Probably the problem is disabled Allow Manual Use checkbox. I tried to make it enabled by default but had no success.

my duplicates do not carry anything into the container. I don't understand what the problem is

Can you update this mod to be used with the Hysteresis mod? Options for it do not show but they do work with Stop Sublimation While In Storage.

The mod is not designed for capacity > 100000, so it may try to return settings to supported bounds. I never tried to hack this, thus don't know much about it's behavior in such situation, sorry.

Storages are not doors, they don't have opened/closed state. If you mean when used to put or take something, I think it wouldn't be convenient.

If you mean "how to configurate the mod", there's Options button in the Mods game menu. Or you can change them manually in config.json. This file is created after first game start with mod enabled.

I like the concept of attacking the sealing/non-sealing problem with in-game flexibility as to what to build as well as the challenge of finding rare/valuable materials for these containers, plastic is an excellent choice here. The need for some new artwork is all that's missing, you should ask on the Discord for an artist to commission something. I'd also spin the insulated container off as a 3rd type of container.
