my english. i installed this mod. but the inventory bar is still on the bottom. Please tell me how to move it to the top?
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 19 Dec, 2021 @ 8:15pm
@it's a gabe totally understand. Was going to see how they both work. I feel like using LT and RT will definitely be my default way to go, but don't mind adding the L3 and R3 and letting anyone decide through mod options which they prefer to go.

[Split my comment in two due to the 1k character limit. Topmost is the first paragraph, followed by the second]
it's a gabe 19 Dec, 2021 @ 10:05am
The LT and RT idea does leave you vulnerable as you can't run, shove, or attack, but my suggestion comes from the fact that the inventory screen when playing with a controller takes up half the bloody screen. If I have to deal with a zombie while looting, I find it much easier to close the inventory screen (which is done easily by hitting Y). It covering half the screen gets in the way to the point where it's inconvenient to fight with it open, so losing the ability to defend yourself isn't that much of a loss when ceasing any inventory management by closing the whole screen is far more reliable.
it's a gabe 19 Dec, 2021 @ 10:05am
L3 and R3 have the same issue, as far as those buttons not being entirely free. I don't remember from the top of my head if R3 has a binding, but L3 toggles crouch. Even if they're used tho, actually clicking the sticks feels unnatural for repeating actions such as selecting multiple items, especially because you use the d-pad to navigate the inventory screen. Having your thumb on the face buttons and the index and middle fingers handling all bumpers and triggers is more... ergonimic, shall we say. Cuz then, if we have to use the d-pad to navigate through items and click L3 to select multiple, we'd have to hold the controller in such an awkward position that'd be far more detrimental than dedicating the triggers to managing multiple items.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 19 Dec, 2021 @ 9:54am
That would be something I'd have to test for to make sure it doesn't leave me vulnerable while the inventory is open. L3 and R3 are also possible keybinds. If they both work/have their own quirks, may just have to put that as a mod option for people to decide which they would prefer. Just need to get it working first though when I get some more time to mod for this.
burdy 18 Dec, 2021 @ 4:22pm
that LT and RT suggestion is great. does it not make you useless in combat while looting though? and restrict you from jogging away? Maybe something like L3 and R3 for ctrl and shift. I'm not sure of their binds though. I love everything else you plan to add. Thanks.
Tyrannodorkus  [author] 11 Dec, 2021 @ 10:52am
@it's a gabe good suggestion. I did look at that at one point while making this. I know it's possible, but wasn't very clear in code how to add to the highlighted item list. Might have to find a creative solution for this one, but I added it to the list. Thank you.
it's a gabe 11 Dec, 2021 @ 2:57am
Oh, I see what you did there. Interesting.

I made a suggestion to improve inventory management with a controller, but I don't think the devs saw it. It's basically turning LT and RT into Ctrl and Shift when the loot window is open so that we can move about stuff more easily.

If we have that, it'll be much easier to move items in bulk once they fix the "move to" option, which is currently broken.
