@Technophile Max - That doesn't work IIRC, at least not with PDX Launcher 2.0. I have some mods for Stellaris that do that (the ones with the weird Japanese-English title mixes like Universal Beautiful Stellaris or whatever) and the launcher just errors out saying that it's still outdated.

Unless they've updated that recently. But to my knowledge wildcard'ing the version only works on the minor patch number.
Technophile Max 8 Apr @ 3:44am
Btw, you can just put "1.*" into the version compatibility, and you won't get a red triangle as long as the game doesn't come out with version 2.0.

@Jay ;3 - No, the two can be used together. IIRC I have a screenshot of both working at the same time on the Supply Map Mode version, it's a little visually cluttered but it works without a hitch.

And crashing can be sporatic. Originally it was because there was a problem with the DX11 API when it came out - after PDX patched it majority of crashes stopped. TFR might use some custom shaders or whatnot that are incompatible with both of my mods, but I'll install them and see what's up. Best case scenario I'll just have to force this to load after TFR.

Might as well ask before I forget, The Fire Rises seemed to crash with this mod. Not the same case with Kaiserredux which I regularly play, any clue why?
Robin :3 (she/her) 23 Jan @ 9:27pm
Just a quick question: does this mod conflict at all supply map version, I'd like to use both?
$5 McChicken  [author] 18 Nov, 2024 @ 12:36am
@The Lord of Racism - yeah.
SpartanRanger 18 Nov, 2024 @ 12:20am
is the mod compatible wioth newest dlc?
Poznan God 21 Apr, 2024 @ 8:30am

empollONE 10 Oct, 2023 @ 10:01pm
@薇尔莉特我老婆 This one shows on normal map, the other one shows only on supply map mode
薇尔莉特我老婆 10 Oct, 2023 @ 9:33pm
Is there anything different between the two mods?
$5 McChicken  [author] 8 Aug, 2023 @ 9:01pm
I'm sorry guys, but "it doesn't work" and "mods broken" doesn't help me. I've just tested it on the latest release branch - this and the supply map mode version work fine.

Make sure you have 3D Buildings on in your graphics settings like the comment below say. And please include some actual useful information like what mods you're running alongside this, if you're using an old/new beta branch, etc. I need some info to go on to fix something broken, but so far the mod works perfectly fine.
Incel 8 Aug, 2023 @ 1:54pm
It doesnt seem to work
Mr.Muddy 8 Aug, 2023 @ 8:36am
mods broken
The Crafty Salesman 26 Jun, 2023 @ 8:53pm
Oh wait, never mind. I had to turn on 3D buildings and then restart the game. Doing so while playing doesn't have it show up. Turning it off then on again also seems to break it. How strange.
The Crafty Salesman 26 Jun, 2023 @ 8:49pm
Not sure why, but I can't seem to get this mod to work. Turning it on doesn't seem to change anything. I thought at first maybe some other mod was conflicting with it, but even just running it by itself doesn't seem to do anything. Also tried unsubscribing and resubscribing but no dice. Any help would be appreciated.
$5 McChicken  [author] 14 Jun, 2023 @ 9:47pm
@highlymature - Never a problem, have fun!
highlymature 14 Jun, 2023 @ 8:49pm
ah gotcha thank you for the response and the mod :)
$5 McChicken  [author] 12 Jun, 2023 @ 6:31pm
@highlymature - If I recall, only if I edit the game's Lua defines, and that would brick MP/Ironman compatibility.
highlymature 12 Jun, 2023 @ 6:26pm
is there a way to have rails appear while zoomed out further?
$5 McChicken  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 11:42am
@nisku -- ah, thank you. Nice to finally have a proper reason why the game freaks out over a name change. Thank you Paradox lol
$5 McChicken  [author] 14 Feb, 2023 @ 11:40am
@Nothing_Here82 -- my guy, the mod title changed once, chill lmfao
nisku 13 Feb, 2023 @ 9:26pm
I know it's not exactly your fault how PDX has designed their launcher :]

Still, that's how the game works - a missing (or in this case, a renamed!) mod actually does BREAK the save game. The game compares the list of mods in dlc_load.json and the save game (a binary file, not editable) and if the list differs in any way, the save won't load.

The game doesn't just revert to vanilla textures, it flat out refuses to load the previous save. Try it out yourself with a save game, if you haven't experienced this before. This makes my current campaign unplayable, period.

So even this simple rename (which should be a no-brainer to any decent game engine!) forces me to either abandon the campaign or look for clumsy workarounds. But it would be a nonsensical requirement for modders to NEVER rename their work, so I can't really blame you there...
$5 McChicken  [author] 13 Feb, 2023 @ 9:17pm
@nisku -- Yeah there was a rename, tidying up some of my mods and ones I want to upload in the future. Apologies about the trouble, it's something PDX needs to work out. There's no reason why a GFX mod should be crashing the game, the railroad model should just revert to vanilla textures.

