Flooding with water is a pretty common bug, probably caused by some mod working improperly, but this bug should resolve itself if you just let the game run for some time to let the water settle down. I hope this helps!

pressed play and the map floods with water

Super happy to hear that the map still functions fine and dandy even though it's been 3 years since release! Thanks so much for you kind words, made my day! :) Glad you enjoy the map! :steamhappy:

I just started playing CS again and am using this map, and it's gorgeous. It worked flawlessly when I got all the required items and the newest versions of various mods. This map seriously belongs on page one of best all time maps--I've tried so many of them myself, I ought to know!
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 15 Aug, 2024 @ 3:01pm
Well that's a first I've heard of an issue like that. Sounds like a possible mod incompatibility and something going funky with the simulation at the start of the game. Does it resolve itself if you just wait the initial flooding out?
holdenmsnyder 13 Aug, 2024 @ 7:24pm
I’m having an issue with all of your maps with uncontrollable flooding at the start of the game. I tried Prism Ridge and got a giant tsunami as soon as I pressed play that wiped out the entire map. I tried Teal river and the sewage flooded part of the map. Any idea why this is happening in my game?
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 25 Mar, 2024 @ 1:44am
Did you double check you have all the requirements set active in the mod manager? Also, as this map is a bit older, the requirements might be outdated -> you should look for the newest counterparts for each mod. For example, for unlimited trees you should use Tree Control these days. Also did you try running the map with just the required mods and nothing extra?
TheDivineHustle 24 Mar, 2024 @ 8:08pm
Doesn't work for me, but all the others do
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 1 Jan, 2024 @ 1:42am
Glad to hear it worked! :steamhappy:
shercanne 23 Dec, 2023 @ 5:21am
It worked thank you for your help

I will try disabling every mods except the ones needed for the map
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 20 Dec, 2023 @ 2:06pm
Sorry to hear that. Did you check for possible conflicts too? Other than that I'm afraid I'm out of any troubleshooting tips. Re-subscribing to stuff does magic sometimes, but honestly it's a long shot.

shercanne 20 Dec, 2023 @ 3:07am
Thank you will try once I have the time to and tell you if it worked
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 19 Dec, 2023 @ 12:41pm
Make sure all dependencies (and sub-dependencies like harmony) are active in the mod manager. Sometimes re-subscribing / activating can help too. Also check if you have any mod conflicts (for example being subscribed to two different versions of theme mixer at the same time).

Also like mentioned below on the previous comment, check if it works with another version of the unlimited trees mod that works for you, however this is likely not the cause of the issue as if it was, you'd probably be seeing just the trees missing.

As you have the map loading flat with nothing on it, it sounds like a mod conflict or a broken mod.
-> only way to really troubleshoot is check your mods and see if there are conflicts, or broken mods active.

I hope this helps!
shercanne 19 Dec, 2023 @ 11:35am
Why does the map loads flat with no water no nothing when I have everything needed
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 14 Sep, 2023 @ 4:13pm
Hey there! First check that the tree asset (Ultra low tri trees) is actually set active in the mod manager in game. Sometimes when you subscribe to an item, it doesn't automatically activate it in game and could cause an issue like this.
After that I'd check the unlimited trees mod. There has been a number of update since the release of this map hence the mods have also changed; if you're using a newer version of the mod, try switching to the older version which is listed here as a requirement, and vice versa, if you're using the one listed here, try using the newest mod that allows for unlimited trees.
Hope this helps!
Obby Bubbla 14 Sep, 2023 @ 1:38pm
Anybody know why there are no trees spawning for me.

Here's the overview of the entire map, albeit it might be a bit too pixelated when zoomed in: https://i.imgur.com/HcYfp0N.jpeg
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 14 Jun, 2023 @ 2:21pm
Hey there! Glad to hear you like the map. Luckily I still have the photos in original quality (that being 2560x1440), here's a link from which you can find that image: https://i.imgur.com/vbQxScl.jpeg

There might be a tiny bit of quality degradation when it's uploaded to imgur, but judging by the file size it's pretty much the same quality as the original. Hopefully it's better than the posted one :lunar2019grinningpig:

