Unless they've updated that recently. But to my knowledge wildcard'ing the version only works on the minor patch number.
And crashing can be sporatic. Originally it was because there was a problem with the DX11 API when it came out - after PDX patched it majority of crashes stopped. TFR might use some custom shaders or whatnot that are incompatible with both of my mods, but I'll install them and see what's up. Best case scenario I'll just have to force this to load after TFR.
Make sure you have 3D Buildings on in your graphics settings like the comment below say. And please include some actual useful information like what mods you're running alongside this, if you're using an old/new beta branch, etc. I need some info to go on to fix something broken, but so far the mod works perfectly fine.
Still, that's how the game works - a missing (or in this case, a renamed!) mod actually does BREAK the save game. The game compares the list of mods in dlc_load.json and the save game (a binary file, not editable) and if the list differs in any way, the save won't load.
The game doesn't just revert to vanilla textures, it flat out refuses to load the previous save. Try it out yourself with a save game, if you haven't experienced this before. This makes my current campaign unplayable, period.
So even this simple rename (which should be a no-brainer to any decent game engine!) forces me to either abandon the campaign or look for clumsy workarounds. But it would be a nonsensical requirement for modders to NEVER rename their work, so I can't really blame you there...
Thank you, have fun!
This breaks my save games, as HOI4 launcher (stupidly) does not allow you to drop/rename any mods used in previous saves and reports an error on load about "missing" mod 'Aly's Improved Railroad GFX'.
Searching for a manual workaround now - seems I could just a create a dummy local mod with the exact same name to satisfy the launcher. We'll see how that works out.
Thanks for the great work, this mod is a lifesaver :)
The game already displays/informs of supply bottlenecks when you hover over the area. It'll show you which railroad the supply comes from IIRC and how bottlenecked it is.
I've heard it works with Kaiserredux. Let me know if there's any more compatible/incompatible mods!!
