Managed to locate my old saves and work through the Space Engineers Save Upgrade process :steamhappy: from Beta to 1.2 - Lots of old vanilla stuff - Hyper drive - more like mass accelerator now haha thanks to new SE features.

@wifin If you turn ship gravity off the ship doesn't pitch down - unless a recent update has sent a few thing out of whack ... not worked on SE for a month due to life commitments so I'm out of the loop on changes. On another ship I started i have the new containers sitting horizontal and flush with the ship.. but will be interesting to see what you come up with.

Cargo crates themselves are pretty neat. Really efficient structure.
While hauler looks very nice outside, interior is outright raw. Also, loading the crates was alsovery problematic due to sideways connection. And crates make the ship pitch down.

I'm woking on the concept of a cargo hauler myself. Let's see what I can come up with.

@Froesch hehe yes this project is getting huge, this week I've been building pirate cargo holders and fighters to steal the containers.. testing with friends and they are having some fun trying to decide what to steal!

thx that worked much better with the merge blocks. when i tried the containers on the freighter i found out that the reactor on the container and the control panel on the other side are a problem for the middle landing gear. screenshot: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=301864094 . i tried to connect the connectors in that position but i was scared to break the pistons ;-) so i unlocked them as fast as possible again. the connectors on the container are not similar on both sides, so i had to turn the green one.

Hi @froesch - Yes I feel your pain, we were playing it yesterday on a server and suddenly not responding well as they were before - I guess somethings changed in a micro patch because supposidly pistons have been made less bouncy and merge blocks more stable. That tug vessel was for the old size containers I did and these new containers have light amour instead so I notice they damage easier now.

Basically Dont worry, I'll sort it :D funny how we noticed it yesterday and likewise you today.

the freighter is still too inflexible in steering. i tried that small cargo ship for moving around the containers. after 20 minutes i gave up to get a container in the right position under a freighter :-/ to move around containers may connect them over merge blocks or connector blocks. the concept is interesting. i am trying around with modular ground vehicles at the moment.

I too loved the cargo system on Edge of chaos, i`ll take a look :)