I'd happily go grab you a CSL map view if I had it, but I've actually never used the mod so it's probably easier for you to get it yourself if you're familiar with the mod :)
Feel free to ask if you need anything else though, I'm always happy to help!
Rockaway283 14 Jun, 2023 @ 1:38pm
Hey bossman - been shopping around for maps and am a big fan of this one, have had it downloaded for awhile now but going to get in it. I'm a big fan of using Photoshop and/or Revu to draw some conceptual ideas on maps before I go in-game, wondering if you had a photo like the second-to-last one posted that's in a lot higher image quality. I can get by with using the one posted, but making some details are tricky because every time I zoom in I'm getting pixels. Let me know - a CSL map view would be fire too, but don't feel like ya gotta do any extra work. Appreciate it boss
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 8:35am
Ah, now I found it yeah :lunar2019grinningpig: Looks amazing! I see you've gotten rid of the dam and revised the highway layout, I'm all for it! Always super interesting to see different adaptations of the maps and how people envision and build a city into the landscape. Great looking project, I'll definitely be checking back for more screenshots every now and then when I remember to! :hardhat:

Hey there Andre! Tried looking up the posts but unfortunately I was unable to find them. I'm always super interested in seeing what people build on my maps so thanks a lot for sharing! I'll try and find your pictures again at a later time when I have more time.

I have been working on an American city featuring this map for about 2 years since this map hit the workshop. I've started to post some pics from the city on the skylines subreddit...user: drewbz if you wanna see what I've managed with your amazing map :)

So, I also had all my trees missing from my map when starting out.

To fix it I also had to select the trees using the Move it marquee tool which made them visible but black and small.

I did a bit of testing and it seemed, saving and quitting to the menu didn't quite work as all the trees were there but still black when I loaded it up the next time, so after that I fully quit the game and then reopened it and the trees were now there and looking correct.

Yes, Unlimited Trees: Revisited is incompatible with Tree Anarchy. Both mods provide the same function, essentially raising the maximum tree limit. On top of that, Tree Anarchy provides some other features as well.

I'd recommend you use Tree Anarchy and unsubscribe the Unlimited Trees: Revisited. It's listed as a requirement solely to indicate that you need to raise the maximum tree limit with a mod, and the reason why UT:R is the mod in the requirements is because that was the mod that I was using when creating the map.

Just like the UT:R description says, you should nowadays probably use Tree Anarchy.
I hope this clarifies it :)

[Unlimited Trees: Revisited] cannot coexist with [Tree Anarchy]. After subscribing, open the main screen of the game and a pop-up window with a red cross icon will appear.
[Unlimited Trees: Revisited] The author said in the details page:
· You should subscribe to [Tree Anarchy] instead
· If you are still subscribed to this mod, I strongly recommend moving to the new [Tree Anarchy] mod which is a complete rewrite and includes both Tree Snapping and [Unlimited Trees] functionality along with a raft of performance and QOL improvements.
中文评论:【Unlimited Trees: Revisited】不能与【Tree Anarchy】共存。订阅后,打开游戏主画面,会提示红色叉号图标的弹窗。
【Unlimited Trees: Revisited】作者在详情页里说到:
· 你应该订阅 [Tree Anarchy]
· 如果您仍然订阅此模组,我强烈建议您转移到新的 [Tree Anarchy] 模组,它是一个完全重写的模组,包括树捕捉和 [无限树] 功能以及大量性能和 QOL 改进。

Apologies for the delayed response. This issue sounds like a mod collision, I'd start by double checking that all the mods you're using are compatible with each other. I hope you've managed to solve the issue already though!

when I load the map, I can't place anything, not even roads, and I also can't buy new tiles
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 4 Jun, 2022 @ 10:31am
To be honest I don't know - it's a part of the theme mix and thus not subscribing to any one of the required items for the mix will cause at least visual issues. I can't remember if I used Solstice as the base theme or the Generic Temperate 4K - if the Solstice theme is the base theme, not subscribing to it could break the map (if the game doesn't know how to load another theme in place for the map).

Now, all that being said I doubt that the themes are actually essential. Sure, the visuals will be completely different, but I think the map should still function. I think there's an option to load the map up with an alternative theme before launching it too (this feature could be a part of a mod (environment changer, for example) though), which could be used to "override" the originally used map theme.

