The only change needed to get this mod working is to update About.xml to allow version 1.4.

To make a local copy...

1. Open Rimworld and click the Mods button
2. Click on Uncaring Anima in the left panel then click the Advanced button. Select "Open Folder".
3. Copy both the About and Patches folders to clipboard.
4. Navigate to the Steam game location : ../Steam/Steamapps/Common/RimWorld
5. Open the Mods folder.
6. Make a new folder inside Mods called "UncaringAnima" and paste the About and Patches folders from clipboard into it.
7. Open UncaringAnima/About/About.xml in Notepad++ (or similar)
8. Copy and paste the 1.3 entry from the supportedVersion block and edit to look like this...
<supportedVersions>
<li>1.3</li>
<li>1.4</li>
</supportedVersions>
9. Save About.xml
10. Return to the main RimWorld screen then back into Mods so it will pick up the new copy of UncaringAnima. Select the version of UncaringAnima with the Folder icon and Save Changes.

I don't seem to be able to put the ideogram under the tree, it either pops out after saving, or they straight up cut the tree when placing the ideogram

@Geronimo There's a mod called Rock And Stone that makes stone walls craftable using stone chunks. It's currently limited to the 5 vanilla stone types like marble, slate, limestone, etc. but the walls act like regular stone walls. Anima trees have no issue with them and act enitrely like map-generated stone walls (can be smoothed, mined, etched with a mod, etc). Even better, they are available form the start and don't require research. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the mod; exactly what I was looking for.

The only change I'd want is for the ability to put bedrolls near it. I imagined my Rough Living tribe would want to sleep near the tree; and they could with just sleeping spots! but when we advanced to bedrolls the tree got a restraining order.

on small maps its difficult to fit the anima in without one of those two causing a reduction. the option would be nice.

@Geronimo I mean yeah thats possible ig but I dont really see it as logical

could this also "not care" about walls or power lines?
