Upon second inspection, I take back what I said prior about the sunbeams looking tacky. It seems the way this effect utelizes sunbeams is quite different from other effects. Here, it is slower and more subtle.
It's looking very good so far, however I do wonder what it would look like with a lens flare added. Not saying you have to add it but it would be definitely interesting to try out
thanks for the compliments guys. :)
Firstly, these look absolutely incredible. The placement & detailing on the clouds, as well as the glow & speckled stars do well in setting a grand and indeed, scenic, scene.
1 thing though, in the clip with the "Firmament" effect, the glowing sun appears to fizzle out in the later half of the video. Why is this? I hope it is not intended, as the glow in the sun is necessary for the effect to look realistic and pleasing.
Another thing, I feel as though the sunbeam pillars that are periodically shown look a little bit...ehm..tacky. This is something I have noticed on workshop effects in general that use the sunbeams texture. I don't know, I think perhaps removing them or swapping them for a lens flare could help it out, but maybe I am just being picky lol.
Lastly I hope nobody whines about Midnight Mobile being similar to Cloudy Moon, it is distinct from that effect and clearly has it's own style