TLDR: I'm not sure, but if I were you I'd give it a go. Most likely the map will still function.
watnos 4 Jun, 2022 @ 10:12am
What happens if I don't subscribe to the Solstice theme? Will the map not function properly?
Nunuk 10 May, 2022 @ 2:24pm
ok, Thank you

Now, to troubleshoot the issues you're having, firstly make sure you give it enough time. Sometimes the game takes an absurdly long time to generate ship/train/airplane traffic. Secondly, if after a considerable wait, traffic still doesn't appear, make sure you have enough population and activity in your city to actually support (i.e. be able to generate) those forms of traffic. Thirdly, you can raise the ship/airplane budgets in the budget menu, set them to maximum (both day and night) and see if it helps. If none of the above helps, then it's likely a 3rd party mod related issue. I hope this helps :)

Maps don't need updating per se (game updates don't break maps, as maps do not change the game code in any way unlike mods, which might break due to updates). Now, of course I'd update a map if it was broken, but as there are 15 000 current subscribers and this is the first time someone brings up issues with ships and airplanes, I can say with almost complete certainty that the issues you're experiencing are user specific (if it wasn't we'd be seeing way more complaints about the map being broken in some way).
Nunuk 10 May, 2022 @ 4:49am
Ships don't work,airport doesn't work,update the map,please!!!!
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 3 Apr, 2022 @ 4:38am
The base theme should be selected by default, but if for whatever reason it is not; if I remember correctly, the map uses the Generic Temperate 4k as the base theme. Also double check to make sure you have the correct LUT (Relight 3 Average) and Daylight Classic active! I hope this helps :)
Mini 2 Apr, 2022 @ 2:50pm
What map theme should I select when loading up the map? I don't get it to look like yours, have all added and theme mixer 2
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 5 Mar, 2022 @ 12:42am
There are a few assets to subscribe to, yes. I'll most likely make more vanilla / lighter maps in the future!
GABRIEL aerospace 4 Mar, 2022 @ 4:55pm
there is a bit of map in your mod, can make something more vanilla?
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 15 Feb, 2022 @ 11:41am
Good to know.

At this point, I don't have any direct ideas of what specific mod could be the root cause so I'd start troubleshooting the issue by disabling "unnecessary" visual mods one by one and seeing how disabling each mod affects the visuals. The process can be a pain in the ass but it's a foolproof way to "hunt down" the mods that cause the extra brightness. Once you've managed to identify which mod has the undesired effect on the visuals, you can re-enable it if you wish - now you know which mod's settings you have to tinker with. I hope this helps :)
Toqql 15 Feb, 2022 @ 11:34am
I already checked daylight calssic many times. I have Ultimate Eyecandy, relight and other things like that.
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 15 Feb, 2022 @ 11:29am
No worries for the late answer! I kind of figured the tutorial wouldn't be of much use if you're not completely new to these settings.

Anyhow, yeah your view of the map does look really bright. It kind of does look like just as if Daylight Classic was set to "All to After Dark", but since I think we already covered that, this shouldn't be the case. I'd encourage you to double (or triple) check that Daylight Classic is actually active in the mod manager anyway, as the view is so reminiscent of the non-Daylight Classic view.

Do you use for example Relight, Ultimate Eyecandy or other visual mods other than the ones listed in the description? If so, the cause of this issue might be due to something in those mods' settings.
Toqql 15 Feb, 2022 @ 7:59am
sorry for the late answer, but the tutorial doesnt help either. My colors are still brighter than yours. I got here a screenshot for you: https://prnt.sc/26wcx5k
IhmeHihhuli ™  [author] 9 Feb, 2022 @ 7:53am
As far as tutorials go, I'm afraid I don't have any. I'd expect there to be some tutorials online however. -> After a quick research, found this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip3adtXmfr4 In the video Pres covers the use of the main mods used to alter the look of the game. Note that the video was posted in 2018, which means some of the information might be outdated. Regardless, this could be a good starting point if you're new to this stuff :hardhat:

If you post a few screenshots on your steam profile (or any public platform that you prefer) and send me a link to those images (post here or on my profile comments), I'll gladly take a look at what we're working with!
Toqql 9 Feb, 2022 @ 6:42am
Hello, thank you for the fast answer! I tried everything but it doesnt work either I think my colors look far away from yours. Do you have a tutorial or can i maybe send you a screenshot?