Thank you, have fun!
nisku 13 Feb, 2023 @ 9:12pm
Question: Did you in the latest update v1.0.1.4 change the mod's name from 'Aly's Improved Railroad GFX' --> '{AIGFX} Visible Railroads}'?

This breaks my save games, as HOI4 launcher (stupidly) does not allow you to drop/rename any mods used in previous saves and reports an error on load about "missing" mod 'Aly's Improved Railroad GFX'.

Searching for a manual workaround now - seems I could just a create a dummy local mod with the exact same name to satisfy the launcher. We'll see how that works out.

Thanks for the great work, this mod is a lifesaver :)
$5 McChicken  [author] 12 Feb, 2023 @ 9:45am
@Shadow.The.Dark.Lord - I see, no problem. Have fun!
Shaddev 12 Feb, 2023 @ 9:43am
Alright figured out the issue- I don't normally play with 3D buildings on as it tends to lag the game more. When I turned that back on they showed up.
Shaddev 12 Feb, 2023 @ 9:33am
So I ran the mod alone, nothing changed. I deleted the files from my content folder and resubbed, still nothing. I'm gonna try verifying game files next but other than that I don't know what could be going wrong
$5 McChicken  [author] 11 Feb, 2023 @ 8:04pm
@Shadow.The.Dark.Lord - It should be, Rt56 doesn't overwrite any of this mod's files IIRC.
Shaddev 11 Feb, 2023 @ 7:51pm
Is this compatible with RTE/RT56?
$5 McChicken  [author] 8 Sep, 2022 @ 1:20pm
@Odin99 -- Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoy the mod!
Odin99 8 Sep, 2022 @ 12:41pm
I believe this mod and the accompanying SUPPLY MAP MODE mod are a necessity when playing HOI4 making it so much more player friendly. I feel so strongly about this, that I believe Paradox should integrate them into the game. Very nicely done! Thank you!
$5 McChicken  [author] 15 Mar, 2022 @ 11:42am
@阿臣 - Beyond this mod's scope. I don't think you can remove railways in-game *anyway*, but that might be a nice mod for the future.
常青树 15 Mar, 2022 @ 10:10am
Excuse me, Mr. author, you can add a function that can dismantle a certain grid of railway or supply center. Sometimes the railway built by computer is terrible, neither practical nor beautiful. I hope you can reply to me
$5 McChicken  [author] 13 Feb, 2022 @ 6:29pm
@Galiv - I've tried. Usually those "light green" or lime derivatives end up basically being a super light green indistinguishable from Lv.5. I think the yellow-white as it stands currently may be a bit jarring but it's visually distinct enough.
Galiv 12 Feb, 2022 @ 10:45pm
wouldnt a color like 182 255 0 be better for the lvl 4 rails?
$5 McChicken  [author] 21 Jan, 2022 @ 8:56pm
This mod is now compatible with "THE NEW ORDER: LAST DAYS OF EUROPE." Sorry for the wait everyone! Both versions now work fine. This mod is also compatible with "KAISERREICH: LEGACY OF THE WELTKRIEG."
Genvid 21 Jan, 2022 @ 7:03pm
You are a hero
Adil3tr 2 Jan, 2022 @ 1:57pm
Okay, thanks.
$5 McChicken  [author] 2 Jan, 2022 @ 9:29am
This mod does make it easier to see which railroads may be bottlenecking you, though.
$5 McChicken  [author] 2 Jan, 2022 @ 9:27am
@Adil3tr - No, this shows low-quality railroads you should upgrade, or in a war, ones that you should capture to ensure good supply to the front.

The game already displays/informs of supply bottlenecks when you hover over the area. It'll show you which railroad the supply comes from IIRC and how bottlenecked it is.
Adil3tr 2 Jan, 2022 @ 12:04am
Wait, so this doesn't show supply bottlenecks, it shows you if you have low quality railroads and should build better ones?
$5 McChicken  [author] 1 Jan, 2022 @ 7:04pm
@Zilby - С Новым годом товарищ! Веселитесь!

Thank you for doing what had to be done
depressed little caesars worker 29 Dec, 2021 @ 7:06pm
THANK FUCK. I hated how terribly hard it was to tell the quality of a rail network
$5 McChicken  [author] 29 Dec, 2021 @ 6:40pm
Just a small note for all users, if you notice that this mod doesn't work when using another mod, please tell me here. I can update the mod with a compatibility dependency to make sure this loads last so it works.

I've heard it works with Kaiserredux. Let me know if there's any more compatible/incompatible mods!!
Sal 29 Dec, 2021 @ 11:50am
Great work. Appreciated!
